  2. rereading my post I actually might have misused the term so my bad. It's a weird term, I just used it as a short hand for what I was trying to say cause I'm tired. Lol What I meant is that you're like... You seem so obviously an elim to me I don't think you are one. There really isn't any hard evidence to support you're an elim, it's just your tone, who you're defending, how much, things like that. But you so consistently seem mafia to me I think it's your playstyle. I think if you were mafia it would likely be less consistant and I would flip flop more on you as you try to suppress suspicious tendencies. Edit: granted, I do flip flop a lot on you, but not for the reasons I think I should be if you were elim... So essentially I've temporarily cleared you in my head for a cycle, to re-evaluate with more information and context ED2T: Also I find numbers and percentages very useful. What that means is while unlikely, its very possible someone could use the blade today
  3. I believe the day is ending soon. I'm fine with a lynch on Ventyl, Gears, and Grammar... Maybe experience but probably not? I'd have to reread him. No idea where the vote on Araris came from. I think Quinn is open-wolfing and she's relatively new (I think) so I don't think she's evil right now... Subject to change later. Also not sure why Sel is up for lynhc. Didn't people say they usually bandwagon, yet they are being voted on for bandwagoning? I think? Would have to reread through D1 again but I'm concerned why no one is talking about either Illwei or Grammar. Usually v/v lynches in my experience don't just stop existing after they are miraculously diverted away... but with 5(?) hours until rollover, we need to start consolidating votes as there is 3 vote manip things out there, and for all we know the elims might have gotten Kelek's blade... (Though I don't actually think they could use it yet as the wielders probably doesn't have stormlight)

  5. I'm not sure if this conversation will go anywhere... but the counter lynch is still there. It doesn't have to be started by elims for elims to use it. Full stop. Lol. So we had 23 players in this game. Up to 25% of these players could be elims. If one of those elims is put up for the lynch they will try to get each other out of it. Villagers might disagree with the lynch or might agree. This let's us establish patterns... like being the lynch target the entire cycle only to last minute have it shift to someone else. It also doesn't matter why the votes were there initially. That was to generate content. It did, and I think that content to be condemning. Thank you for pointing out my incorrect remembrance of the rules... however this doesn't take away from the point. There are lots of possibilities to what could have happened in a cycle. That was my entire point. Lol

I believe that's a bit of a simplistic way of looking at votes... she survived because people came out to defend her halfway through the cycle, and then people jumped on a counter lynch last minute... So assuming Connie was an elim, why didn't they use vote manip to make sure she survived? Well, it's possible they did. Danex could have, but he was minimally active, and may have forgotten to submit an action. Perhaps also the elims were willing to risk a 50/50 chance because if they used vote manip its more likely Connie would just die the following turn, so by risking her life, they have a greater chance long term of her surviving. These are both possible... while I don't think the first is likely, its still possible. I've also seen the second happen several times. Basically my point is I don't think your point detracts at all from Connie likely being evil. And while i don't like information lynches cause they're not fun, its worth mentioning even if she flips village we still learn a lot. Edit: or any of the things eturnum said. Thats probably more likely than my examples... but there are lots of possibilities which was my point (made better by him)
  7. Alright well thanks stink cause now I can post instead of edit. I think Gears analysis is good.. though I'm not sure what implications it has on him. I do think that a wgg is unlikely, but I definitely still don't trust matrim much. I'm going to vote on Grammar I was suspicious of you before, and you survived a lynch... that's pretty bad. Your flip also significantly tells us information on many other players. Plus another reason I may or may not share later on in the cycle.

  9. Yeah, just to reiterate what Araris said, Alv's signature thing is tied lynches... or actually... any kind of RNG. He'll choose an RNG option over a non-RNG option almost literally every time... That being said, that doesn't invalidate suspicion on him for doing that necessarily. I remember I defended him once for doing that as he typically does, but then found out after the game he was evil and it benefited the elims to have a tied lynch as one of them was on the chopping block (I don't think that's the case here though as he wasn't the one to propose the tie lynch idea)

