  1. So first thing, I think you made a mistake, didn't I have 6 votes? In all honesty, I'm a bit too lazy to double check the actual thread, bu there's 6 names there. I agree. If it weren't for me being one of the people up for expulsion, I totally would have gone for more votes on people. (My bad) I think we are likely to see Walin using their master abilities for a while. I also don't imagine the eliminators will want to kill him off yet, because they will need to have non-elim masters at some point or another, that way if/when they destroy a field, they'll have people to blame. I see it like this: Elim!Walin waits until at least 1 or 2 more people have become masters before destroying field. Not revealing that they destroyed the field Village!Walin isn't killed by elims so that they have more than one person to attempt pass blame on to when a field is destroyed. @little wilson @Elbereth when a field is destroyed, is it announced in thread? Is the master still a master of that field, meaning that discipline votes against them will be automatically dissolved? EDIT: My personal philosophy on who to vote for is to vote for the most suspicious of the El'the from this point forward. The reason for that is because we don't want the elims to be elevated to master. It looks like the current El-the are Elkanah, Experience, Xino, Silberfarben, Zillah, and Bard(Already expelled). I am not yet ready to vote, but my vote will be on one of these people.
  2. @little wilson @Elbereth can someone be elevated in the same fisamethat someone becomes a master in? (Is it possible that one of the people that was elevated was in the same field that Walin just became a master in?) I skimmed through the rules and couldn't find anything for certain
  3. You know, I was hoping to follow the same route as you, but you cant be elevated when you have lashings. All you can do is file EP. We're stuck in the same boat. I was also elevated but now I'm stuck where I was too.
  4. Lets see, I suspect that there are probably 4 elims left (with a small possibility of 5, but I doubt it) That means there would be 14 villagers. We are on cycle 3 so Worst case scenario, assuming 14-4 spread, and no more knives Start of C4: 12-4 S. o C5: 10-4 C6: 8-4 C7: 6-4 C8:4-4 So worst case scenario the game enters Lylo on C7. If we add in a single missed Knife attack, that changes to C6. But even guessing with mere chance we start with a 1/4 chance of catching an elim. and we have about 4 or 5 chances, with each cycle the chance growing. For now I think if we don't catch the elims quickly, we can see the game making it to cycle 8 or maybe even 9.
  5. I'm fairly certain that when I posted explaining that I now knew that expulsion wouldn't be as bad, Bard had 14 votes on them, not 7. That meant that just one would have bumped them up to 65% and three would have bumped them up to 80, and 5 to 90% and 6 to 100%. I still didn't add additional people to the lynch because I didn't want to make it any harder for him to be expelled.
  6. Oh wait, Fura's vote has just been removed, and I guess I missed it. I don't personally like being expelled though, I'm considering adding an additional set of votes anyways. As it stands, if I remove my vote on Fura, and consider the average amount of votes available from the Masters, I'll have a 65% chance of expulsion, which is rather high, whereas with my vote on fura still standing, it lowers my chances to 30% If I remove my vote from Kynedath, and add a single other person, assuming I get the average number of votes among 6 people, I'll only have a 10% chance of expulsion. Hmm. On second thought, because my ability to stay in the university somewhat depends on it, I'll remove my vote from Kynedath, and instead I'll vote for Xinoehp. To be completely honest I might move it to Devotary, I just feel like one of the people who voted on me is likely elim.
  7. Sorry guys, for coming on late, I only really have time to respond to one or two quick things. I don't see the point in voting on someone who was virtually already going to be expelled. My vote would have (and did have) virtually no effect on his final state. At this point, I would vote on two other people with no votes currently, but that would only further your suspicion, or I would vote twice on Kynedath to protect myself, however, this isn't a winner takes all lynch, its a point system lynch, The amount of effort and things needed to reveal a player's alignment makes this game very difficult, and it is unlikely that we will see very many elims confirmed, because the easiest way to see this occur is by death, which is mostly just an elim ability after someone has been expelled or gone insane. I'll just move more people toward a point where actions cannot be taken/expulsion Fura, Kynedath
  8. Hello hello! I think I'll start things off a bit of a fun way. 1. I'm totally not an eliminator. Or maybe I am. 2. I dont see any votes yet, so I'll throw one out. xinoehp is totally an elim or my elim accomplice. Let's all kill them.
