  1. Stormlight spoiler because I can’t remember which section this thread was in.
  2. Out of curiosity, do you know where this was said? I only ask because of the battle scene in Oathbringer which seems to contradict this.
  3. It would require very specific information about the origin of that chunk of Iron. It’s possible that it didn’t all come from the same star. Some of it might even be from decayed heavier elements (not sure on the process there and I don’t have time to look).
  4. I agree completely. Not every character needs to have Kaladin’s back story. Sometimes people are just well adapted and capable. The interesting parts of Raoden’s story where discovery and learning. The interesting part of Sarene’s story was the intrigue and maneuvering. I’m curious @Calderis how you feel about Shai’s lack of personal emotional struggle in The Emporer’s soul. She is effectively the same character as Raoden, only more competent and in a different setting.
  5. Juicy truths. Dalinar/Nightblood romance.
  6. A plane figure with three straight sides and three angles.
  7. I’ve always wonder if you could use a Spren as a sheath for Nightblood’s handle so you could hold it without getting eaten. It would probably hurt the Spren but not destroy it as long as you don’t keep Nightblood drawn for to long.
  8. They probably wouldn’t even need the surges, just the living Shardblade. They could write Aons on the sides of the blade with a thought.
  9. Like dividing by zero? -Pattern
  10. Elantrian Feruchemist. You could store constantly and just let the Dor stop the negative effects. You would basically be a gold compounder. You could also potentially use Nicrosil or Duralumin to use Aon Dor while away from Arelon. At the very least you could use Nicrosil to maintain your Elantrianness while away from Sel. edit: you could also use copper and zinc as an Aon library, and steel to draw them almost instantly.
  11. The Prince of Nothing series by R. Scott Bakker. Put on your big kid pants for this one, it’s easily the darkest series I’ve ever read. Horrifying violence (rape, murder, execution etc), makes it almost painful to read, but the compelling plot and interesting characters keep me going.
  12. Marasi, Wayne and MeLaan from Scadrial. The first two because their powers are probably the key to Scadrian ftl. MeLaan as an agent of Harmony and companion of the others. Lift from Roshar, because her abilities seem to be uniquely designed for it.
  13. Toss them Nightblood. It’s highly unlikely that they would know what it is out of hand. They’ll either kill themselves and save you the effort, or prove that you shouldn’t be trying to kill them in the first place. Also, Elantrian in Arelon (as many have said before).
  14. All of the parts are encased in metal, so the entire computer would just appear as a glowing blob to Ruin. He could however take control of someone with enough Hemalurgic spikes and have them get up to all kinds of mischief with your ebooks.
  15. Lightweaver/Stoneward - make something soft then send sound waves through it.
  16. If I held Ruin I would become Everything.. because nothing else would exist.
  17. Elantrian for sure. You can't cheat your way into it like you can everything else. Also it's the most powerful and versatile system. And they look the coolest. In reality I would probably be a 3rd or 4th century Skaa. Live a hard life, lose everyone I love, die young.. like 99% of people in the Cosmere. It's a tough place to be normal.
  18. Why would he need Battar for this? He could just destroy the planet himself.
  19. The Nightwatcher. Gotta get that boon baby.. and the curse.
  20. He's only picking up a bond so that he can call himself a Hoidbinder.
  21. "Order from chaos" is pretty much the definition of Cultivation, so do with that what you will..
  22. At that point, Kelsier had passed Preservation to her. She had not yet fully assimilated the power, but she was Preservation.
  23. @Pathfinder I can’t be bothered to read all of that. I got as far as your Vin at Kredik Shaw example. Vin wasn’t fueled by Preservation there, she was Preservation. She was fueled by Preservation when she killed Rashek. Huge difference.
  24. The so called "exposed head" belonged to a pewter burner. It isn't Shardplate, but it isn't exactly a watermelon either. I haven't seen a reasonable counter to F-steel anywhere in this thread, so it could easily get to that point. We have never seen Renarin (or any other Stormlight user) get their head crushed. According to Ivory it is the most effective way to kill someone holding Stormlight. Your examples depend on the Heralds having access to powers that we have seen no sign of anywhere in the text.
  25. Exploding headbutt. Gold compounders do not need to be sick. They store a very small amount of health and then compound it into unlimited health. This is not accurate. One person with a hammer or mallet (or F-steel and A-pewter) could kill him by crushing his head. That is the preferred way to kill a radiant. Rashek, on the other hand, says that he has been decapitated in the past. Gold healing seems very much superior.
