Yeah, i do find those sort of things annoying. Years ago, when facebook first started up (2007 or so) i didn't see a whole lot of that, but now a days it seems like its either that or people playing stupid games (i dont want to accept your wheat or magical goats or whatever it is the game prompted you to share yet again in the past 20 seconds) clogging up my news feed. After entering and getting a better view, it looks like the bits of grass were at one point likely sleeping mats, but the majority of them have been ripped to pieces. Tulir notices that there are dried drips and pools of blood all about the room.

Highlighting would be something i would like (but i use MS visual web developer, part of the express version of visual studios, for all my web based stuff ). I hate looking at flat text. It's offensive to my eyes (yeah, spoiled, i know) Also, here's a kinda nice one i've used before. It's basically like editing a word document and then you hit the "HTML" button to see and copy the HTML code. It's pretty simple for people who don't want to mess with tags.

Yeah, i'll go ahead and say that it will help you with the stench and give you a +4 to your fort save, since the smell isn't magical in any way, and is simply just because troglodyte's are basically disgusting creatures
