  1. I suppose in the long term they would be likely to draw a Spren given that they already did once. They could easily break out with the Stormlight surge they would get from reswearing their oaths. Also, given that they already progressed through the paths once, they might already be in a place where they can swear the all at once. For this reason, I would advocate cutting out their eyes, ears and tongue, as well as destroying their voice box. Also cut of their hands just in case. All this would be done after their initial healing which saved them from the stab wound in the heart. It might also be worth damaging their brains enough to keep them docile but not kill them. Maybe cut out pieces until they die and then heal back to just before death? Seems like it could work.
  2. It would put the Spren into a fugue state if they broke their bond wouldn’t it?
  3. I wonder if burn Ettmetal makes you into a a Feruchemist, but only a Mistborn can burn it?
  4. I was wrong, the best way would be to nail an aluminum spike through their heart with the intent of removing their powers. Then heal them with Progression and lock them in a mundane prison.
  5. Drill a hole in it until you hit their face, you would need a way to get Stormlight to them anyway since they would have third degree burns all over their body and to keep them from starving.
  6. Cast them inside of an Aluminum sphere with a large enough radius to contain them.
  7. Cohesion and Adhesion is a new combo.
  8. In the post credit scene in Oathbreaker, Hoid recognizes one of the Fused from pre desolation times. This makes me think that there is very little that Hoid does not know about Roshar and it’s inhabitants.
  9. I thought it was implicit that climate change would be the driving factor for said famine or nuclear apocalypse. Sorry for not being more clear.
  10. Your use of the phrase “over regulated” as some kind of catch all for economic apocalypse makes me think that you should seek some variety in your news feed. I’ll also point out that your “poster child” economy in Era 2 is in fact a massive central government imposing huge taxes and impassible trade barriers in outlying settlements. This has put the entire continent on the brink of a civil war. The actual best example of an advanced economy is Arelon/Elantris, pre Reod or post Raoden. All basic necessities are given as a right, and people only exchange currency for non necessities. People can spend their lives in leisure and dedicate themselves to whatever their passions are. This is likely where automation would have eventually taken our species, but instead we will all probably die in a famine or nuclear war sometime in the next few centuries. edit: grammar
  11. "I am, unfortunately, the Hero of Ages" Still kills me that I didn't see it.
  12. I got Kelsier, which is pretty cool, but lets face it, I'm really just some nameless Skaa that died off page.
  13. @Karger In defense of your theory, love almost certainly has a metaphysical component in the Cosmere through Connection, so there may be some validity to your idea.
  14. That is an accurate description of my world view, though I would caveat that I doubt a human could conceptualize any of these massive systems (like emotion) in their most broken down forms. The quantity of information is just to vast. It’s like trying to imagine the scale of the Universe. There isn’t an apt comparison that can be used. We simply lack the Capacity (I’m looking at you Taravangian). As to the second part, I think it also comes down to capacity. You could describe blue light and all of the human systems that are used to perceive it, but it’s to much information for a human to conceptualize.
  15. Of course it doesn’t.. that isn’t at all what my statements imply.
  16. I’m answering since you asked a direct question. All of our feelings, sensations, moods, etc. are the result of our biology. Biology is underpinned by chemistry which is itself underpinned by physics. So to answer you question, no I cannot describe it. I lack the tools and understanding. That does not however mean that it cannot be described down to its last quark and photon.
  17. It could become that, but again, only if one of the parties involved is advocating the existence of magic. Otherwise it can be characterized through a description of the various particle and field interactions that comprise it. Obviously we currently lack the tools and understanding to properly describe it, but our lack of ability does not default to supernatural underlying causes. edit: you are also correct that this will endlessly spiral into philosophical debate, so I will let this stand as my position on the subject and let it rest.
  18. I mean love can ultimately be described through physics, unless you believe in magic.
  19. @Pathfinder wouldn’t it be Tension and Adhesion? I could be wrong.
  20. Voidbringers cannot be Bondsmiths which makes my choice pretty easy.
  21. I want to see Wayne tell Lift that he’s a Slider, and then have her argue about how that’s dumb because she is obviously better at sliding. edit: I’d also like to see a scene where Wayne is sucking up to Lift by making her lavish meals as a way to get her to fill up his metalminds.
  22. Forkbattle between Edgedancer and Mistborn. Wouldn't want to be arguing over the wrong thing. I mean a Mistborn obviously wins a spoonbattle, but forkbattles are an entirely different animal.
  23. The fact that exactly 16% of Scadrians are Mistings makes me think that, despite the genetic aspect, there is something else going on under the hood with initiation to the metallic arts.
  24. That should actually work. You would basically be pogo sticking across the sky. The only issue I could see is that your pushes would be really weak because you would be storing during them. At the same time, your anchor would gain a ton of momentum from how hard you are pulling on it while tapping, so it would probably balance out.
  25. I don’t disagree with what you guys are saying, but I don’t like the idea of authors changing their main characters simply to check a box. They should write them how they imagined them, whether that be gay, trans, straight or what ever else.
