  1. Happy to help, best of luck!
  2. What is you favourite type of cheese? What would be the Lord Ruler's favourite type of cheese? What pokemon would the Stormfather use? What polytheistic god would you like to meet? How would you rank the star wars movies? But what about dragons?
  3. Raises left hand. May I join?
  4. I kinda wish Wonder Woman had fought alongside the Germans in Wonder Woman.
  5. I have to thank the fellow Aussie Shad from the youtube channel Shadiversity. Shad talks about everything awesome about the medieval period: swords, shields, architecture... and of course He recommended on one of his videos the book The Way of Kings by this fellow called Brandon Sanderson. I went to my local library but instead found Elantris. I took it with me on holidays and instantly purchased the Mistborn trilogy, The Way of Kings and got Warbreaker from Brandon's website. Shad also talks about fantasy races and what weapons/armour they would use/should be used against them. His content is excellent (Except for his TLJ video, but that's just my opinion) So thanks, Shad!
  6. Theatricality and deception are powerful agents against the uninitiated.
  7. You've got the groundwork for an interesting worldbuilding element here. From what I've read I'm assuming anyone has the potential to harness this magic, so one's class and influence is probably determined by one's aptitude, no doubt the upper classes would hoard most knowledge and understanding. It'd be fascinating to explore how control over natural forces could be implemented in a nation's development (control of weather, temperature, etc) and in warfare (earthquakes, bush fires, absence of/excessive rains). The technological aspect is interesting as well. Would there not be an entire industry of artisans that could sell their services to craft such designs? Watchmakers? On the whole this magic reminds me a lot of Allomancy, particularly in how it fits into the worldbuilding. The main differences (to me) being anyone has the potential to harness this magic (however without the knowledge exclusive to the elite this would be difficult) and that these powers are potentially much more devastating/influential on a continental scale. Does this magic have any thematic relevance/importance in this story of yours? Hope this helps!

  9. The Skulduggery Pleasant books did something like that.
  10. Figure out what purpose those characters serve and see if you can give that roles to pre-existing characters. (longer response pending)
  11. Can you lucid dream? Would you rather fight a a swarm of bees with teeth or one giant bee with claws? Do Voidspren dream of enraged sheep? Have you ever heard the tragedy of the Lord Ruler? If nothing is faster than light how did the dark get their first? If you could meet one polytheistic god who would it be? What stories do you write (other than RPing if you do that)?
  12. Nobody expects the Shard of Inquisition!
  13. I just realised the relationship between Roshar and the Parshendi is kind of like Sparta and its slaves. Also no more dead people being revived please.
  14. How much time would I have to put in? (I don't mean to sound lazy, I just want to make sure I can commit the appropriate amount of time to this) Might I ask how you got started @Sorana? Just out of curiosity.
  15. I'm considering it yes. Not too sure though.
  16. I would get a cute little video game box and give it the command 'Be More'.
  17. Um... hello.
  18. Finished Russian Doll. Reminded me a lot of The Good Place. Which is always a good thing!
  19. Might I suggest the podcast Writing Excuses? This episode discusses Brandon's process of creating WoK which touches on the worldbuilding: https://writingexcuses.com/2012/06/10/writing-excuses-7-24-project-in-depth-way-of-kings/
  20. I remember he mentioned somewhere that he had like 150k words of worldbuilding for Roshar. Also considering how unique the environment on Roshar is I'm assuming Brandon would want to ease us in. I would suspect as the story begins to span all of Roshar instead of mainly Alethkar we'll get to see more of his world. 10 400k+ books is plenty of space for gradual worldbuilding.
  21. Does pepper exist on Roshar?
