Mid-Range Game 42: The Auction of Lord Winsting
Furamirionind replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ok, but those were all a long time in the past. I wasn't even in SE in any of those games. The shard game I played with you you were lynched C2/3, but you were trying to get lynched, so you can hardly count that. You then survived for quite a while past that. My point is that making game decisions out of fear for what happened a long time ago I don't think will be fun for either you or those you are playing with. You also didn't address the part where I used Striker as an example. When he came back from his Hiatus he was lynched D1 something like 4 times in a row, and after that I don't think survived past C2 for even longer. But instead of becoming less active, he became more active, and stopped getting lynched that early quite so often. You are getting less active, but according to you this isn't stopping you from getting lynched early soooooo... Maybe a different tactic? : P -

Pyro, for what it's worth, I've never played a game with you where you were targeted C1. C3, sure, but not C1. I think you may be incorrectly remembering past games. Also, Striker has the same problem where people always want to lynch him C1, but he continued to be active and showed himself to be a valuable villager, making people reluctant to vote on him early. I'm tempted to vote on you for this, but you've said this every game I've played with you as well, and I don't think you've been evil yet. Hmm, I next quoted Xino, but I don't remember why, so I'll get rid of that for now... Ooh, I'll have to write these down for future Anon games... Hi Karnage, nice to see you again xD I actually didn't think the game started until tonight, so I'm not completely prepared. Lol. I also haven't read the rules in a long time... So I'll go reread them and get back to you. : P Wait wait wait, I don't intentionally try to make it hard to read me... I just do what I think is fun on the given day. screw the consequences. xD You know what, Karnage : P -

Wait, I just realized I was sabotaged... For some reason I thought I went insane from wind, which wasn't even possible... Was I just attacked as I claimed Namer? Namers are scary, though I felt pretty comfortable claiming it as I thought I wouldn't pose a big threat to people, obviously not being the Namer killing everyone. Lol I really like this idea. I always like rolling elim, but I was really scared of it this game as I didn't want to sacrifice my Naming for my team... Lol Granted, after seeing this game, I'm not sure it would be a bad idea to throw multiple elims into Naming in the future... xD Next time this is run, I'm going to try to convince my team to go half/half on Physicking and Naming... That sounds like a fun elim composition xD IIRC, all the Edema said they weren't planning on gambling in the Edema PM... I like the concept of the Windy Tower, but it is really powerful. Lol I think if the price on the Golden Pony was to drop, it would serve as a good "neutral" option as it also makes spreading votes less dangerous. Especially in the mid/late game this game, when a single person just threw a vote on someone else at random, it was a bit frustrating as a single person can get someone roleblocked or expelled. Even me when Devotary, myself, and someone else was up for the lynch and I went to spread votes out (I just realized I voted on 2 elims there ), I don't think I should have singlehandedly had the power to diminish the power of the lynch like that. Making it remove a full DP (assuming before Masters place DP) I think would be really good, as it means that people will at least have to get 2 people voting on someone to definitely get stuff to happen. I really like that last idea, and would make having a plumb bob used on you super fun as you can potentially screw the user over once you're enraged... though if that was the case idk if people would go for plumb bobs as only the first question actually definitely gives you good info? Hmph. : P- 951 replies

Well... I'll sign up as Muriel Ladrian. I originally was just going to say spec doc, but with the LG ending and so many people in this game, I'd be kicking myself if I didn't join. -

You were good. It was actually just an educated guess, not something I could confirm without you at all. I was just tired of knowing more about the Physicking, Linguistics, and Alchemy than I did about my own field. As there had been 2 elims killed (presumably through naming) I figured a decent powered Namer was out there, and I had already narrowed down the field significantly by asking people like Burnt and Elkanah for their Elevations. You being the Namer in question fitted made my life easy, filled the most naming slots and generally made sense as to my profile of who the Namer killing elims was. Due to this, I just decided to go for it. You easily could have had Elevations in R&L, Sympathy, or Arithmatics as well If anyone cares at all, this is what my resulting spreadsheet looks like: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12IGQ8KANfJr-fe1599EnyI8XYxWQts56Gqumw9NywpA/edit?usp=sharing I was fliping between Bard going into sympathy or R&L, so I'm somewhat happy with that guess as well. xD Edit: I spent many many hours trying to automate and statistify (made up word) data in it... but I didn't succeed and the result is what you see. The failed stuff I ended up deleting.- 951 replies

