You mean THE Greatshell? I can see that to. Let's remember though that there is something important Chasmfiends that BS won't say flat out(referencing the smokey death spren) , and the chart...is ominous. There's something going on here. God I need more info. 3.14.14! Edit: corrected spren description.

Bloodmakers don't have a second Feruchemichal ability, so they would have to be Allomantic iron or Allomantic steel... That being said, they only method is to wear out their goldminds or blow their head off. If the former, Uzi. If the latter, sniper.

Yes her gift. Others have posted wonderful illustrations of the Surge-binding tables, and both the gift, and chasmfiends are depicted on it. Granted is a tenuous link, but BS isn't known for wily nily let's throw this in here.

I think Gamma had the best answer as she didn't technically 'take' the power quite yet. I just recalled that she was being flooded with knowledge like how to heal Elend and assumed that nugget was in there.

It's interesting how people react to chaos. The movie The Mist makes very interesting points. (I'm paraphrasing): "You take away everything they know keeps them safe. No police. No paramedics. No electricity. You put them in the dark together, and you scare the This post has been reported for attempting to skirt the rules out of them. Suddenly the rules don't mean anything anymore and they'll do anything to make it stop." The bold is important to my point, as seen in Steelheart, an island of stability of any sort, in a world that seems to be falling apart would attract anyone who has been displaced. More importantly, Mr. T is in prime position to offer the world a solution to make it stop. As for the idea about Tanavast not sending multiple visions, there is a lot of speculation that is exactly what he is doing/did. The Hierocracy being an excellent example.

I think they do pupate more than once, but the WoK Chasmfiend is the final adult stage. The WoR Rysn interlude contains the first or at least early stages of the fiend IMO

Something that occurred to me while reading about Darnam' s ideas concerning the South Pole. Presumably, TLR knew the Well would refill over time. He planned to retake the power and start the whole process over again, to prevent Ruin's escape. Although the Terris religion believed in Preservation and Ruin, I don't recall wether or not it propagated the idea that they were at the WoA itself. This means that Rashek learned of the Well' s purpose from the Well itself. So why did Vin release Ruin? I thought at first that Vin simply hadn't absorbed that knowledge yet. On second consideration however, I realized that time is severely distorted for anyone holding the power of Preservation. In HoA Harmony mentions that TLR held the Well for mere moments, but to TLR those moments are stretched almost infinitely. Is this an oversight? Or am I forgetting something?

If you don't know what metal #9 is, it hasn't come up yet. Vin has quite the..experience.

The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
DocHoliday replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It's been said that the Mists of Scadrial are similar to the Highstorm of Roshar. Is there a relation to the Mists Snapping with Leras "occupied"; and the intensity of the Highstorms power after Honor was shattered ? -
So I'm rereading WoK and I came across one of Shallon' s early POVs and she is taking about Jasnah Soul-casting the stone to smoke for Mr. T. Well she mentions that the Almighty has a second name that only Ardents s are supposed to speak. Elithanathile. One Who Transforms. What's more, she goes on to say that he created Roshar. WoB is that Tanavast came to Roshar with his humans. Yet Rosharans believe they must retake the TH; which they must have lost prior to the "creation" of Roshar. Why is there the belief that they must retake the TH when "God" cava can and had recreated a world for them to prosper on? Further more, why is Soul-casting believed to be the singular domain of Honor? Surge-binding(yes I know Transformation is a Surge) seems to be more along his lines. Battle Arts. I would attribute Transformation more top Cultivation, but Honor gets all the credit. Any ideas or thoughts?

Will Dalinar learn how Kaladin became a slave, in WOR?
DocHoliday replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think it's inevitable that Kaladin will completely release his hatred for Light eyes by the time he's a full KR -
Will Dalinar learn how Kaladin became a slave, in WOR?
DocHoliday replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
Thanks for calling me a troll. You can disagree with my opinion, but that really wasn't fair. IRL you do realize that African Americans are the same species as Japanese or the French. The only difference between them are margins marginal physical traits. People still pick on those physical traits and disregard an entire culture for no better reason than their SKIN color. We name them racist. Kaladin picks out a physical trait and assumes everyone who has it is morally inferior to himself. For no better reason than EYE color. I call that racist. Hope that clears up some confusion. @Eveorjoy (Holocaust): That is a very interesting point you brought up. I'm not saying that Kaladin or the Jews don't have good reason to feel how they do. But if you look at their actions, it really is a form of racism. You didn't mention a specifically why the Jews would be, but in the years immediately after WW II, I can definitely imagine a deep mistrust of anyone German. But it is still racist IMO. -
Our Sun ( Sol if your interested in knowing) will eventually turn into what is known as a Red Giant. It's a process every star undergoes in its life time. It will expand to such a degree that it's circumference will likely include Mar' s current orbit. It will also "burn" much colder than it does now. Luckily that won't be for a few million years. The light it emits will indeed be red. As I pointed out with the ashmounts, and your friend reiterated, atmospheric composition affects the way our eyes perceive the light. As a final note: I don't care a whit that you're disappointed. You posted something that was rude and very ignorant,. I'm certain that you didn't question your friend's intelligence when he was talking about red light, so why is acceptable to do so on the internet? A little courtesy would serve you very well.

