  1. Turjan searches both doors thoroughly. After a moment or two, he turns back to the party and say, "Well, looks like the room is slightly asymmetrical. Neither of these doors are trapped."
  2. (you CAN take 20's on searches, but it takes 20 times as long, or 2 minutes per square. This can take forever to search an entire room using. For example the northern part of the room, ignoring where the room turns south, would take 336 minutes to search every square with a 20, or just over 5 and a half hours. searching just the entire northern wall would take 44 minutes. Generally, it's best to just search square you suspect have something hidden there, either by how the room is shaped or other various hints and clues, and of course doors. Also having an elf with high search helps, too. They get automatic search checks rolled in private for them when they pass by a hidden door) Turjan leads everyone who follows around the corner. Heading south, the eastern wing of the room appears to be very similar to the northern wing. It even has doors in the corresponding locations on the eastern wall. (doors are located on T25 and Z25)
  3. heh, there's this restaurant near where i live that sells french toast made out of banana nut muffins (they're also a bakery, so its muffins made there), they're awesome.
  4. Yeah, i always call it intellisense too, MS product or not.
  5. I assume you arent talking about visual studios, right? because the express version totally has intellisense Also: techincally, if it isnt a microsoft product, it doesn't actually have "intellisense" since i think that's microsoft's copyrighted name for autocomplete.
  6. Heh, so i decided to look up the differences in VS express vs professional, and so far I can't seem to find anyone who can name any real differences outside of "less code templates" and not getting a free subscription to the MSDN library for so many years..... There was one thread i read where someone said it was missing some sql server integration and reporting services (especially since SQL server report builder is a free download), but if you know how to connect to and use a database at all, I don't see why you would even care about this in the first place. Also, from personal experience i don't know any difference. I've used it professionally for quite a while, and I have no idea what's different in the two other than professional is installed all as one, where as the express editions are installed a la carte, so i honestly couldn't tell you WHY you would bother paying for it.....and that's kinda bugging me
  7. You are unable to fight the wave of nausea that overcomes you. ( you are sickened while within the stench and for 4 rounds after leaving. Since the door is closed you are now outside of the stench) Turjan looks sick for a few moments, but regains his composure quickly. "Well, I don't know about you guys, but that certainly seems like a room I would rather avoid visiting under any circumstance." Looking around, he glances over the party, "Well, do we want to open the trapped door or explore the eastern wing of this room?"
  8. VS express is completely free, along with a license that allows you to create and sell anything you make, and express versions have basically all the features you need in it. In fact, i'm honestly not sure what the pay versions bring to the table....
  9. and my response to you is the same that it was previously:
  10. (heh, actually that should be con score, not modifier Also, Turjan is holding a torch, at the moment as an FYI ) Umieri and Seynir You notice nothing more than a pile of corpses Anyone who is trained (has one rank) in the heal skill. Based on your knowledge of the medicinal arts, you know that based on the decay in this room, it is likely to be rife with diseases. Anyone not trained in the heal skill can attempt a DC 5 wisdom check to make this connection as well.
  11. Well, most of the issues people claim with it (such as 32 bit software compatibility and drivers and such) are issues that were fixed/changed rather soon after it came out, and have just plain have been smoothed out over the years. Anyone who claims it still has such issues are generally just willfully ignorant over this fact in order to bash windows in general.
  12. You feel a wave of nausea start but you expertly stamp it down and hold you stomach in check at the stench.
  13. Even before you opened the door you could smell that something was amiss. Now that it is open, the smell is overwhelming. The source is more than a score of bodies piled up in the room, their flesh rotting away. Everyone within 3 squares of the door who wasn't holding their breath as Satsuoni warned needs to give me fort saves vs. sickened. Everyone holding their breath (it doesn't look like any one said they did, but I'll be generous this time and allow you to declare it post-opening if you want) is fine for as long as they can hold it (a number of rounds equal to your constitution modifier)
  14. Yeah, i know right? usually the internet is really good at taking my money in exchange for frivolous stuff, but in this instance it's reacting really darn slow to my cash.
  15. The door in question is in D4, that's the one that smells odd
  16. Maptool, there's also a torrent file (not illegal/bootlegged, just using the torrent system for distribution) somewhere floating around for it that contains like 2 GB of tokens and tiles, I have that and have just been using random ones. It also has options for you to host a server and actually host the game live (has chat, dice rolling and things like that in it), it's a really good program, but it can be a bit difficult to learn, as there aren't terribly good tutorials out there for it that I have found.
  17. Yeah, most US schools end in may/June or so and start in august/September (it depends on the particular district) so right now it's just getting into the end of the year/finals part of classes. If nothing happens in the next day or two, i'm going to have turjan head forward and open the door. I just wanted to give people plenty of time to speak up if they wanted to do anything before i make the NPC force progress
  18. Moiraine is winning by about 700 votes currently.
  19. The last time I had spring break was roughly 7 years ago I wish business observed 2-week spring break stints.
  20. yeah, i knew there was no way zaphod was going to make it to the final, but i was really wishing he would.
  21. by a pretty good margin, too. I'm sad that Granny lost, though. I would have loved to see both granny and zaphod make it to the finals, that would be a heck of a match, but they both went down
  22. so i dont know if anyone is still paying attention, but the final is down to Moiraine vs Kylar
  23. So this is just an idea I had, but I figured it would be mutually beneficial to everyone to just have a generic technology Q&A thread. What i was thinking was basically just a back and forth Q&A with anyone who wanted to participate, seeing as how every one here has a different background and varying skill levels in technology, and seeing as the tech forum all ready has a number of questions in it on varying topics. I figured it would be helpful to have a space specifically for Q&A that doesn't require a lot of discussion, in order to avoid cluttering it up with topics. It's sort of like a forum game that's actually kinda boring and mundane. So, bring your questions, simple or advanced, and whether you want to know how public-key cryptography works under the diffie-hellman scheme, what the proper fansize and power combination is required for a particular hardware set up, why your internet browser is suddenly acting funny, or just simply want to know why "out of paper" light on your printer is blinking, bring any general knowledge tech on any platform, hardware or software, and we'll see if 17th shard collectively has an answer for you!
  24. The smell is very pungent and hard to identify given how faint it is at the door itself. If you had to go out on a limb, you would guess that its either a very pungent mold or fungus, or some other form of decay, potentially even rotted carcasses.