Long Game 65: Dancing through Life
Furamirionind replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I almost took that one. The only reason I didn't was because I was already trying to accept 5 other contracts, and didn't have a ton of motivation to RP. @Young Bard I took a contract to give someone a hug, so I used my action to hug you the turn you were expelled. I meant to RP it in thread, but RP was a struggle for me this game. Perhaps I should have gone back to the tried and true Memoirs, but I didn't. @Karnage Ooooohhhhh, I'm so sorry for focusing so hard on you. I should have been able to figure out you spied on my PMs and that's how you knew of what I'd done. So the only PMs you spied on were me asking Araris and Lopen if they were in Imre, which I can tell you, is not the fishing-est thing I did this game : P- 951 replies

Long Game 65: Dancing through Life
Furamirionind replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Couple preliminary thoughts: Thanks El and Wilson for running this game. It was a lot of fun. It was really strange, the power in the game was overwhelmingly elim until like, 4.2/5.1, at which point it basically flipped. Due in large part to Araris. It was always my plan to go into naming, however I really didnt think it was going to be such a contested field. I figured 4/5 people might put EP in it, with maybe 2 focusing it. Due to this, I figured if I could get a single elevation semi-early on in the game, if it was naming, I'd basically be set all game, even if I didnt get my pipes. I did end up getting my pipes though... Getting roleblocked on the same turn I was elevated was very annoying, as all I wanted to do was to have some fun with wind... when I was roleblocked again, I was very sad. :'( though I quickly became quite amused by it instead, hence all the jokes about staying roleblocked. My plan was to attack Bard with wind, as I flipped on whether or not he actually was an elim too much in that game. Now it seems my attack wouldnt have worked anyways, however what ended up happening was I WAS ROLEBLOCKED AGAIN because I was on the streets. >> Also, I think half of my problems this game were just from the fact I've pulled several all nighters over the past 2 weeks... I tried to edit my spreadsheet on a particularly bad day, and I ended up putting all my stuff in 4.2 rather than 5.2... and that really messed me up. *sigh*. Anyways, I played pretty poorly this game, though I AM really proud of my spreadsheeting. I made 4 pages of analysis on fields, then started doing massive amounts of PMing to gather info, and was able to infer a ton of stuff. Did that stuff help me at all? Well... no... it didnt... but I still knew stuff before I died, so I'm happy with that at the very least. XD Mostly im just proud of calling Araris focusing Naming, though honestly maybe that actually wasnt too difficult of a call.- 951 replies

Unless it was counted as a joke? Are jokes lies? We all know the statement to be false, and she knows we know, and we know she knows that she does not expect us to be convinced... So is it really a lie? @little wilson @Elbereth Could you provide some insight as to how jokes work with this ability? EDIT: Why is everyone PMing me litterally 10 minutes before rollover??????????? Lol, nice. Ok well... I keep missing 11am, and freaking out just to remember that's not rollover anymore. >> Fura(3): Burnt{2}, Araris{1}, Araris{2}. Burnt(2): Elandera{1}, Elandera{2}.Elandera{3}, Elandera{4}. Elandera(1): Lopen{1}, Lopen{2}, Burnt{1} That's what I got. I know you've been shifting to me being evil for a couple turns now, but I can't remember if you ever explained why? That being said, I'm thinking Burnt or I are probably the best lynch. Burnt, I enjoyed our PM, I did... But to be honest I'm not super suspicious of many people right now. I trust Elandera, and your votes throw me off a bit. You vote on two people, then talk about being nervous of expelling too many people? But then again apparently I missed Lopen's votes on Elandera and now I'm confused again... sigh So my options basically involve voting on Elandera/Burnt, and increasing the chance they are Expelled... But also keeping the chance all three of us get expelled high. Or I can spread out votes... Wait a second, WHY IS KARNAGE A MASTER???? Did I just not see this before? I'm now upset. Lol He was who I was going to vote on. >> Someone please kill him? Please? Please? Please? Please? Please???? I'm going to do some stuff and come back to the thread later... My head isn't completely in this game right now... Edit: I just remembered Lynches don't give us much info... I no longer think I'd be a good lynch. xD Edit again: Walin was a Master, and Hael was about to be one. Seems like elims were focusing certain fields mostly. Edit: Welp, now I've sent PMs to almost everyone in the game just this cycle... hope people can get back to me? : /- 951 replies

I'm not sure I like these ideas xD No Nalroot for me, don't listen to Devotary A Straw/Burnt elim team would be really cool where Straw gets elevated in Naming or something, and then fake claims Linguistics after becoming master Namer... then went Insane to Naming as the Physicker is dead... Though to do that effectively he would need to have a good idea of who else is going into Linguistics to make sure he wont get caught... so not plausible... Really cool tin-foil though. Also... I'd still need to reread your analysis to agree with you on the you being confirmed, but It's probably fair to at least give you slight villager right now. : P Oh really? Ok, that's pretty good then. Unless you are an elim with Straw Edit: "You Can’t Stop the Beets" ... Hmmmmmm : P- 951 replies