  9. Hmmm. After rereading about expulsion it isnt really as bad as I thought. But what it does do is gives the elims a target to kill instead of just making someone go insane. But they could also try killing the people that have gone insane, so it seems like they are going for a different strategy than that. So I guess I understand that since they're Elthe, they would be fine. There would be less people that they can target, at least for a few rounds, but that isnt too bad. So I guess I dont hate the idea of expelling someone. However, with 14 votes(at last count) and a pretty high chance of them receiving more votes from the NPC masters, I'd say theres a pretty good chance they're going to be expelled, so I'll look elsewhere. I've had a small suspicion of Fura for a few turns. But havent acted on it yet, but I'll do that now fura I dont have a ton of time to quantify that suspicion at this point, so I'll leave it just there for now, and try to come back to this. And I'm debating between voting for someone who already has votes to make things happen and placing a vote on Straw, which is who my original vote was for last cycle. Something still bothers me about him wanting to spread out the votes. For now, I think I'll leave it and see if I have any more time to put another vote down for someone else.
  10. cadCom, Bard I think Bard gas more than enough votes. If votes did reveal alignment I would keep my vote on him, but since they don't, we are potentially condemning an innocent man to expulsion with no way of revealing his alignment, making the information gathered minimal. At this point, I'd feel more comfortable making it so he loses actions as that would still hurt the elim team without hurting village in the long run. I would still like to vote though, can I get an official vote count @Elbereth @little wilson
  11. Overall an eliminator is less likely to make a mistake in an accusation against villagers, however in the case that the eliminator did not notice the mistake, they would be more likely to try to find a way to exploit the mistake. With regards ri the second question, I think it depends on what you mean by obvious. Is the mistake itself obvious? Or is the mistake made due to obvious obliviousness in the part of the person that made the mistake. If the mistake was obvious but it's not obvious of the OPs ignorance, then an eliminator may choose to take advantage of the mistake and try to use it against the OP, but I'd say it's not too likely. However, if it's obvious that the OP made a mistake for no other reason than they completely missed out on some other post, or was ignorant or oblivious to a rule, then most same eliminators would just choose to point out the error of the OPs ways and try to direct them down the correct path, and pocket the clearly errant OP. --- Anyway, back to focusing on actual events. When I first saw Bard's survival I didnt know what to think, but the first thing that came to mind was a WGG. Then using the wonderful power of confirmation bias, bards post where he attempted to explain his survival made me more suspicious this may change, but for now, I will put one vote on Bard and to hopefully motivate me to return later to take a closer look, I'll put my other vote on myself CadCom and remove it later once I've had time to reevaluate that first vote.
  12. Actually after I put phone away, I had to pull it back out very quickly for this posthaelbardestriker, because even though it could have been a simple mistake, something about what you said about straw, and then it not being true just doesnt feel right to me.
  13. Shoot. I literally just lost a comment because I clicked on the notification to read straws comment Brief recap because I dont want to retype it. straw because even though I disagree with the logic to spread out votes, and see it as an elim thing to want, I think that is just because we have different theories to catch bad guys. That and the contradiction I thought I saw was based on false information that i read from strikers comment. haelbarde because i have some sort of mental bias or gut feeling against them this game. No evidence to back it up yet.
