  1. That's why I advised that whoever has the other (and presumably last) set of binoculars needs to either not claim, or be very careful with their claims. So this cycle presents an interesting element, due to time of year. If the inactivity filter works the same as in the past. , those that haven't commented may not comment due to one of the largest holidays of both Christian tradition and the Commercial world. Actually, that's just Elkanah, and Devotary. So they may both end up getting on to at least put a comment down. Who knows. ------------ Joe already said he was not an elim, but this post does show he is trying to trace items. Somewhat suspicious, in my opinion, but not worth a vote from me yet. Actually. I changed my mind after a few minutes of running around like a headless chicken. I understand the reason Joe brought his playstyle into the game, but I don't think it's something Joe would usually do, as arguments surrounding meta-game are usually flawed at best. Until I can perform a better analysis, Joe. @A Joe in the Bush I'm not really feeling the Devotary lynch because they are the one that originally started the lynch on Coda. I can see that maybe the elim team actively decided to lynch the person they were attempting to kill, but actually going through with it would be much more difficult. ------- RP has come. @Butt Ad Venture Uncertain, Character decided to follow. After all, with the scare, Character couldn't remember the directions he had memorized to get out of the tunnels. So if he wanted to survive, he had no choice. Following the shadowy figure, he noticed the tunnels begin to get brighter. Soon he could see well enough to make out some of the details of the man's face. A crooked nose and exhausted look were the aspects that stood out to Character. One question kept moving through his head. Why was this man even in the tunnels? It didn't matter. As soon as Character could find a recognizable point, he was going to make a break for it. The man walked fast. Almost too quick for Character to keep up. Not wanting to seem too rude, Character asked between breaths. "So, What's your name?" The man didn't seem to hear him, as he was too far ahead. Suddenly the man stopped. The sounds of the chaos outside were echoing through the tunnels now. and a circle of light indicating an exit just around the next bend. Seeing a chance to escape, Character excitedly said "Thanks!" And took a start toward the exit. Just before he reached the corner, he felt a hand grab him and pull him back, stopping him.
  2. Unfortunately, I was getting a bit wary of the quick train against Tess right at the end. But I think it was too late to have that stopped. I'll try looking into that this cycle. I did attempt to target someone with the knife I got from Lemon, but someone stole it from me so my attack didn't go through Therefore, I cannot confirm yet that someone is not the killer, which I was hoping to do. If you did steal my knife I wouldn't mind if you reach out to me, maybe we can work together to actually find a use for it. With regards to stuff happening this cycle, I think it would be good for me to try to honor Tess's last wishes, since they won't be able to. I won't really worry about examining Stick, as he has proven, in a most unfortunate manner that he is not an eliminator. We do know however, that there is at least one additional set of binoculars, which is a relief. I would ask that whoever has those to not claim if you haven't yet, or only claim to someone you trust 100%. I'm obviously very trustworthy so I could be a good option. Because we need to keep those binoculars in use if we want an easier chance of catching the elims. Ok. So someone had previously made a list of those not around around rollover D1. Let me cross reference some lists So cross referencing these lists, we can remove Stick, because he's dead. Sart, Venture, Elan, Elkanah Devotary, Kidpen, and Twibanu have unconfirmed actions. Of that group, they are all still alive. CadCom, Elkanah, Kidpen, Definitely missed Rollover, With Only Striker, Twibanu, and Sart who definitely didn't miss rollover. CadCom, Stick, Kynedath, Kidpen, Devotary. voted for Tess. ------- CadCom is on 2 of those lists. Elkanah is on 2 of those lists Kidpen is on 3 of those lists, Devotary is on 2 of those lists, but could possibly be on the third, though I believe he started the Coda lynch, so not the best possibility of being on list 3 Kynedath is only on 1 list, Sart is only on 1 list, Venture is only on 1 list Elan is only on 1 list Twibanu is only on 1 list, but also was on close to rollover. I think the most important people to focus discussion on would be those who are on at least 2 of those lists, as I would expect at least one elim is among those. I've run out of time right now, so I'll try to get to more things later.
  3. Oh shoot. I just had to delete a very long comment. Maybe I'll save it for tomorrow.
  4. I would argue that two or three unconfirmed actions is the same, pretty condemning. But teibanu does have a good point that there are 7, which makes it much less condemning but it does give us at least a good pool to go from. The primary reason I'm voting for Tess was because it felt too much like trying to either pocket or sheep or protect twibanu. The unconfirmedness of his action is only a secondary ir tertiary reason.
  5. I try to choose people who are kindof able to fly under the radar, therefore allowing for more info to be made available. Mostly it was a stab in the dark, as I prefer that style on D1 to kindof randomize the information received.
