Long Game 65: Dancing through Life
Furamirionind replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I was wondering why an Edema had so much money after tuition... xD Ah, an Araris Stab(tm) vote, I see. : ) Idk how AI spreading the votes is. I normally have little sense of self preservation in these games, but a mix of how cool this game is, and how easy it is to save yourself... I was hard pressed not to spread the votes 2 turns ago when I was a bit nervous. Honestly, CadCom and I have been in the same boat most of this game, and I'm a bit biased now due to PMs, but I'm somewhat more reluctant to have him expelled now. @STINK I'm kind of with Straw on this. Randomly throwing people up for the lynch towards the end of the cycle isnt useful. In fact, I find it rather suspicious. Idk the vote count, but I'd vote for STINK over this.- 951 replies

Sorry for not voting. Sleep schedule is as bit off track, despite me supposed to be getting on track starting last night. I'm a bit busy right now, but I'll be back later today once hw is done.

Ok, rereading Fae Lore, Xino's interpretation makes a lot of sense, as does the question now. I'm leaning back towards village on him.- 951 replies

gut elim read on kidpen

Why? I can understand the first part of your post, but I don't follow this train of thought. also, the Mist lynch train is very strange. I'm pretty sure I tried to start it last cycle and it didn't take off. There is no new information on them now, so why did all the people change? They might be sus, but they aren't on the stat's sheet, so it's definitely their first ever game. Even being sus, I'd like to leave them alive another cycle or 2 at least?

Long Game 65: Dancing through Life
Furamirionind replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Oh no, Elandera. Now you have me paranoid. - _ - Like, seriously, you're right. While I don't see the fishing aspect of Xino's post, that question really isn't villager-y. Now, being Xino, I still have my doubts on how AI it is, but it's definitely sus. So, if this question was either a joke or the last question in the list (like an afterthought), I'd absolutely write it off as NAI. But with it coming first, it makes it seem to me that this is the answer Xino cares most about, and him being a heavy RPer, elim!Xino would absolutely have this question. That being said, now I'm thinking about it, with Xino being a heavy RPer, he still might consider this for 1 of two reasons: He might consider RPing with an elim, and thinking both him and the elim might be putting in RP actions, he asks this question as the RB might get in the way of RP. He might have been considering, if RP actions had an effect on things (like showing up in the writup or PM changes), we might be able to catch out an elim on an RP action. This possibility alone probably makes it a worthwhile question for a villager, actually. So basically you've put me on the fence for Xino, but I have liked him most of this game, despite not really analyzing him. That sucks, but explains a lot. Lol Correction: which fields. As all three of us were elevated in 1 turn, we all have to be in different fields. Now... that gives the three of us more info on this than the rest of you, but you can probably make a couple guesses. Granted, there always just is the chance we got unlucky as well, so who knows Lol- 951 replies

Wait, I overlooked that. Wow, so I reach rank 1, at halfway through the game, and am now stuck here for longer. *sigh* Well, At least I know I'll be next in line for master after whoever is ahead of me gets there first. If the elims want to kill them, I'll look the other way- 951 replies

OH MY I WAS ELEVATED THIS IS A MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!! And... I forgot to RP... So this will be fun... Aaaaand... I'm roleblocked for 3 turns???? There is a non-zero chance at this point I have enough EP to just shoot to master in my field... so I might be a master before I can use a single action. This is going to really suck xD- 951 replies

I'm going to sortof pick on your choice of the word "fault" here. Because I don't fault TGK for that choice either. And I suspect El also doesn't. You are right that people respond differently in PMs, though from my perspective, the PM didn't seem driven by reactions. Due to this, I also do not fault El for making this public, as she is seeing it as AI, which I think is fair as well. edit: can I make a tl:dr of a couple sentances? too bad, I'm doing it: Tl:dr, no one is at fault, and I think there has been a misunderstanding somewhere. : )