  13. What if it's happening in thread and the IMs say nothing? What if the IMs are part of it? My point is the problem is out in the open and no one cares. Do you think if someone physically beats someone else up in public they should need to walk over to the police station to privately file a complaint? NO! Instead, people around (or police if they're walking by) should interfere or call the police themselves. Straw, you have never been able to read anything I've posted... Possibly ever and understand. Lol You're taking what I'm saying to an extreme. This is exactly what I'm saying. There is a big difference between someone's playstyle changing your opinions of them or your interactions with them, and saying that player's playstyle is bad, invalid, wrong, needs to be improved... etc. And there's also a big difference between that happening once or twice... and regularly, in public, with no contradictions from anyone. Striker for instance had a playstyle and way of speaking people always thought seemed like an elim... Whether he changed a bit to make himself less suspicious or whether we got used to him and were able to read him better... is irrelevant. However people (from my recollection) did not constantly criticize him for always seeming like an elim. You used to be inactive/minimally active in every game you were in. Did people tell you, "you need to be more active"? Inactive players are a part of playing these games, and while it's not super fun and can break game balance, people accept that. I specifically remember people saying, "Oh that's just Straw"... And people said the same thing about Xino and Ark before they became active too. What people don't accept, is people with drastically different playstyles than themselves... In LG50, CadCom tried to intentionally make himself sound suspicious so in a future game when he was an elim he could sound suspicious and people would think that's normal. He was lynched D1 for that because that is a tactic that takes away from the game. It goes against the village wincon, and makes the game less fun for everyone. Village and elim. It's not a real playstyle. Having an erratic playstyle does not do this. Being erratic but still working towards the village goal rarely detracts from the game itself. Am I saying it should never be criticized? no. Am I saying there should be no consequences for it? no. But what I am saying is I am freaking tired of the constant criticism about a playstyle in general. TYP for instance has a playstyle that can be very frustrating to work with sometimes... But being frustrating doesn't mean it's invalid. He still works towards the same goal, and having him in thread still moves his team towards the winning direction. Are there consequenses to him playing like that? Sometimes, yeah. But should it be acceptable for people to say things along the lines of, "Pyro, when you're in a game it ruins the experience for everyone. Learn to have a valid playstyle and play the game right"... NO! Because he is playing the game right. EDIT: I would like to add I do think if the game is filled with eratic players, it will become much less "SEish" and much more like other mafia communities... I wouldn't like that a ton, but I don't think it's my place to say what our meta should be. But just as that's true, having no erratic players makes games much less fun. One last EDIT: This is important so I'm bolding it. One thing in American culture, is we don't like people to say they are hurt. That means they are weak. They should get over it. They probably aren't even hurt in the first place and just want to be the victim to get attention. This is an attitude I've seen here as well. It's not surprising, most of us are from America. This isn't ok. Needing the person who made the offensive comments to apologize before anyone will admit anything was wrong, is WRONG. People getting hurt is real, and a long standing refusal to accept that anyone could possibly be getting hurt is immoral. This issue can be found in American culture when addressing LGBTQ+ or black people specifically. People will argue that discrimination and racism don't really affect these people. These people should pull themselves up by their bootstraps and stop playing the victim card... Not realizing just by saying this they are perpetuating a problem... The same can be found here. When it comes to an SE-er's actions hurting someone, all of a sudden actions don't matter anymore. That person needs to tough it out and stop playing the victim card.
  14. I believe we have an issue as a community where we don't care about what people say. The reason I keep leaving SE, is I get tired of having people constantly criticizing my playstyle and saying the way I enjoy SE is invalid. My first game back, and it's happening again. (Surprisingly and disappointingly not to me). There are certain players in this community who I really hate their playstyle (you know who you are : P)... But I don't take issue with them playing that way. I only hate when I am forced to play that way. While we may get frustrated at each other for viewing the game in fundamentally different ways, most of the time people agree that as long as you aren't making the game less fun for everyone else, you can play how you want. My issue, is while most people feel that way, some players seem to think it is their job to tell people the right way to play. My issue is that no one contradicts these people when they try to tell others what to do. Perhaps people want to stay away from drama or whatever. I understand that... However, how would you feel if someone IRL put you down for being yourself and no one stood up for you? There are thousands of specific examples I could use, but I'll let you all fill in whatever your first thought is. I don't think this should be acceptable behavior. I'd now like to quote something from the SE Rules: This fundamentally is pointing out people have different playstyles. We have always had to deal with various conflicting playstyles, and we always will. There is, of course, a point where someone's "playstyle" detracts from the overall fun. This is why mayor-ing is discouraged. However, I think something people are struggling to understand is that there is a difference between, "frustrating for you", and "detracting from the fun of the game". If I decided to vote randomly every single game, that would detract from the game. That's not the game, nor how it is made to play. However if I appear to be voting randomly but claim I am voting logically, I may be frustrating to play with, but people can ignore my lack of logic and move on. In conclusion, it's easy to be a bystander and let someone else get bullied. I want part of the SE "meta" to be we don't allow people to bully others.

There are 2 Honor blades with vote manip, and Kaladin also has vote manip. There are a lot of people connected to Connie (Gears, Quin, Matrim, and I think one other I'm not remembering right now) In a game with 23 players, there could be up to 6 elims... Given the ruleset I think 5 is more likely... but technically it could be 6. If the honor blades are purely random, the elims almost definitely have at least 1... Ok I was saying this to get more people to vote, but more people have voted. I've updated the count hopefully accordingly. Honestly Illwei's playstyle seems like mine on steriods... So I'm not sus on her for taking her vote off. Lol Who do you suspect? Personally I think there is a somewhat likely world right now where you and Condensation are both elims. Well, I don't like your playstyle, Gears... Roasted. Lol In all seriousness, if we want to have a meta discussion about what respectful ways to play the game are, let's do that... But lets try to have that discussion in a respectful way?
  16. Idk, this might be true for newer players, but it absolutely isn't for players like Devotary. Personally when I'm an elim I put way more effort into understanding the rules. Lol people have tried bargaining for a glimpse… Also... subtle acknowledgement of being the stone shaman? : P I mean, Mat is acting very different than when we were elims together... But I believe he was a new player then so it doesn't mean anything. xD

Everything seemed NAI or elim-y to me... except this last post. It's making me doubt my vote a bit more, but I'd have to keep reading, because one villager-y post isn't enough to undo a bunch of elim-y ones.   18. You pointing out someone else's logical issues doesn't mean they are elim or you are village. It can often lead to them being an elim, but as I mentioned before, I'm biased because I know how Illwei talks IRL and it's exactly like how they have been talking to you. This makes me less likely to think that it is alignment indicative. Like I said before, if someone that knows them better in this game contradicts me here, I'll bow to their knowledge... However one person has already said this is normal for Illwei and no one has contradicted them... The reason I think you're an elim is unrelated. See, elims benifit from making others look like elims, so the fact you have pointed out flaws in what she has said does not inherantly make you village. It's NAI. However the way you say things seems to me to be coming from an elim mindset. The part where you said, "does anyone agree" really got me before I saw Eturnum already pointed it out. I think the best lynch is one of you two as we will learn a lot from either of your flips, and I think assuming you aren't village you're probably an elim. Assuming Illwei isn't village I think their more likely to be a neutral. Hopefully it makes more sense this time than last time I gave my explanation. I still might change my vote, but it's because I see a better target.