  6. I guess I don't see how I would be a very informative lynch option, seeing as I have quite a few people who have been able to validate somewhat independently my claim I could even have Lemon verify it by confirming whether or not I got a knife from him. Just as Devotary said, We can't know that there were only three people who weren't able to be on after that had been seen. So just choosing three, seems rather arbitrary to me, regardless of who they are. ---- I guess lynching me would put some information out. But seeing as it's only determining whether one specific theory was correct as well as whether or not I actually stole from lemon. (Which has already been mostly confirmed.) I really don't think it would be the most informational lynch. @Kynedath, I understand where you are coming from, not wanting to put a new vote out there. If you have any specific people in mind, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to discuss them in thread, and we can all decide whether they are a good alternative. As for the moment, I am keeping my vote, but I'd be willing to change it if a better option (in my own opinion) is presented.
  7. Alright, Sorry guys, weekends are difficult for me. Anyways, Lets see if I can get some good player analysis in now, as well as my first vote of the game. 1. StrikerEZ - Through PM's and what they've said in thread, seems pretty genuine. It could just be that they're an elim that hasn't been disingenuous yet. But for the most part I'm willing to trust Striker for now. 2. Kynedath - Originally I had suspicions on them for a couple of their first posts at the beginning of this cycle. As I've continued to read, I think it really does read as a concerned villager. 3. DeTess - Something about their last post doesn't really sit right with me. I'm not exactly certain what it is though. Maybe it's how they seem to be sheeping Twibanu. The other thing that I think bothered me is that they still seemed to try to focus on the original 3 discussed, even after a long discussion (Admittedly a good portion about me) it seemed as if the thread had for the most part moved past that idea, and had moved on to other candidates. It also seems like they may have been trying to put together a quick response to direct attention off the last person who was proposed for the lynch, Twibanu. Two people, who both have unconfirmed actions from last cycle, per the post by Striker. 4. Stick - Their posts read like a stick. And that is good, because that is who it is. Seriously though, it seems mostly genuine, if not a bit quick. I don't have much to analyze there. 5. Sart - seems to be the topic of some discussion yet hasn't been on this cycle, as far as I could see to really contribute or respond. I'd be probably willing to not pursue much further from them at this time. 6. Butt Venture - I would like to see more content from them, but if they're busy I understand. 7. Elandera - Through PM, I have a pretty good feeling about Elandera. Not confirmed village, but definitely leaning that direction. 8. CadCom - 9. Lemonelon - Haven't pm'd him, despite stealing his item. Thanks for that by the way. So I haven't gotten much of a read on them up to this point. 10. Elkanah - is probably the one of the three mentioned by many that I would end up voting for. But honestly I haven't looked a whole lot into their posts, so that's just feeling based off of DeTess's post above mine. (It's a bit ironic that that post makes me suspicious of DeTess, yet at the same time, I agree with it. But C'est la vie 11. Coda - Absodel (student of medicine) - Loyal 12. Devotary of Spontaneity - I'm always suspicious of Devotary, but in this game it's no more than normal, so as of now, I don't think I'm ready to add more suspicion to that. 13. Kidpen - I think I've only seen one post from them. While hypothetically this would make for a good argument stating they placed the action before not coming back to see the switch, it also doesn't make a ton of sense, because someone so inactive wouldn't have wanted to have his fellow elim team mates rely on him for putting in the action. It could have been something unexpected I guess, but I find it less likely that kidpen is evil. 14. Twibanu - The fact that they apparently lied to at least one person is concerning, and may be enough for me to warrant putting a vote on them. I'm not certain about that though. I'd have to look more into it when I have more time. 15. A Joe in the Bush - Earlier this cycle I had suspicions of Joe. Let me see if I can remember why *Proceeds to reread Joe's posts* Oh yes, I found it odd that he claimed to be a third person to try to steal from Striker. I mean it could be that many people really didn't trust him so lots of people tried to steal him, and as the cycle went along up until now, that seems to be more likely to be the case. Still interesting nonetheless. ------------- If I had to choose my own elim team from the above, based on my opinions, it would be DeTess, Twibanu(who I still want to call fura) and Joe. But that probably isn't the most well thought out list. Regardless, I'll still place my vote on DeTess for now. As more info comes out, I may change to Twibanu though. @DeTess @Twibanu ------------ ------------ RP Edited in @Butt Ad Venture Cowering in a corner, Character found himself still trying to get his eyes to adjust to the darkness. He thought he had lost the uniformed men. One benefit of being a small person instead of a grown-up. But he could never be certain until he had waited for a long time. After rounding a few corners, Character found an open stormdrain, and hopped down, and started running through the tunnels. He had to remember he went Right, then Left, then down another ladder, then Right. He didn't dare go further so he could get back more easily. Being lost in the dark tunnels would be so much worse than being lost in a market. He might never be able to find food down here, but the market was teeming with it. All of a sudden from over his left shoulder, he heard a voice. "“Well...this crazy business about daggers and epics? Too much for us common folks eh?” More than just startled, Character screamed, and turned find a shadow of a man. Trying to turn back an run, he tripped over something on the ground. Finding himself fallen before this ominous shadow, he could find the words to squeak out nothing more than "H- Help. D- Don't hurt me please!"
