TLR was near savant, not savant. But I see your point. If I saw a cat talking I'd be like "el Diablo!! €|Diabloooo!!!“I think you're correct about the earrings and such as Terrismen regularly wear them, including Sazed. Also to note is that I don't think level of Tapping makes a difference. My champion Miles sticks himself with an Aluminum knife and it isn't ejected. I'm starting to think that perhaps Feruchemical gold doesn't affect anything the user doesn't want it to.. Edit: grammar..damnation swype

@Kurk. Ya "another FTL theory" made my head hurt Shardlet hit the nail on the head, it takes some forethought to execute but this might even work against a Lurcher if he didn't know which shrapnel he needs to affect. The whole business reminds me of the Ironman movie scene involving hostages.

Fixed up vote. Alright, so we can determine that Feruchemical gold repairs ones Spiritual Web, and bases what needs to be done to repair the Physical body by what the individual's sense of themself in the Cognitive realm is. Now in one respect, it makes sense that the Feruchemical gold' s attempt to heal Sazed body left the rings in on the basis that he didn't have enough Charge on tap to push them out of the body. However Miles has never been short on Feruchemical gold. That implies that the slivers in his body have been internalized by him to such a degree that he believes the Gold is a part of him. What about TLR? Before killing Kelsier he is run through by a spear. He walks and talks like it's not even there, implying he's tapping . Good heavily. He certainly didn't believe the spear was apart of his body, yet it remains jammed in his chest...?

Look man, I was reading that $#!+ today and my mother-in-law came up to me. Placed her hand on my shoulder and said, is okay dear, what's wrong? Evidently she thought someone had died by the look on my face.

Common knowledge to the Wizards of Cosmere perhaps I know it's knit picking, and you do have a point about minimally invasive surgery, but it doesn't say he used the healing. It could be a just in case scenario. And to the Kurk-Skaa line: I think you miss typed Kurk? Skaa states that the Metal-Minds wouldn't be affected by Sazed healing, but your interpretation is that metal is elected as a side effect. nevermind... @Shardlet. So you're of the opinion a wound that heals over naturally can't be Feruchemical gold healed? Or that it requires an individual to still Cognitively think of themselves as whatever they were pre-wound.
-
Which would be what? There's 1 Shard, 1 firm of Investiture. Color is fuel for that Investiture. White is useless for that Investiture. I repeat that Mental Command is the ' real' 10th Heightening and the rest is just shock and awe.

Alright I read through you and Phantom arguing over stumpage. Essentially you both came to the conclusion that 1 unit of healing and 100 units of healing can obtain the same results (exempting the unique case of regrowing limbs), albeit slower. Correct? BTW I read Phantom quoting the Sazed example, it doesn't say he used Feruchemical gold to take care of the wound. After all he wouldn't need a surgeon if had Gold, he could open himself up and heal. Which would still leave the HfGold theory open. But the Cognitive aspect...interesting. How one views themselves is what their template is. That would explain why Inquisitors Spikes aren't pushed out either. But does that mean a paraplegic, who discovered he was a Bookmaker years later, couldn't walk no matter how much he Tapped?
-
Ya I stopped reading after the 4th or 5th post...Still scars are of topic, why is the metal left in the body?
-
I had completely forgotten the Inquisitors scars. In your thread I'm leaning on 4.2 since any non-Hemalurgical healing we see leaves no marks. I'm off the opinion that running out of Gold during healing is similar to Stormlight healing, closing the smallest wounds, reducing the major ones. Not leaving scars based on the rate of Tapping, IMO As to the idea of shot being left in Miles'body. Bullets are almost universally made with lead, which is extremely poisonous in the body. You'd think that would be the first thing healing got rid of. Gold isn't readily poisonous, but slivers in the muscles would cause continuous damage.

This is one of the questions I had at the end of WoK. It was a death rattle that gave us the quote, so time and society haven't muddled it.Theoretically then we can call this a trustworthy source since we have no idea where these rattles come from. 3 of 16 once ruled, refers to Honor, Cultivation, and Odium. Which gives us the impression that they have seperate forces /kingdoms? that they lead. But now the Broken One reigns, begs the question, how does one whose power basis has been dispelled rule over 2 who are not? By consent. By the Oathpact. We can assume Odium is still restrained by it in some way since he's still on Roshar. The whole book takes place prior to a Desolation, during a 'peace-time', which is what Honor would have bargained for in a pact. My conclusion is that Honor is the Broken One, in a sly deceitful, blindingly obvious, way. Edit: grammar

Hoid has the Lord Ruler's Atium Bracers
DocHoliday replied to Phantom Monstrosity's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I understand what Kurk is getting at, I'm just not getting in the boat. To use your analogy, I'm feeling its more like iron oxide. There might be a wall in the way, but walls are meant to be climbed It'll be interesting to see how it plays out in Trilogy 3, when Hemalurgy makes a come back. -
I did want it to be Über, Mental Command is Über. The drain to white just seemed lame to me for something that only like 5 people in the world have ever managed. Neat, but not Über. I don't have Warbreaker in front of me anymore so Kurkistan's post cleared that up for me.