300 Spartans stopped a million men. This wall of text could stop the Final Desolation. Oh BTW OP: Starts slow clap. I so believe you are the first neophyte in my 11th order of the KR. I hadn't posted it, as it seemed everyone was more interested in Kaladin And Amaran, but Mr. T (LOL) has been a subject of much of my time recently. +1 sir!

Will Dalinar learn how Kaladin became a slave, in WOR?
DocHoliday replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
Look, I'm just going to point a few facts out here. REGARDLESS of wether Amaran' s actions were right wrong or in the middle; the OP is about whether Dalinar will find out. Kaladin is a racist. He hates or at the very minimum has an incredible mistrust of any Lighteyes for no other reason than physical traits. This was caused by TWO people. But only one of them did he grant any (large) measure of belief in. That person is about to join Dalinars current nemesis. If you think our budding KR is going to keep quiet or only grumble to Bridge 4, you need to reread WoK. -
I didn't realize that was open to interpretation. You have my SINCERE apologies. Sun rise/set is red because of the light bouncing around a longer time in our spherical atmosphere before it reaches our eyes. This causes the wavelengths of light we see to decrease in frequency resulting in a orange to reddish light to our perceptions. Thank you sir.

Ah, TY for the correction.

It is stated, by Dalinar I believe, that gemstones cannot be Soulcast for some reason. Going off the idea that gems are rocks, it SHOULD be possible. So . Perhaps your idea about gemstones= gemhearts might have merit.

I've never read the blogs (if that wasn't obvious).
But I'm in the same boat as you in regards to the task Brandon was handed.

All things aside, o think it's just my fandom gripeing about the characters. I grew up with the series and practically worshipped the books for years. So to see itfinished a little off kilter just catches my goat.

BS got pitched a mean knuckle ball, and he got a nice line drive off of it. I just wanted a homer.

What happens to Parshendi when they die?
DocHoliday replied to IllNsickly's topic in Stormlight Archive
The Physical manifestations rot. Spiritual/Cognitive is still a possibility; especially considering thier propensity to bond different Spren to create new forms. Note: I do not endorse this idea, I am speculating. I personally believe Parshendi move to what ever after life awaits in the Spiritual Realm. I personally believe Chasm fiend are a splinter species/evolved form of the bug Rysn receives in WoR/ Darkness pulls out to eat Stormlight. -
Am I the only person who felt the characters were just a little....wrong? Almost like charachitures(sp?) Matt cussed just a tad to much. Perrin was a little too sullen. Moiraine was more dramatic than I remember. Not to say it was bad. I love BS writing. But I could clearly discern where RJ ended and BS began.

LoL I just ranted an another post about this. Please read it. Books 4, 5, +6 are some of the best in my opinion, though the series slows a bit after that. In short it becomes more character driven, rather than plot driven (oppose the DO). Lots of action. Lots more POV: this is how I feel about THIS new development.

Am I the only person who enjoyed CoT? I LOVE Mat Cauthon, and watching his true genius go to town was wonderful. OP:Lots of our co-readers talk about how the series slows down in the second half. If you have read the first six books then keep the following in mind. The first 2 books were almost exclusively Rand. The next book included the Wonder Girls. This did not diminish the series. It ENHANCED it. The next books included ALOT more of the Wonder Boys. This did not diminish, but ENHANCED the series. As time goes on, the WoT becomes less about Rand and more about the world. More and more characters are added to the WoT with every installment. The Wheel of Time is not Rand's story. It becomes the story of an end of an Age, the end of a world, and this is EVERYONE's tale. There will be parts you have to slog through, I'm sorry. But if you're going to take the leap and read it all; I recommend NOT breaking between books. There are MANY characters by the end of A Memory of Light, and MANY MANY sub-plots that you will completely over look and miss out on if you do take time between. This is a world rich in detail, I sincerely hope you enjoy it as much as I did over the last 20 years.
