  1. And who took that freedom away to begin with? Dalinar may have sacrificed hiw Shard for Kaladin, but Amaran sacrificed Kaladin's freedom and his men for his own greed. If Kaladin dosn't go beserk at first sight of Amaran, he will accuse and challenge him Im betting. oh the look on Amaran's face will be priceless. Would have made a great cover for WoR. Edit: +1 Kurk. Spear in the knee lol...Skyrim much?
  2. That pose is incredibly awkward for Kaladin. For anyone who thinks hes in balance, I invite you to try and assume that pose yourself. (I just did) Even accounting for the spear as a third point for him to balance himself, that is not a battle ready stance. If anything it looks like he just got hamered by an overhead attack and he had to get beneath it to stop the glowbag from being damaged/destroyed.
  3. I agree with you. He isn't getting more powerful with each victory, which is why it seems a very bad idea for him to be Investing in anything at all. this would weaken him, possibly substantially, if he has to por more of his essence into Parshendi than Honor did into humans, Im not seeing a net gain here for Odium. Yes he can knocK 1 (2) Shards of his hit list, but he wants to take on the remaining 10 or so, and lets not forget Harmony. Hes goingto need EVERYTHING at his disposal to knock that apex Shard of the pedestal. In short, yeah, he needs to out think Honor and Cultivation. Pouring Investiture in to his "chosen species" however seems...brute-ish. He needs to be crafty and outplay his opponents, not outfight.
  4. ......>.> ....... <.< Shardblade on a stick anyone? lol but seriously would such a thing be entirely unfeasible? Shardblades are near weightless and are overly long, 6'- 8' if we discount Szeth's. Thats the length of most spears folks. is it theoretically possible to wield a Shardblade as a spear? or is the Blade as big a danger to the wielder as the foe? Yes some are ornate and have huge cross guards, or wide blades, But Elhokars has a thin blade., and Taln's little more than a long shiny spike. Also do the Shardblades have to be swords in the longsword sense? could they be more along the lines of a glaive or naganata.Theres a weapon (cant think of the name right now) that is about 5' long and is 50% handle and 50% blade but wielded in a fashion reminiscent of both spear forms and sword forms, easily learned by someone familar with one or the other. Could be an alternative for Kaladin.
  5. Personal fav: Llarimar and Lightsong are captured in the cage, and Llarimar confesses to how Lightsong is his brother, but in a much larger sense is really his God as well. No because the priests say Returned are Gods, but because he chose to him as his God. Really opened my eyes in RL
  6. Exhibit E: Miles Hundred Lives There are NO Heroes and Viliians. Only people with plans and agendas.
  7. I believe everyone is forgetting an essential aspecr of Feruchemy. 1 hour of Filling a Pewtermind with 50% of your strength gives 1 hour of +50% strength. OR 29-30 minutes of +100% strength (to account for the diminishing returns principal). The same can be applied to Feruchemical gold. We are not certain how much either Sazed ofr Wayne were tapping, but if they really needed to get up and in the fight now then they can tap all that healing in 1 burst. Also to keep in mind, Filling Feruchemical gold at 2% for 8 hours a day for 2 weeks, isn't the equivalent of filling 75% for 12 hours a day for 2 days. So arbitrairily declaring that the Feruchemist whos been Filling for a longer period of time is misleading.
  8. This seems like a major hole in your theory to me. Odium's interest isnt in creating armies and worshipers or well balanced species. His interest is Shatering Shards. His perogative is moving from Shardwprld to Shardworld and inviting chaos and divisivness. WoB is that Honor came to Roshar with his humans already created. They were already formed upon arrival, so that predates Oathpact IMO.
  9. Do we have any instances of a Lurcher Misting Pulling on two anchor at the same time? I recall WoA, Vin swung a an iron gate into a Koloss and she felt that Pewter was the only thing keeping her in one piece. There is only so much stress the body can take and 150 lbs pulling on your center mass to the left AND another 150 to the right might have disastrous consequences.
  10. Just stabbing holes, but when Gavilar and Dalinar go hunting, 5 years ago?, Gavilar has kids who are 15+ years of age. In the Middle Ages of you survived that long you weren't thought to be in extreme peril of dieing of illness or some such and so house Kholin is pretty much guaranteed to continue. Also Gavilar is the first King of Alethekar in centuries I believe, so it's not like Royalty in the sense we think of. I.e. Tudors and Louises and such. More like Prince William living in the same house as a woman pregnant with his child. He's highborn, and he's going to do whatever he wants.