  14. Cadici finished counting as he reached campus. "One thousand nine hundred forty three" he loudly proclaimed. 1943 steps from his lodging to campus, I case anyone wanted to know. And he even reached campus with about 5 minutes until his class started. He was doing great for the first day that he chose to attend of the new term. He got to class only 5 minutes late. Turns out class was on the other side of campus. Ehh no big deal. After sitting in the back of a rather large lecture hall, Cadici realized that he had fallen asleep and had no idea what the master was talking about. As soon as class ended he would head over to the archives and search for a mentor. Hopefully there was one that would be willing to mentor him for almost nothing as it was very difficult for him as a ruh to attend school I'm the first place. ---- Upon arriving at the archives building, he noticed that many people were gathered outside and there was a faint smell of smoke. What had happened here, he wondered. He walked up to the nearest group and asked "Hey guys, what happened here? Why are people acting so weird? @anyone doing the smoky archives RP ------- I do see that the amount of people with votes is still very spread out. I haven't done a super close analysis so far, but I'll vote based on gut and suspicion, which I havent done yet, as that will help lower my tuition and also help people get reads on me. I'll limit my voting to the people who already have votes, but I will split them up. The first will go to Lopen, purely because they currently have the most, as per last count at least, even though I'm not a huge fan of that vote, and may change it if I have time to get on later and see other people have more votes. My second vote will go on Straw because Straw apparently last cycle was trying to keep from spreading out the votes, but this cycle is very much fine with it, as they placed votes on two different players who didnt have any votes. Feels weird to me. Though i disagree with strikers analysis that xino quoted above because i feel like that is something straw does a lot. Other people I could consider voting for would include Xino, due in part to the reason someone pointed out about him asking for info from me and also because I read his last post in defense of Straw as a bit manufactured. Other than that, I would need to do a deeper reread into the players to see if there is anyone I would like to vote on. These are just a few of the top gut feelings that came to me. I'll try to look more into players either later this turn or hopefully earlyish next turn though.
  15. Yes, absolutely. I have not been in school. I think we app started out in school, term 1 month 1 so I put in for some EP points at that time, and then I was in Imre. Then I didnt go to school for term 2. A bit of misunderstanding the rules partially accounted for that reason, but I'm once again in the Imre this month. Next semester I'm hoping to attend school if everything works out for me though.
  16. I think with regards to the complaints I'm agreeing with the idea that spreading our votes out may have been good early on in the game, but as it progresses, it is increasingly important to actually push some players towards points where more can he revealed from the complains filed against them other than just having to RP an apology o get charges dropped. In my opinion, lashings are a good tool, because not being able to take an action is more likely to hurt the smaller team of eliminators than the larger team of villagers, so making it so students with complaints are more likely to receive lashings sounds like a good idea in my head. The skindancers dont seem too set on killing the people they've caused to go insane yet. I mean since theres a small chance they escape it isnt too much if a worry yet, but it makes me wonder if instead they are trying to go down the route of being elevated to masters, and then destroying the fields of study instead. Along with that, if they are masters, then they dont have to worry about disciplinary votes, as they're all dissolved. Also, is there actually a way to see what fields people have been elevated in, because I definitely missed it and I would like to see that. Where would I find that? I'm not ready to place any complaint vote yet, but when I do, it'll be on someone with more elevations.