I was actually considering saying more or less the exact same thing. The only reason I didnt is because I have a history of trying to promote game-wide information spreading, which a lot of people dont like... lol. Anyways, needless to say I support this idea. : ) I agree on Burnt. I PMed you a while ago and you never responded =( Lol I really shouldnt like it when people read me as such as much as I do. XD I'm all for greater suspicion on Karnage, but I'm not completely sure this matters? Just saying, Straw would have had 4 actions, all of which he could use for the lie detection action (which I didnt realize was possible until Straw said so). Due to this, while he was checking Karnage, he would also likely have been checking 3 others. Knowing who Straw targetted before, the elims may have figured there was a good chance Straw would target one of them next. I also just realized Rover was expelled... idk what to think about that... that's good if he is evil, though not good if he is not evil... On another note I dont really understand what happened with all the stuff with who was expelled and who wasnt expelled and... my not being something... I'm going to go over that more later I guess.- 951 replies

Thanks Straw. xDDDDDDD Edit: Someone please scan Straw this turn? : P Edit again: That's fair, but I don't know the language he used. He has been dodging the question for 2-3 turns, or 4-6 days now, and has had plenty of time to think up a response with loopholes. Is it possible he learned from someone in an elim doc who learned from someone else via PM? There are just too many ways without my knowing the wording this could be unreliable.- 951 replies

Long Game 65: Dancing through Life
Furamirionind replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This exemplifies the issue I have with Linguistic Analysis. The GMs are going to have to choose if this is a lie or not, and what they choose may not be accurate. Assuming you are village, you say the word accidentally, which I know is not the case. Therefore you are lying. On the other hand, you obviously are joking, and therefore are not lying. So you are both lying and not lying, and makes the entire thing really frustrating. xD I will point out Hael tried to get her expelled a couple turns ago. So, you have Experience as slight elim because he is a master? That's fine, though I am wondering if there is anything else as well. ; )- 951 replies

The elims played really well this game. I will say that I was suspicious of Elbereth for a while, but then forgot why, and didn't g back... and then I died... : / But I also typically get a slight gut elim read on El, so I sort of just disregarded that, which I probably shouldn't have. Drake, I'm sorry for doubting you in the Shade doc. I should have known you were village. : P Sart, that really was excellent. Yeah, I think that's all I have to say. Not a great game on my part. Lol Edit: Oh yeah, and sorry for going completely inactive after I died. Between irl stuff and focusing on the LG, I basically forgot about this. : /

Long Game 65: Dancing through Life
Furamirionind replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I've already admitted to fishing for info. We all know I did. And as Devotary said before, I do it regardless of alignment. I did this in LG49 (neutral), LG50 (elim), AG5 (faction), and LG56 (village) just to name a few. It will come back as true, and you wont know any more for that scan. Edit: ok... I'm starting to hate linguistic analysis. Lol. Well, following Karn's Statement, either Straw and Karn are both evil, or they are both village. And Karn, everything you explained about your suspicion of me is NAI for me, which has been pointed out be the (curently) most village person in the game. If you have something else I'd like to hear it. >_>- 951 replies

Long Game 65: Dancing through Life
Furamirionind replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I thought the Noble roleblock was going to be negligible, and therefore Nobles would be OP in the game. I'm not 100% certain, but based on my limited knowledge they don't seem anywhere near as OP anymore.. Yeah, it would be a bit odd if you take it seriously. It was meant as a sort of joke/not-joke, as I wanted nobles to be spending a large portion of money on contracts. Buying bodyguards would interfere with that. Eh? I mean, I expected these things to be a lot easier to dodge by high amounts of content and by saying stuff that is ambiguous. For instance, if I lied somewhere else this turn, I'd just say that I actually lied here. I normally talk to GMs a lot in games, so if they are reading my PM, it wouldn't be hard to fake a lie, or create some intentionally that I could fall back on. I'm surprised by how effective the ability has been. I did mention earlier as well. Yes, but I also explained this pretty well, going as far as to break down my own post. I... This doesn't help. The reason I'm asking is because you have inside information. Info you shouldn't have. I have tried to fish for info from 3-4 people. Not all of these people have publicly spoken against me. Some have me as fairly strong village reads. There is no reason they should have told you I was "fishing", because if they thought that was suspicious, they should have said in thread, or if they didn't, they shouldn't have told you. All in all, the fact you have this inside info is very suspicious, because the best explanation I can think of is one of the people I PMed is an elim with you. That is honestly the most likely thing I can think of, without you giving me more insight as to why and how you have this knowledge. Until information becomes public as to how you have this information, I encourage anyone willing to vote on Karn. And like I said, I'm not moving my vote until I get an answer.- 951 replies