  8. I can prove that I did steal something last cycle. I told Elandera early on this cycle that I stole from Lemonelon. Before they claimed in three they had been stolen from. I can prove what I stole too that lemon can confirm is correct.
  9. So here's my thoughts for now. The original person who placed the kill order was likely not on late in the cycle, which unfortunately doesnt bode well for me. But there are definitely others who that won't bode well for either. It also looks like no one went for any strongboxes yet, because they're all still in play. That means that everyone has their heads set on something higher up the line. I expect to see some evidence of knives being taken, and also some evidence of smoke bombs, but I suspect most people will be trying to lay low until they can make a grab at the bulletproof vests, or at least collecting until that point yo determine how many others also appear to be collecting up to that point. Got to go, will make another post later.
  10. With the added clarification from Brightness, the purchased gun could potentially come into play by cycle 6 as an action, because you can get enough points by cycle 5, and grab it on cycle 5 to use on that next cycle. A perfect elim game would end by cycle 5 essentially, however, I think it would be more likely that the game goes until cycle 6 or 7. That means the gun could go into use at the very end of the game, swaying the odds. Also, I believe we are now getting close to a day in, and we still have a few who haven't shown up yet. @Sart, @Butt Venture, @Lemonelon @Elkanah, @Coda Sorry Butt, I couldn't find you, so you didn't get a real tag. We are also getting to a point where if we want a lynch, we should probably start determining who.
  11. "Ma!? Pa!?" Character yelled Frantically! He was lost somewhere in the market. He had come with his parents, but got distracted by some toys. Now he had no idea where he was, or where his parents were. His parents had taught him that he shouldn't trust anyone but them. There was corruption these days, and anyone could be evil. What does corruption even mean? Character felt like a big kid. He was 8 for goodness sake! As long as he knew where he was, he could take care of himself. But he had never been to this market, let alone any market this big or crowded. Some men in uniform approached him. "Hey kiddo. You lost?" The shorter one said. He had a creepy mustache. Ma said to trust no one! Character thought to himself, as he turned and ran to hide from these men YOU CANNOT TRUST ANYONE. NOT EVEN POLICE His mother's words rang louder and louder in his head. ------------------- @Twibanu You said the Gun from the market can't be used until at least Turn 8. If you got 2 points per turn every turn, then you'd have 10 by turn 5, you could pick it up by turn 6 and use it turn 7 couldn't you? Or am I missing something. Well, I just read through your post again, and you actually did mention that at one point, but at another point you said cycle 8. Was this a typo, or am I misunderstanding? I think the thing we may need to watch out for most from the list is definitely elims obtaining smoke bombs, and knives, as these inhibit our ability to catch the elims. Knives in general inhibit our ability to do any action, and smoke bombs end up coming back with no result? Both not good for finding what people are up to. I would expect the elims to start with 1 smoke bomb. Notably, there are no binoculars in the black market. This means the binoculars in play are the only binoculars available. Twibanu expected only one to be in play. I would guess 2 just in case we lose one early. Lets see, In a game of 15 players, there are probably 3 elims (Mayyyyybe 4, but unlikely, or maybe 3 with one member with a bulletproof vest) I would guess one elim doesn't have any items, one has a smoke bomb and the other has a knife maybe? I want to do more speculative analysis, but I just got off of work so I'd rather head home.
  12. Winning Song! Winning Song! Winning all the way! Oh what fun it is to win The last Post game today! Hey!
  13. I am religious, but perhaps, I can add a different perspective, more from a philosophical point of view. But first, I do want to state that it is my belief that there is an absolute evil and unchanging and an absolute and unchanging good, The only problem is that I haven't determined what that difference is. Most of the middle area is still very blurry for me, so I dont have the best information on that area. Now from a more philosophical point of view, Good and evil would for the most part be based one one's own morality, as well as maturity and understanding. For example, a religious zealot may state another religious zealot is evil, and vice versa, all the while holding to very similar belief regarding the origins of the universe and how to reach "salvation" Removing religion entirely, I believe there are still some things that can be considered universally evil, like cold blooded murder for example. But even among the realm of death and killing, we cannot say that killing is universally evil. Crusaders and many political scientists are aware of a concept of a "just war." This is the idea that some wars are just, and therefore not evil, despite the often genocidal events that result from many wars. This is similar to the arguments of doing the wrong things for the right reason, or the right things for the wrong reason. Are any of these thought processes really evil? From my perspective, I would say that doing the right thing for the wrong reason is more evil. But it brings up the discussion: Are evil acts defined as evil based on the act alone, or the intentions behind the action?
