Contest of Champions: Walker vs. Lusk
I think I am here. replied to Darth Woodrack's topic in The Alleyverse
Lusk's hand was taken and pressed to the ground by Walker's two. Now, neither had any more things they could do. All Lusk had to do was wait. Just a bit longer and hopefully the leg would snap. He just had to endure. Endure. Meeting Walker's eyes, he stared at the boy, as if saying something. I'm not giving up. His vision darkened and Lusk fought to keep it up. Just a little longer... -
Contest of Champions: Walker vs. Lusk

As Lusk continued attempting to break the leg, Walker's second leg snaked around his throat. Lusk still had one hand left that was free, but that didn't nearly have enough strength to remove the choking by itself. Double Drominad Lock, he thought, recognising the lock. It forced Lusk to let go, lest he get himself injured. Let's make that a Triple Drominad Lock. Using his remaining hand he attempted to grip Walker's neck, choking him. Now, Walker had to let go of his attack on Lusk to free himself, which meant Lusk didn't have to let go of his attack on Walker to free himself. -
A family pet who has existential crisises. Sounds fun

Contest of Champions: Walker vs. Lusk

The kick landed. Lusk staggered back, groaning. As the kick went down, Lusk grabbed Walker's leg and pressed it down in the opposite way, before sitting in it, attempting to break it unless he took his weight off. -

Luckily, the throw worked, and Lusk threw Walker away. The youth landed and attempted a swipe on Lusk's legs. If Lusk had seen it coming, perhaps he would have been able to dodge. But the swipe made Lusk stagger and immediately Walker was at him, thrusting his elbow forward towards Lusk's face. Bringing his hands up to block the elbow, Lusk only mildly succeeded, but managed to grab the elbow. Immediately, he threw the elbow high and aimed to lunge for the side of Walker's torso, right under his arms for a bear hug. Attempting this lock, Lusk tried tackling Walker to the ground. -

As Lusk tried to slam Walker, the youth turned and tried twisting Lusk's arm around him, pressed against his neck. Lusk thought about. Strategically, the position had many flaws. He knew that. But for the life of him Lusk couldn't remember any. He thought about changing back to age 30, he would surely remember all strategies then, but decided against it. No powers. This was about Honour. Utilising his free arm and his strength, Lusk wormed his head under the arm Walker grabbed, using his free arm to grip the elbow and using his neck to get under the arm. After he was no longer being choked, Lusk attempted to reach his free hand from above him onto Waller's cuff, and with both hands on Walker from above and behind Lusk, Lusk stepped forward and tried throwing Walker over his head, and onto the ground. -
He's also the uncle you can imagine as a secret James Bond villain the easiest, especially since he keeps making jokes about your cat being an explosive. Voidus: He's like the happy old Grandad who's content with life. Everyone is a child to his wise eyes. He doesn't brag too much, but don't underestimate him, he could probably take down the rest of the family combined without breaking a sweat. Also loves baking. Just thought I'd add that. Me: idk help.

Contest of Champions: Walker vs. Lusk

As Lusk went for the punch, leaning in for more power, he found his arm grabbed by the Drown kid. Immediately, Lusk tried analysing the situation. His mind was old and his knowledge of grabs not as expansive as it had once been, but Lusk could still try to figure things out. For one, he was grabbed by the arm. It made Lusk and Walker into one. Any move Lusk could make would, by essence, affect Walker and any move the kid could make would affect Lusk. As Walker lashed out a kick in Lusk's direction, Lusk used his superior range and Walker as an anchor to twist away and sidestep the kick. There. Since Walker's kicking leg was still up, and Lusk had created a sense of disbalance through his twist, that meant Walker was currently up on one leg. That would make him easy to trip. Now utilising his superior strength and weight against the 15 year old, Lusk turned the hand Walker grabbed and effectively attempted to turn Walker's grab against him, attempting to push forward with all his weight and to slam the teen into the ground. -
But look at where the supposed 'shells' are. They each look like they're split into two sections, which look a lot like wings. Plus, if it was a shell why would it have such a label overhang over the head? So assuming their wings, it looks more like a winged axehound than anything else.

