@Invocation one last question: Does free will exist in this story?
-
Anything else you'd like feedback on?

That would be the Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks. Is this prophecy going to be the catalyst for a plot?
-
Sounds rather interesting. Keep in mind 'Lightbringer' is a term that has already been used in a well known fantasy series. The immortality part certainly intrigues me. The third line feels a little superfluous considering the same information is given to us in the second line. May I ask as to the in-universe origin of this prophecy? Some kind of oracle? Is the prophecy ancient and if so was it possibly subject to mis-translation?

Star Wars Ep 9 The Rise of Skywalker
Pagliacci replied to Briar King's topic in Entertainment Discussion
True. -
Elantris was my first Sanderson novel. Took it with me for a holiday. Biggest mistake of my life. I had to wait until the holiday was over to rush to the library to borrow as many other cosmere novels as I could. One of the less polished of his novels but still very enjoyable. The Emperor's Soul is amazing.

Star Wars Ep 9 The Rise of Skywalker
Pagliacci replied to Briar King's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I'm bursting with excitement. I haven't seen a new Star Wars film since TLJ (Have not and will not watch Solo). I personally disagree with the Force Awakens being considered a remake of A New Hope but that's a discussion for another time. Here's to hoping for a great finale! -
Man walks into a Azish clinic to see a doctor. He tells the doctor he feels alone in an uncaring world. The doctor says "Treatment is simple. Go see the great Worldsinger Pagliacci. He'll make you feel better." Man bursts into tears. "But doctor," he says, "I am Pagliacci."

This probably isn't relevant now but Brandon actually did a project-in-depth episode on TES https://writingexcuses.com/2012/11/11/writing-excuses-7-46-project-in-depth-the-emperors-soul/

How pumped are you for the Gormenghast show?
Pagliacci replied to Pagliacci's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Neil Gaiman's producing it... I think. Apparently a writer from Doctor Who is writing on the show (I've never watched the show myself) -
Anyone else pumped for the Gormenghast show?

This is an interesting afterlife system you've developed here. So in this universe of yours the world has a finite lifespan, correct? Seeing as how the finite stage of afterlife correlates with that of the world. So there is a creation/destruction cycle to the world then. Interesting. I've got a couple more questions I hope you wouldn't mind answering (afterlife systems fascinate me so sorry if the questions are a bit excessive):
-
Pretty cool. How long would 'finite' be?

Faulty internet connection.

I accidentally posted the same thread 7 times in the Stormlight Archive section (Shard Blade Manifestations) Is there some way I or someone else could delete them? Sorry for the mistake. :/
-
Is it possible for spren to manifest not just as solids (spears, swords, shields) but in a liquid and gaseous forms as well if commanded by their Radiants?

Random Stuff X: Something Weird
Pagliacci replied to soyperson's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I was watching a Patrick H Willems video about shared universes. He discussed how more shared universes should be less like the MCU and only hint at a greater universe, with the occasional reference or character appearance. The whole time I was shouting "THE COSMERE! THE COSMERE! THE COSMERE! THE COSMERE! THE COSMERE!" -
I can definitively say what the blacks spheres are................ An important plot point.