Look, pretty much this whole thread is spoilers, so if you haven't read the Mistborn trilogy and Alloy of Law, stop reading. Alright Feruchemichal healing, and some discrepancies I'dlike to see cleared up, has been bugging me for awhile now. As I understand it, it works on the basis that it has a template for the human body, and works to restore it to that original template when Gold is Tapped. Evidence that supports this is the obvious closing of wounds, the regrowth of skin from burns, regrowing of fingers and while limbs, and the reanimation of limbs damaged by Shardblade. During Saze's fight with Marsh, Marsh Pushes Saze's bag 'o goodies at him and the rings penetrate into his abdomen. Sazed (has to?) pull the bag out of the wound to allow it to close, but the rings stay within him. Why is this? The Gold should have rejected the foreign, and poisonous, metal from the body but it does not. Miles the Double Gold, is shot numerous times. During the warehouse scene, Wax gives him a double dose of bird shot at point blank. The pellets strike (Wax has anchor), penetrate (Wax has no anchor), are rejected by Mile's healing and pushed out (Wax has anchor and Pushes). Also Mile's bracer Metal-Minds penetrate the skin, why are these not pushed out? I can accept that they wrap around the arm completely, but what about the slivers in his muscles, there's not reason for these to remain in the body. Thoughts?

Just a note, Koloss can no longer be controlled through Rioting, they have no Spikes

In real time, yes the shrapnel is being slowed, but thanks to the Bubble, the shrapnel has been Pushed into a new trajectory. While it's nothing to the individual inside the Bubble, to the perceptions of others outside it would look something like this: John Doe is sitting at the table playing cards with his 5favorite chums, .45son the table; when the doors get kicked in by Joe, Moe, and Curly busting through. Curly and Moe throw handfuls of various odds and ends in a cloud right in front of them at the same time John Doe grabs his gun. Before he stands up Joe burns Bendalloy and the whole cloud comes streaking toward the table. John burns his Iron but even as the blue lines appear, death descends on the table.

I'm not implying that he's lying, just that what he said can be interpreted different ways. Something he loves too do.

Hoid has the Lord Ruler's Atium Bracers
DocHoliday replied to Phantom Monstrosity's topic in Cosmere Discussion
But Aluminum is an Alomantic ability. I can't see any reason why it should be outside the realm of Allowmancy all together, rather than particularly difficult -
Investiture is a tricky topic. My understanding is that Odium has a certain amount of Investiture in Roshar right now, that leaving the planet is difficult enough, or expensive enough Investiture wise, to keep him in it. The title The Broken One probably does apply to Odium, but more in regard to his primary characteristic of divisiveness. Interestingly enough it could refer to The Almighty if Isomere' s (Shardlet? I apologize, it's late) theory is correct.

I take no offense my friend (if I may call you that), but; and especially ; you have also inadvertently proven my/our point. Mistfeed should allow for the (P)ushing of Aluminum (LoL just noticed my Kindle has the Euro version stored, AlumiNIUM). Which raises another question in my mind, Do Shards (Preservation, Honor, Endowment) make the planet's they live on/influence? Or does the PoC restrict them to the biological playing field? And if so, This post has been reported for attempting to skirt the rules are Spren then? Wow, we're of topic; I apologize -
.....this has distinct, and devastating consequences........based on AoL events (warehouse scene) I think blue line would point to all metal regardless of Bubble. And the ability toline up Pushes free of distraction, would likely allow one to clear an entire room of baddies. O.M.G.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Spook had something like 12 kids? 12 kids had no kids? I'm sure that there is some measure of questionability about who is really descended from Spook, but that there is no-one? BS is toyng with us Id say.

Hoid has the Lord Ruler's Atium Bracers
DocHoliday replied to Phantom Monstrosity's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think in the external world (guns, knives, etc.) This makes sense, as far as Aluminum sheathing goes. We're playing with the idea of Aluminum piercings (although I think the same principal applies [and I also agree that Lerasium Mistborn couldn't manage the feat]) and whether Shard level power can influence it. I repeat, that given Harmony's ability to manipulate the planet, it seems likely he can Push Aluminum. A possible hole in this theory is that the Aluminum (in the Crust/Mantle) is Pushed in conjunction with the rock of the planet. I.E. Push on the Iron situated around the planet and everything else moves. I state this because I'm not stubborn in the idea that I'm right, but that I wish us to be able to extrapolate the TRUE nature of Allowmancy. If I'm wrong, please prove it or provide a contrary example, it's been done before, and I'm sure Kurk has the know how and Phantom the quote -

DocHoliday replied to Phantom Monstrosity's topic in Cosmere Discussion
So I just want to clarify that you're interpreting the Aluminum sheath (possible or not through electroplating) as a firm of bonding the Aluminum to the Bracers/gun? Cause I was just thinking of making an Aluminum mold and filling it with Atium. Our would this have the same effect like Warbreaker' s Phantoms? Ignoring the outer layer but affecting the innards? Here's the problem in HoA the world gets pushed around. You're telling me he can't Push Aluminum when he does that? -
LoL WoB trumps anything I have to say.