TGK, the great thing with the SE community, is we are ok with off meta stuff. I didn't understand the theory behind this game to understand meta stuff at all until I was in the MU Championships, and saw all the different metas everyone played with. So much of that game was different people with different metas arguing about which one was the best. For instance, I was voted on because I RPed a tiny bit, and someone there thought that was AI. Even now, I don't understand enough to be a player Like El or Aman, or anything close. But I just play this game to have fun. MR35 I played where I claimed elim several times, posted nonsense, argued to keep an outed elim alive, all despite being a villager. LG54 I practiced no PM safety despite being one of the 2 most powerful roles, and basically gave the elims the win MR39 I tried coordinating an in thread series of actions to find the elims. (something very not in the meta here) I did these things to have fun. It wasn't "wrong" for me to claim elim, though some people might have found it suspicious. It just was off meta. In MR39 Rae tried to kill me for organizing stuff in thread, because it was off meta. What I strongly advise, is to find what about these games you like, and do that. If it's analysis, do that. If it's PMing, do that. If it's claiming elim in-thread, do that. I don't care. Some people may react in ways you don't agree with, including voting on or killing you, but that's all just a part of the game. I'm sort of going to respond for El here, as I'm going to assume she is busy, but it's a continuation of what I'm saying. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to play this game. your PM was off meta, which some will consider to be suspicious. In MR39, I was almost lynched for trying to organize stuff in thread. I was off meta, and people found me suspicious for it. This is why I specifically said that I didn't find you suspicious. Just the way Striker talks a lot of people find suspicious. There is nothing he can do to control that. But it got him lynched C1 for several games straight when he first came back. El referenced she is getting mixed signals from me. That's just how I play. The "best" way to play would be to always sound "good" right? Well, very few people can, are willing to put in the effort to, or even want to try to do that.

I'm a bit busy right now, but your vote sounds like it's based on something you can check with the GMs first... @little wilson @Elbereth If I was/am not going into the field of Rhetoric & Logic, would this count as a lie? Idk if this will be a PAFO or not, but RP is a fine line... And I could totally see it being close enough to be a lie. I don't blame STINk for bringing it up. Edit: Kynedath(6): Lopen{2}, Lopen{3}, Hael{1}, Hael{2}, Karnage{1}, Karnage{2} CadCom(4): Fura{3}, Fura{4}, Devotary{1}, Devotary{2}Fura(2): Lopen{1}, Straw{1}, Straw{2}Devotary(2): Araris{1}, Araris{2} STINK(2): Xino{1}, Xino{2} Mostly I'm just getting a bit nervous Xino just added a 5th person who is going to get expelled this turn. Lol. I am confident we aren't all skindancers... And this is just a lot of people to expel at once.- 951 replies

Long Game 65: Dancing through Life
Furamirionind replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Oh wait, is it still this? (ninja'd Karn, edited into votecount) Vote Count Elendera(2): Fura{1}, Fura{2} Fura(2): Lopen{1}, Straw{1}, Straw{2} Devotary(2): Araris{1}, Araris{2} Kynedath(4): Lopen{2}, Lopen{3}, Hael{1}, Hael{2}, Karnage{1}, Karnage{2} In that case, I'm going to @Straw as I'm a little sour he is still voting on me. There is also a possibility of all four of us getting expelled, which I'm not super fond of... But it does say a lot about the people voting and being voted on. For instance, the elims don't want to get expelled, so the fact that no one is spreading out the votes would imply the elims aren't (too) scared of getting expelled. Anywhere between 1-5 people up for the lynch, all those being voted on (if my math is right) have a very good chance of getting expelled. If the elims don't think they can make people move their votes, then they would spread them out. I don't really want Elandera expelled unless we have a conversation about her. CadCom on the other hand, I'll be fine with getting expelled regardless. Elandera Elandera CadCom CadCom Edit: Vote Count Elendera(2): Fura{1}, Fura{2} CadCom(2): Fura{3}, Fura{4} Fura(2): Lopen{1}, Straw{1}, Straw{2} Devotary(2): Araris{1}, Araris{2} Kynedath(4): Lopen{2}, Lopen{3}, Hael{1}, Hael{2}, Karnage{1}, Karnage{2} Edit again: I did a reread of many of my previous games last night, and I'd like to point out to Straw that you apparently just have an issue with my play-style in general. Edit Again I just realized the elims wouldn't be scared if they have vote manip. I'm now pretty sure they have that. My guess would then be that since this is the first cycle votes aren't being spread out and there hasn't been much discussion, one of the people elevated this turn is an elim and just got vote manip. Seoras (Haelbarde), Kendel (Elkanah), Maern (Xino), Catalan (Coda), Lasko Veitch (Karnage), Amila Tays (Zillah), Arael Solon (Araris), Lin Wa (Walin), Leo (Lopen). Is this a bit of a stretch? yes. But I'm bored.- 951 replies

