  1. "Not off hand, but it's hard to tell with the door in the way. It's fairly faint." (Give me just a general knowledge check, 1D20+int modifier)
  2. After making a thorough check of both doors, Turjan walks back to the party and says, "Well, the western most door isn't trapped, but the eastern one is. Appear to be some sort of magical trap, it looks fairly complex, might be sort of dangerous to try to disable it, but I'll give it a shot if we want. I think it resets, too, not sure specifically how, probably when the door shuts. Neither door seems to be locked. Oh, also, the western most door smells funny...Take that for what you will."
  3. "Adventurer" is pretty much just another term for "murderous hobo"
  4. They're on the picture all ready. Northern wall, D4 and D10
  5. Other than the occasional half-hearted attempt to pull away, the orc mostly watches you listlessly as you conduct your examination. After a thorough examination, you conclude that the orcs don't seem to be suffering from any particular disease, but are merely so run down and exhausted it is taking a huge physical toll on them, manifesting itself in their sorry state.
  6. Project Glass If they could integrate these with smartphones (kinda like the teaser video seems to hint at), that would be totally awesome.
  7. You are unable to discern anything. (heh, one point too low ) It seems that the orcs have essentially given up, and are just waiting for the inevitable. They also appear to be physically drained, though that's relatively apparent. They don't seem to have any interest in stirring up trouble with your party.
  8. You guys could pick up something like mongrel. IIRC, its a pidgin of common that mongrel folk only use around other races to confuse/talk over their heads. Or something like Illumian, how likely are you to ever meet on of THEM?
  9. When you start questioning, the orcs look over with halfhearted, uninterested glances and when you finish shrug off your questions, turn back and continue mostly ignoring the party. (Everyone who wants to can give me sense motive checks)
  10. You could just preface your talking with something like: (In orc/draconic/infernal/etc.): "This is what i said"
  11. That's the way I've always played it, since there's no particular rule for identifying one. But you would need physical access to the people for examination and such to determine it 100%, though you could make a guess just given the perceived symptoms (coughing is likely to be too vague to pinpoint a particular disease)
  12. (i'm not going to draw the situation at the moment because i'm at work and cant, but it's easy enough to picture based on the last draw) As the chalk clatters to the corner, you get a good look at who is over there. The chalk lands just a few feet away from the closest figure. It appears to be three orcs, all huddled in the corner. As the light engulfs them, you notice one of them attempting to stifle yet another cough. The three of them look extremely haggard, with deep bags over their scar-marked faces, visages covered in an unhealthy looking ashen paleness. Looking over at you, the closest one halfheartedly bares his teeth in an obviously empty threat before turning back to stare off into nothingness, but other than that they make no other move.
  13. (i managed to figure out some of the lighting stuff in the tool i'm using. The lighting should look a bit better now.) Seynir manages to toss the chalk to a corner where the wall turns and begins south. About the same time, Turjan walks up to about where the chalk was. Off in the very northern corner of the room, just barely outside of the light, everyone manages to make out the vague shape of three large humanoids all huddled together. Provided they're alive, this seems a likely candidate for the source of the coughing.
  14. (yup. you manage to make it where you wished to hit)
  15. (Give me an attack roll to make it land where you want. Hitting a particular square with a thrown object is only again a 5, so it's not hard to make. If you miss, it will land in a different square.)
  16. You notice nothing within the area that you can see, but you also illicit no reaction from anything that you can tell. From where you're standing, you just barely make out the far wall, and you dont see the source of the noise. From where you stand, and judging by the walls, if you were to get a bit closer, you could likely make out the corner where the northern and far wall meet.
  17. Fun fact: If you take the first two characters of Cheese Lord, so: Ch and take the numerical values of the next two letters (e = 5), subtract them, and add 1, then take the alphabetical value of this number you get: a then take the next letter: s next, take the numerical value of all the remaining charcters (e = 5, l = 12, o = 15, r = 18, d = 4) and add them all up, take the square root, multiply by the difference of the 3rd and 4th characters, and add fifteen and you get for the alphabetic value: o And finally, transpose the last two characters and you're left with: Chaos Coincidence? I'll let you decide. I'm just a man with questions presenting the facts....
  18. Apparently there's a medi links limit
  19. (the two doors are straight across from your party, one next to the other. The one you came through moved back through the black barrier as it closed. All that's there now is a sheet of blackness. The doors are about 40 feet away from you, the left wall is directly next to your party, and the room extends to the right farther than you can see in the torchlight, but it appears to be basically rectangular from what you can tell) Umieri tosses out the piece of chalk, but you're still unable to see the far end of the room, or the source of the noise. All you hear is a bit of rustling, and a few more coughs, but nothing different. It sounds like whatever it is isnt coming towards you. Current situation: (i couldnt figure out how to do lighting in my mapping tool, so i drew it in manually. it kinda sucks, but it works the chalk landed around G11 or so. i just grouped the party up under one marker, since there's only one light source at the moment anyways, and position doesnt exactly matter)
  20. Best google maps ever. Edit: so here's the rest of google's april fools jokes: And the non-video jokes: Google street roo Google Nascar
  21. As the last of your party steps through the doorway, on the other side, the door swings slowly shut. Your torchlight gleams feebly in this complete gloom, lighting up a small region of what appears to be a large room. Two iron doors, one straight ahead of you and the other to its side, are the only things that break up the unending mass of worked stone. The chill and damp air clings to your body, and your not the only one feeling it judging by the cough coming out of the darkness. Standing a few paces in front of you, Turjan is there, holding his warhammer at the ready in one hand, and his torch in the other. He nods as you all make your way out of the door and says in a hushed whisper, "There appears to be others in the room somewhere. I think they know I'm here, but I haven't heard more than just a bit of rustling and the occasional cough or two. They don't seem to be in any particular mood to suppress their noises." At his foot rests a small lantern, and he gives it a quick tap with his foot, "I pulled out my bullseye lantern if you want me to light it up and see if we can find the source of the sounds without venturing forward."
  22. http://www.dorkly.com/e/36319 Edit: and i dedicate the link of this comic to will:
  23. Turjan pushes on the pole and forces the whole thing through the blackness. "Well....Didn't hear anything on the other side. Either way, I supposed there's no point in turning back now." Turning to the rest of the party, he smiles, "While you guys work out the note, I just want you to know that if you hear me scream in agony, I want you to send in Sael after me." With that, he turns and leaps quickly into the black portal. He passes through it as if there was nothing there, and is gone in an instant. You hear hear nothing from the other side.
