    that's 100% purposeful for later in the series. mat gets better, WAY better I agree with you for the first and third books, and kinda on the second. After that it gets a LOT better, making it worth it, even with the boredom of the others.

    Today, I've felt like everything I do is wrong. That everyone else is loved, liked, appreciated, and nobody likes me. And I'm just so storming done. It makes me hate the shard, discord, real life, basically everything but my cat. And I don't know why I'm sharing this, but I'm having trouble coping with it. I feel like everyone hates me. ,

    INCORRECT! (Sorry i just wanted to be dramatic ) In Bands of Mourning, Marasi and the rest of the party stored weight in the unsealed metalmind, before knowing what the metalmind was. Therefore, we can infer that you can in fact do it subconsciously!

    What exactly is the meaning to this? Grasshopper Ranger?

      Heh. The first three words do mean grasshopper in Korean - 'mettugi.' The latter two words are in Mandarin Chinese so that's a different language - "youxia", which is not so easy to translate as it belongs to a Chinese literary tradition called "wuxia." I don't really know if there's a great equivalent in the English tradition, though maaaaybe a bit like Arthurian tales or Robin Hood's adventures.

      Youxia are romanticised lone heroes who go through the world living up to the various tenets and courtesies of the martial arts world, and often righting wrongs. (I think that's the safest way to put it.) So uh, grasshopper folk-hero? (I left the name for a RP game that was supposed to be wuxia-based on this forum but due to time commitments, the other dude and I never managed to get around to it, and I never changed it... :ph34r: )

    I had my first wrestling match of the season! I lost, but that guy was REALLY buff! I didn't get pinned! He almost strangled me though! Also, the braces I got last tuesday have almost stopped hurting my teeth enough that I can eat regular food! Wrestling is fun! Ramen is delicious! I don't know why I'm putting an exclamation point after every sentence! YAY!

      @Ark1002 Ahhh sorry about that! It's not an error with your computer - I actually turned that setting off for my profile when I made it: I have a problem with my own tendency to be full of myself and arrogant, and so when I made my profile I chose to switch off that option to prevent my head from swelling like a balloon :-P I'm honoured that you do want to follow me though!