Oh really? Idk how I missed that. >> Yeah, like I said in the PM though, I'm not going to vote on him until I read through his past games to see if it is AI at all. Currently I'm inclined to think he is a villager who thinks that people talking about lynching him in-thread is a waste of time/resources... Which as you point out, is quite the opposite. I understand the suspicion on Aman, but I don't agree with it. I think Rae's poke was pretty NAI of Aman unless you assume he is one alignment or the other... Then it's super AI I guess... But assuming alignment gets rid of the point of making things AI xD. It's definitely worth remembering for future, but I can 100% back up Aman's claim of him supporting his elim teammates. In all the games I "recently" played with him, he has done everything he could to keep suspicion off them, going as far as to bus himself in LG56 and another game I spectated more recently, but I don't remember the second game's number. Heh, always. =) Also, it's a gut read, but El feels villager-y from that post to me.

Long Game 65: Dancing through Life
Furamirionind replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
You've been one of the few people posting the majority of the turn. Don't worry about it. : P I mean, I understand that, and agree. Just something I try to keep my eye out for are little things that I think would be unlikely for an elim to think of saying, even while trying to come across as cleared. So while I agree, this is just something I find unlikely to be coming from an elim. That paired with his drive for more village info and how we have very similar reads, Marking him as anything other than village (for me) would be outrageous. Though I'm not advocating others share my read, like I will sometimes do. So take that as you will. Well, I might not be attending the University next term either... So \shurg (Awww, I just reminded myself Araris isn't in this game, and I'm sad now :'( )- 951 replies

Ok, so I kept my vote on Mist because I really thought people would come out to defend her, but... only Elandera did, and she wasnt even Subtle about it. So I'm thinking Mist might not be an elim amymore. @DrakeMarshall I cant vote on you because you are always village, not because you're returning from a hiatus. Also, I'm going to have to break that rule of mine this game as about half the players fall under one of these categories. Speaking of drake being village, I think Drake is 100% village... unsurprisingly lol. (1) Mist: Kidpen, (5) StrikerEZ: Karnage, Elandera, Mist, TGK, BR (1) Furamirionind: The_Archivist, (1) DrakeMarshall: Sart, (3) The_God_King: Elbereth, Striker, Fura (1) Kynedath: DrakeMarshall, (1) Archivist: Megasif For the record, I'm fine with the Striker vote, though I dont have much of a read on him. That being said, I'm going to vote on TGK as I think that will (potentially) best give info to the next cycle. Mist TGK
-
Actually, I've seen Stick, Drake, and DeTess all use it before... And a quick forum search shows me in addition to those three, it's also been used by Elandera, CadCom, Sart, Striker, Aman (predictably), and Megasif. : P But... I mean, it is a lot less used here. Lol At least I stopped using terms like CFD and such... Though I still really like the term "thunderdome", and if one ever happens here, I'm totally calling it that xD

Long Game 65: Dancing through Life
Furamirionind replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Alright, that's fair, though I am adamant that I have done nothing worthy of a protest vote (Especially since I really want to be elevated at least once... :'( ). I also think you are misreading, or possibly have completely forgotten, what I've said. And honestly I think you've been tunneling on me for a bit now, so I'm going to go through what I said. I voted on Silber for the assumption that no elim was raised to El'the. I voted on him because if my initial interpretation was correct, I might be able to catch out an elim. However, I also knew there was a decent chance I'd be changing my vote by the end of the cycle. Even the sentence, "And... Hopefully you wont mind holding on to these votes for a little while? =)", at least in my head, already implied that these votes were absolutely not permanent. I said, "If this was anything other than your first game, this would probably singlehandedly make you my highest suspicion." for 2 reasons. The first was to convey the message that I, again, am not sold this lynch target. And the second was to hopefully make an elim!Silber nervous so that he'd make a mistake. Silber's initial reaction did not convince me of his innocence. So I didn't take my votes off because I wanted to watch how the thread interacted with my votes. After watching Silber and anyone referencing me or that post that cycle, I decided I trusted Silber. That paired with the reasoning I gave in my previous post this cycle is why I trust him so much at the moment. Every action I took was genuine, despite my thoughts in between actions perhaps being delayed I believe this interaction is the sole reason you are voting on me, and hopefully this has clarified things somewhat. Edit: The most beneficial (and fun) thing to do with voting in my opinion, is to vote early, watch how the game shifts, and then either keep the votes there or move them. I practice this.- 951 replies