  14. *Considers voting for mestive, for helping to reopen the poll* *Decides to look at all options first* *Sees that multiple of the mods still frequently visit SE* *Has bias towards SE* *Feels obliged to vote for Mestiv because he is quoted in this post* *Enters existential crisis* *Doesn't vote yet*
  15. I don't know what I was trying to say, but it definitely wasn't bored. I was on mobile, and it must have tried to auto correct.
  16. May I actually be bored to the spec doc. I've been letting school slide due to work and other stuffand I need to focus on that for a few weeks. I'll edit my original post too.
  17. I'm willing to believe the devotary/venture claim for now. I think it's pretty much close to the end for me. Sart, I see you didnt believe my claim. That's okay, your loss. Not sure what the vote count is, but I'm pretty sure I'm still on top. You're all missing out on a valuable asset. But for the sake of me voting my conscience, devotary rathmaskal. adios everyone
  18. Adios! Have a good two years. This post may be 800 pages or more longer than it is now when you return. but I'll also tag you so you can see exactly how many. @Ethan_Sedai
  19. This is a pretty big role claim on someone else's behalf, though I guess it makes the most sense out of anyone else. This does make me want to definitely move my vote to someone else.
  20. Xinoehp512 Rathmaskal Fifth Scholar Insane Cadmium Compounder Araris Valerian Silver bones shanerockes Journalist Amanuensis Government Agent Butt Ad Venture Insane StrikerEZ Gravedigger Ventyl Insane ILuvHats Sart Criminal/Village (With the item I used to have) Ark1002 Devotary of Spontaneity Insane This is a list of people we know stuff about, that I can recall as of this point. That leaves the remaining people that could have been the Deep one or The Founder to Xino Rath, CadCom, ILuvHats, Ark. I guess Araris could technically be the founder, but to me that seems too powerful. I know for sure that I am not the Deep one. That narrows it down to the remaining 4, unless I'm missing something. So I'll focus a quick analysis on these four. Unfortunately, at least two of these have not been as active as I would have hoped. @xinoehp512: has has had only a few posts. Most of these are mostly RP. D2 they did vote for Sart, then later remove their vote. The reason they voted, as well as the reason they removed their vote were both pretty much on a whim. No one has counter claimed this claim. @ILuvHats are you able to confirm whether you were converted. (This may not be smart, so use your knowledge about your role prior to role claiming. Would it even be possible for you to be converted?) @Rathmaskal: Rath has definitely provided ample analysis. I don't have a whole lot of time to dig into it, but has anyone really cleared Rath, or are we just simply taking what he says at face value. I never really like it when someone flies under the radar so easily. @ILuvHats: The majority of their posts are RP, but they do have one post that offers a bit of substance. It shows a slight misunderstanding of the Gravedigger, as well as the Attack mechanics. Other than that, they've been relatively quiet, despite stating that they are following what is going on. Possibly recruited by Aman prior to his death @Ark1002: Relatively inactive. It seems like they have a lot going on. I understand, because I've had that happen before. Still we can't clear him. I really don't like how Rath has flown under the radar so easily. He might be the best bet of a possible elim from. I could be wrong about that. But when I flip, please, everyone remember, If you vote between these 4, you will have a 50/50 chance of hitting one of the more powerful elims. I think it's quite likely that the last elim has gone insane, in order to hide among the villagers. I was going to change my vote to Rath, but I'll keep it on devotary for a short time right now. I think Rath might be a more likely candidate though. Peace out everyone. I'll keep trying to watch, the game, but I can't guarantee I'll be active enough to respond. Once I get off work, I have a job interview for a -hopefully- better job.
  21. I dont think this works. There are definitely other better lynch options. Most of the villagers/neutrals will be upset if I am lynched. I'm going to try to do one more analysis style post, but I dont know if I'll have time to finish it. Im on lunch run, and work is busy today.
  22. Granted. However, these fluff are used, therefore, they cannot grant additional wishes. I wish for a genie's lamp, with a willing and understanding genie inside.
  23. I propose that a google doc be created and shared with the thread. This google doc will only contain necessary information regarding current rules, as they are in effect as well as any current proposals on the ballot. (I can make this once I have some more time if needed) I also propose a new thread be created for the revised, and restarted Nomic game be created. It is to have the link to the google doc in the original post, for easy locating. I also propose that for any player to win the game, that player must receive at least half of the active player's votes (50% included) as the winner of the game. For now, I also oppose the amendment, And for now, I will oppose the Rule of game state rule, as it has become very complicated, and I currently do not understand it. I support FT joining, and I also agree with the Rule Maximum rule amendment.