  17. Sorry for my relative inactivity. My thoughts up to this point are as follows. 1. I havent been paying as much attention to the thread as I could have been, so it's quite possible I've missed a few of these same points being brought up. 2. With so many mechanics going on in this game, I think we have to be careful not to get distracted from our main goal, which is to kill the skin dancers. Along those same lines, since the skindancers have a doc to communicate in, it's probably easier for them to not get distracted, since they'll have four or five other people(just my guess) who can help them out to stay on task. The reason I say this is because I keep thinking how I can become the most powerful. But then remembering that I actually need to try to catch skindancers. 3. I think there may be a few things that would give away eliminators so far in voting patterns, but until we catch at least one eliminator, voting pattern analysis is random and inconclusive at. best. This is usually my preferred method of analysis. So I dont have much to go off of at this time. 4. This one is more of a question for anyone that knows the answer. I thought we'd be able to see which was in imre versus the university each turn. Is that just a rule that I made up in my own head? A quick re-skim of the rules didnt help me out. ------- Please note* my RPs have no bearing on what I'm actually doing in the game and are purely for flavor purposes. An unfortunate truth about Cadici's educational history is when things got rough, cadici usually found other, less productive ways to spend his time. During term one, cadici had already managed to count how many stones marked the cobblestone path from his lodging all the way to the Imre and also to the university. 23,213 stones between the Ankers front door-where he stayed last term- and the entrance to the Imre The university was either just a little bit closer or the overall stone size was slightly was larger in that direction because there had been 21,189 stones to reach campus on the shortest path. Cadici hadn't even bothered checking his grades from last term yet as he was afraid to do so. But he still was qualified to attend, so he tried enrolling again. Hopefully this term he would actually try harder to attend his classes. For now he simply ate a sandwich. He had a class starting in half an hour, and he could NOT attend class on an empty stomach. --- Sandwich devoured, Cadici finished packing his bag with essential items, and headed off towards the university. It was time to measure actual steps to campus, instead of all the stones. This should be significantly easier to count. One. Two. Three. Four. Hopefully no one heard him counting. They would think he was weird.
  18. After the first person Cadici spoke to just looked at him funny, and walked away, Cadici felt a bit defeated. I think it's time to check out the food options around here. He thought. After finding a cafeteria of sorts, Cadici ordered a plate of the most normal type of food he could find, and took a bit too loong to eat it. He needed to make this work. Cadici knew if he wanted to succeed, he had to network. It was time to start networking. He found someone who was dressed in a rather droll selection of greys. He must have been here more to study than to party, so this could be the perfect person to start networking with. Cadici approched this person and started to try to strike up a conversation. "Hey, I'm Cadici. Just got here a couple hours ago. I'm looking for the College of Arcane arts, so I can get more information about which field to pursue. Any idea which way to go" The man gestured nonchalantly toward a building that very obviously looked like a place to practice arcane arts, and seemed to overall ignore cadici beyond that. But he didn't give up so easily. "So what are you studying here?" ----------------- So I'm still reading the rules to the game, After I see a few things happen at rollover, I hope to be able to put more thought into the game.
  19. Cadici was completely and utterly lost. He was transferring to this school, but due to the universities being in different universes, they significantly different schedules. He had actually finished a final not 10 minutes earlier before hopping into a portal to this new universe and this new university. ( I actually literally just finished my last final, so it may take me a minute to catch up) It appeared as if he missed all of the new student orientation, and would have to figure everything out on his own. He new this school was different than the one he came from, but originally he was going to study the mundane arts here too. Double Majoring in Biology and Sociology. Only after he arrived on campus did he learn of how interesting the arcane arts could be. Perhaps he should dabble in the arcane arts. After pondering for a moment, he decided that since his major still hadn't technically been declared, he could try out the new type of classes a bit. Now he just had to figure out who he could go up to and ask for directions to the College of Arcane Arts. Better just start asking around. "Do you know where I can see a director or counselor for the college of the arcane arts?" Cadici asked to the person nearest him. -------------------- Hey guys. Just finished my last final, and still haven't really read the rules, except for skimming about a week and a half ago I'll try to make some more substantial post once I figure out what's going on.
  20. Cadaci began to prepare for the new term. When he had originally transferred to the University, he had done so with the intent of becoming a mundane lawyer. However, the arcane arts intrigued him, so he chose to change his field of study and this was to be his first term in the new field. He still needed to decide which, or how many of the arcane arts he intended to study. But that's what the first week was for, wasn't it? Signing up as Cadaci.
  21. My first game was a somewhat complicated one. There have definitely been more complicated games since that one, but yeah. If you've played mafia before, jump right in. If not, feel free to join the spectator document. Many current players join that and just talk casually if they dont think they'll have time to play.
  22. I think I'm going to change my vote to Devotary striker I'd put more. But I'm on mobile. My trust group is mainly consists of zillah, elkanah, kynedath.