Long Game 65: Dancing through Life
Furamirionind replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
While I can see your point, and I think a villager would very possibly have this perspective, I don't see it as excusable. We all have two votes. How we use these votes are going to be the main way we analyse this game. By only using one of these votes, people are denying the village information on people's stances on the lynches. Double voting on someone, shows far more willingness to let that person take consequences than single-voting. For instance, perhaps Walin comes online afterwards and decides to put a single vote on Bard and a single vote on me. Now we are back to an odd number of votes on Bard, which would have been even if someone who didn't use their second vote had double voted. Or what if people suddenly left Bard's wagon to hammer someone else? We don't know how many people would leave. Like I mentioned in my previous vote analysis, single voting on a target is a form of hedging on the lynch. Both villagers and elims will do this, and it's ok, but I think it's worth remembering. I'll do some more analysis either later tonight or tomorrow morning, but CadCom has been in all of my lists of people I should be suspicious of, as well as I have been just generally feeling pretty off about him. While I think too many things about Elandera still seem strange relative to Bard, her response to what I said is quite reasonable, and I'm now doubting myself... I do find it strange though that people were constantly talking about how suspicious she was in pretty much all of the previous cycles, I connect her to Bard, and the only response I got was Lopen voting on me. Where are people's thoughts and responses? Elandera, CadCom, And Devotary are probably my greatest suspicions... More or less in that order. And... are these votes in protest or because you think baiting is AI?- 951 replies

Cool, I look forward to your next post explaining what you found suspicious. = ) hehehehehehehehe. Good summary of my playstyle, you just made. : P Also, I see no explanation. Your previous post made it seem as if you were unsure why you even voted me. Perhaps that's a village sign? I wouldn't know though, as I don't think I've ever run into this before. xD I'm going to keep my vote on you for now, but I'm not 100% sold on it. How dare yo... Oh whatever. : P Nice to be playing with you again... And... now here comes my old problems of literally always trusting you unconditionally. xD My brain wants to read your single analysis post as village, despite it being, perhaps, the most NAI thing in this thread. : P
-
No, this is the part where you reference you will be gaining suspicion for starting a train other than Rae, and gain suspicion for stating that : P Yeah, BR basically was the first real vote on Rae, with reasons. And Sart got her lynched, so they both should probably be village. I'm actually really suspicious of Mist right now. I went offline immediately after my post and didn't see they had sheeped me onto Kidpen. I find that very suspicious when they voted on me for voting myself? ( @Mist I'd still like more of an explanation on that please xD ). Before my post, the lynch was Arraenae (2): Brightness, Megasif DrakeMarshall (1): xinoehp512 Furamirionind (3): Furamirionind, StrikerEZ, Mist xinoehp512 (1): CadCom Sart (1): TGK An elim would want to keep a player higher than Rae. It's possible Mist gambled on joining my lynch in the hopes I wouldn't return to vote (which did almost happen). Why they would have followed my vote to Kidpen specifically, I'm not certain. However it is possible they felt they needed to leave my lynch, and wanted to vote on someone with a vote. Without a votecount in front of them, they just sheeped me for ease. This is all speculation, but it's the best reasoning I have for Mist's actions, unless Mist wants to give me better ones. As Sart got Ninja'd, this is also the votecount he had when voting on Rae. I'm tempted to speculate about a Sart/Fura team, but for some reason I find that unlikely... Anyways, Following Sart's vote it now looked like: Arraenae (3): Brightness, Megasif, Sart Kidpen (2): Furamirionind, Mist DrakeMarshall (1): xinoehp512 Furamirionind (1): StrikerEZ, xinoehp512 (1): CadCom Sart (1): TGK This means that anyone who posted after Sart could have equalized the vote on Kidpen. These people are The Archivest, Kynedath, and TGK. I'm not sure this is really clear-able though, as there would either need to be a last minute bandwagon on Drake/Fura/Xino/Sart/Kidpen. This would really incriminate Rae and those participating in the bandwagon,as she would likely get lynched this turn. This means that while I think they might be slightly less likely to be elims, it's probably not a big thing. I'll add I'm not super fond of TGK removing their vote last minute, but from what I'm gathering of their playstyle, this doesn't seem unlike them. At least until Mist responds to my questions, I'm going to have my vote on her. Mist Edit: I actually wasn't going to mention this in-thread, but I was considering if I rolled elim this game, getting my teammates to bus me cycle 2/3 to try to influence the roleblock. However, this happening in C1 seems a little early IMO. Also, surely they would either bus someone not playing their first game in a while, or would at least give her a cycle to play? Idk. It is a valid point though... That technically both BR and Sart could still be elims.
