Investiture for a Better Life Foundation
I think I am here. replied to Lord Meeker's topic in The Alleyverse
Max was uncharacteristically silent this time out. He’d been more and more silent ever since Oasis. The more time he considered what he’d done... Still plated in his suit of armour, he stood taller than the others, still as a statue. Thoughts flew around in his mind. Connections. Deviations. Aurell has her parents killed by Solace. Did she really feel sad or was this to empathy from Althea and him. But despite apparently being upset about her parents being killed, she still considered Solace “her old man” and defended him. She was leading them into a building. One of the lower levels, coincidentally enough. There were traps. Was she going to lead them into an ambush? Or was she going to have them captured by a trap and feign she knew nothing about it. It was Pascal’s wager again. If there was a trap and they didn’t go, they saved themselves. If there was a trap and they went, there was a possibility of them dying. If there wasn’t a trap and they didn’t go, they would be passing up useful information. If there wasn’t a trap and they went, they would get useful information. Not going would be playing it safe. Following Aurell could have high payment or high reward, and when fighting Solace, they needed all the help they could get. “I say we go,” Max said quietly. “There’s a large possibility of information from Solace, and I trust Aurell.” Hesitant, He turned on his mental link with Althea. Be cautious. This opportunity seems to easy, it’s possible we’re being misled. Keep your guard. @Sorana- 273 replies

Ah, I think I get it now. "Also," Itiah addressed Karnatheon. "I am my author. I think. Or my author is me. But what is me, or rather, the idea of my identity..." He began to ramble into infinity
-
But what about 0.5 of a planck? 0.1? What about 0.02 of a Planck? I guess we could continue that into infinity if we wanted to.
-
“But what is NOW? Is now pir current perception of time? But if our perception of time lasts muliple nanoseconds at least does that mean that strength of nanoseconds equals now? No, most likely that it is one nanosecond, the nanosecond we are in. But a nanosecond is made of smaller parts, so do all of those correspond to now? No, only the current one does. And you can continue splitting time to infinity, if everything is a group of time nothing can be now. So at what point does now happen? And at what point does it become arbitrary?

Max also looked back at Aurelle. “I thought you said you wanted to kill your father. Makes it hard to believe when you’re defending him like this.”- 273 replies

“I agree with everything that man just said,” I said, pointing to the man who’d said. But yeah, I don’t want to pressure Ark into killing his character. If you want to keep him around, go ahead, I just would prefer if you didn’t give us a choice like this is effectively a veiled forcing of our hands. If Hellbent doesn’t get a Shard, he goes super-evil. I say I welcome the challenge. Because I do welcome it. I think. Do I? I think, therefore I am. Or am I? Do I exist? If everyone believes I don’t, do I? If everyone believes I do, but I don’t, where do I stand? What is existence? Just the act of being? If something is simply a word on a page, does it exist? Or does merely the idea of it exist? Are the two one and the same? If so, does non-existence exist, because the idea of it does. Does zero exist? That would be impossible. Zero is nothing. Does nothing exist? Do I exist? Am I nothing? Is nothing me? Is nothing all of us? Is nothing everything? No, that would mean everything is also nothing, so one could say there is no existence, only everything and nothing at once, in this fraction of a moment. Beautiful. I have written my Manifesto.

Lusk tried to ignore another man's joke about watches, but couldn't help himself from snarling at the other woman. Torturing people like him? He'd like to see her try. "I could obliterate you in a second," he whispered. A bluff. He knew it. Lusk was just an Atium Ferring, he could store age and nothing else. How could he obliterate anyone? But the way he said it, the delivery, that was founded the trick. Taking a sheet, Lusk took his own pen out to write on it. Frowning, Lusk realised how bad he sounded with that weak power. After his threats, would anyone take him seriously? Taking the page back, he hastily scribbled a correction. Good. This way nobody could sense his weakness. As long as no one asked him to prove it, Lusk was just about the most powerful man in the room. That pleased him. -
This is the part I'm most sad about. Threnody is awesome, and I would love to have a novel on it!

The warriors danced long and well but were quickly outdone when a might and feral roar surged through the battlefield. Three massive entities crawled forth on multiple legs, each step providing a mighty beat for the Warriors to fight with. The Chilefiends were here, and just as quick as they appeared, they immersed themselves in world class Dubstep, their many voice boxes allowing for an awesome performance, especially since they were using hilariously undersized instruments.

Lusk shouldn't have been here. He needed guards. Bodyguards. Such was only fitting for a man of the Ghostblood Council. He was ruthless. He was deceptive. He shouldn't have been here, following a stray advertisement of a man who he had no guarantee would actually do what he promised. Yet, the childhood part of Lusk disagreed. He'd always wanted to go to space. And he was. Even if he had to hang around some questionable people to do it. Lusk turned to talk to the Listener woman who'd talked to him when they'd been greeted to this 'Zaphoid's' home. Basic, but there was a ladder down. Lusk watched with inquisitive eyes as one by one people went down the ladder, before following himself, hoping his suit wouldn't ruin. "Not that I expect any of you to know." He said in his arrogant tone. "But would anyone know the time? I am on a schedule." -
As Laonin went to prepare for dinner, Alask took the liberty of rearranging a number of stools around a workable, turning it into a makeshift table. As he took a stool from the side and brushed dust off of it, he reflected on the day that had been. A normal day. One of his first. Of course, he'd had to take a man to the hospital for treating a serious illness that couldn't be identified, but compared to when he'd been heisting, or worse, looking for odd jobs he could take up, this was ordinary. Awesome. Taking a break, Alask rested his hand on another table, and immediately pulled back. "Rust!" He whispered quietly, though internally he was screaming. Across the inside of his left palm was a charcoal black stripe, the flesh just recovering from the sizzling burn. Struggling to keep down the pain, Alask looked down to the table he'd been leaning. A bar of silver looked back up at him, a black handprint imprinted into its centre. Of course. Silver. Alask needed to be more careful now, especially since he was in a forge, where all types of metals probably lay. Covering his burn mark and heavily cursing under his breath, Alask took a seat. "So," he said, trying to think of something to distract him from the pain. "How's everyone feeling?" @Karnatheon @xinoehp512 @The Grumpy Elantrian

I can’t count how many times I’ve lost either. It’s the real tragedy of the Game. As soon as you’re able to appreciate how much you’re winning you lose.

Max turned to the three men with the Aon Kii. “Yeah,” he found himself saying, putting his hands up and slowly backing away, following Aurelle. Obrodai post? Solace was fast. “You don’t really want to go against the Righthand of the Ghostbloods themselves, do you?” As he slowly backed away, knowing the unimaginable pain that would spawn if Aon released, he asked Aurelle. “So, where exactly are we walking to?” @Mraize @Sorana- 273 replies

No, I watched it on Netflix. Perhaps that’s why I didn’t enjoy as much as others. -

There is a pun to be made there seeing as how you’re talking about Spider-Man but I’m too lazy to make it On movies, I wasn’t recommended by a person to watch Annihilation, but lots of the reviews said it was good so that was pretty much a recommendation. I didn’t get it. It seemed so... ok. Like it was trying really hard to be “oh wow look how weird I am OwO” -
Hello! I feel your pain when it comes to not knowing whether you exist or not (check my username ) Welcome to the Shard! Oh, and if anybody tries to recruit you into something called the Dark Alley where they put Hemalurgic spikes in cookies, don’t worry, that’s not the wrong gang at all.
-
Still, fourty spikes? And not one of them is a stability one? At that point any Rioter could probably hijack his mind.