  11. I'm totally missing wanna at you are hinting at. There was a civilization once at the Shattered Plains, so it's certainly possible that the craters have been terra formed before our after whatever caused the chasms. I always thought of Crem kinda like sleet and ice, filling in cracks and crevices first then covering everything over creating a smooth outer surface.
  12. The time span between HoA and AoL I'd 100 years or so. Dalinar sees his palace being destroyed in his vision of the Final Desolation. Buckingham palace, RW, has been around longer than 100 years. So the Final Desolation from Dalinars vision could very well still occur in book arc#2. We have no time frame after all. I have to agree with Hoser, Odium wants all his power/Investiture back so he can get on with shattering the next Shard. My theory is that he didn't want to Invest but the Oathpact terms forced him to. The crux is, he can get it back, possibly in addition to some of Honors Investiture to fight Harmony. It's baseless, but I've never been able to figure out This post has been reported for attempting to skirt the rules he agreed to the Oathpact for unless it had the potential to pay off like the Lottery. I mean he didn't need it to shatter Devotion, so why Honor/Almighty?
  13. S.O.B. where did he lose fingers? He does/did have Lerasium, and theoretically he "knows what he's doing". Maybe he is a full fledged Feruchemist.
  14. 1: Miles heals at pedal-to-da-metal speed at all times, yet shot is Pushed out regardless.2: see#1 3: Now this I like. I can't find any inconsistency in it. Kurk? However I want to note that slivers in Miles arm are completely embedded in the muscles, other wise they would have been removed prior to his execution. Edit: >.< Swype!!
  15. LMAOEdit: have to add, that nothing more than a novelty is exactly what I've been trying tocommunicate here.
  16. I remember reading TEotW 15 years ago distinctly. When Rand somehow Travels to Tarwin's Gap he hears what I have to interpret as the Creator's voice. It says, and I'm paraphrasing, I CANNOT TAKE A HAND DIRECTLY, IT IS TO TO MY CHAMPION TO CHANGE THE COURSE OF THE WHEEL. Now the capitalization, similar to the DO.
  17. Ya, but what's the fuel do, over and beyond what the average Awakener does? We only get to see one instance of Susebron Awakening, and it's burly. But we only get to see it indirectly, and considering his massive amount of Breath, we just don't know whether or not Perfect Invocation is responsible for what occurred. perhaps it is. But the evidence isn't substantial enough for me to believe that it's the deciding factor.
  18. My feeling is that the coins would be going no faster than a regular Push. They themselves are not affected by the Bubble and are moving at real time speed. Because you're putting your weight against the coin, the coin is Pushed away; albeit slower to you're perception than in real time
  19. My feeling is that the g ground itself is shattered into pebbles and dust, that tube cracks are just smaller fissures rather than vast areas of demolished granite.
  20. I've got to feel Shardlet is on the right track here. Think of Superman punching a wall of metal. There's probably a hole. Directly around said hole the metal is brutally pressed onward and twisted. Around that damage the metal is likely buckeled and misshapen, etc...the damage grows less and less the further from the epicenter you get. Now if we assume that The Tower is the epicenter, and keep in mind the Alethi scouts haven't made it to the other side of the plains, or the center of the plateaus to their mind. Then the map Hoser linked us with is consistent with the damage.
  21. "Awakeners of the Tenth Heightening (Perfect Invocation) can draw more color from the objects they use to fuel their art. This leaves objects drained to white, rather than grey" (emphasis mine) I read this as it drains more color out of the object, not more fuel or of the object.
  22. That could also be a point of the healing, in massive Feruchemical gold amounts, occurring at the same time as the injury. The flesh reknitting together forces the owners out. Like a 8 people holding a sheet and pulling it taut to bounce something in the middle. Miles screws with our understanding of everything...
  23. You're correct, the grammar is unclear, but my thinking is that if he is a savant, it's in the mental metals, not the physical metals. TLR Soothes constantly, so I'd believe that, but Pewter? :/
  24. Vo was a Returned, so is LightSong, Susebron, Warbreaker, and BlushWeaver. If Vo held Endowment's Shard and not a piece of Endowment, then so did all the others....
  25. I'm just stating what would make an Awakener more 'potent', hence my "shock and awe". BioChroma in general makes colors more vibrant, the prism effect more like a status symbol than useful. We only see one use of Awakening from Susebron, but what's the relevance Kurk? All I'm trying to say is that there's no real relevance to draining color to white, unless Susebron is capable of using that grey color lower Awakeners leave; and that is a possibility. We just don't have the evidence. Now I like this idea about fueling Investiture better. It makes sense that a greater drain of pigmentation would provide a higher fuel to Awakening ratio, but again we just don't have enough evidence to support this conjecture. I need to see some more action from Susebron before I can get behind it.