As Lusk was pulled away he regan conciousness. I'm... out. I'm out! He needed to do something. Fast. Escaling the people holding him he ran for the stepping platforms. Age his body to its most athletic, age 30, he jumped from platform to platform. As he went on the second last one it collapsed beneath him, but he grabbed on the last one and Luke dim self up. Looking at the rope ahead, Lusk took a step back before charging and jumping at the rope. As soon he held onto it he began changing age., becoming young to be more light and becoming his depressed obese self to gain momentum. Once he got enough momentum he let go, making his body 6 years old to be as light as could, sailing over the wall. Next were monkey bars. Lusk cursed. He didn't know how to do monkey bars. Luckily, his schoolboy self did. Using Atium Feruchemy to age to 12, he hopped on and began going through the monkey bars, occasionally making himself older in case he couldn't reach some. Last but not least. Another wall. Throwing a harmonium cube up onto the wall, Lusk aged to a kid, reducing his weight. It was a Lurcher cube, and pulling Lusk by his knife, was able to get him over the wall. "Ta da." He said. -
Watching the small armada of soldiers ahead, Alask slowly put his hands up. He was done. Lena was done too. As the soldiers’ fingers danced on the trigger Alask thought what to do, trying not to hyperventilate. Meanwhile, the Shade inside him rumbled. It didn’t like so many people in one place. Alask froze. The Shade. It was his secret weapon, something they could have never expected to happen. It was their only chance of escaping, but it was also probably the deadliest thing in the room. Witnesses. There would be witnesses, wouldn’t there? That would make his whole Shade not a secret. The thought came to his mind, but was replaced by a grimmer one. If his Shade really did get loose, there would be no witnesses alive to say what they saw. Taking a step back, he whispered to Lena. “I’m going to let loose the Shade,” he said. “When I do, run. Silver works against it.”

Looking at the floor, Alask considered what Lena said. With the man fully unconscious, that would surely raise an alarm. "You're right," he said. "But hey, it could be worse. He could be dead. If that happened we would really be screwed." He laughed. "So, yeah, at least it's mission accomplished, right? Most of Flight Crew is poisoned. That should work." As they reached the ground floor, the elevator doors opened up to a semi-circle of 5 officers surrounding the entrance, guns aimed high. Ms. Miller was behind them, paling. "Um, you do realize the elevator has cameras, right?" She said. Shadows. If arrest wasn't daunting enough, the fact that any bullet would cause his Shade in a frenzy was worrying, since exploding gunpowder counted as kindling flame. What would be even worse would be if a bullet hit. Then they'd be doomed.

"I say front entrance," he said. "You saw how they looked at us, completely believing what we said. I doubt they would begin to look into us now." He turned. "And how did we screw up?"

Oof. That acronym gets my upvote. Also, yeah. I'm pretty sure (for now) its only in the aforementioned L:TMLoSL.

Alask nodded, taking the poison out in a smooth gesture that was disguised as setting his tie. Which he remembered he didn't actually have. Rust. Regardless, he took the poison out, and watching as Lena distracted the man, quickly grabbed the coffee cup. It was a clever plan. As he got the poison over the cup and began to quietly pour, a person walking behind him bumped into him and Alask accidentally poured the whole contents of the poison into the cup. Putting back on the desk, Alask managed to hide the empty pouch behind his back as the man reached to get his coffee, took one sip, and promptly collapsed. "Rust," Alask said, bringing the man up to a position in his desk where it looked like he was sleeping. "Too much poison. Anyway, I think that's this level done. Downwards then?" The Shade in his spikes rumbled, but didn't do much more, pleased no blood was being shed.

"You are good. That was fun. The idea with the epic tech, brilliant." Alask looked up at the sudden praise, nodding and smiling timidly. "Thanks," he said. Truth was, he still wasn't sure whether to be scared or not. People were confusing. The Shade inside him rumbled in displeasure, as it usually did, his spikes vibrating slightly. "And thanks for what you said outside, about keeping it a secret." He didn't need to say what 'it' was. "I appreciate it." Nodding when she said they had to make sure Flight Control ate them, he changed his face to David Turner, and adjusted his tie, before he realized he didn't have a tie. The elevator opened and he strided in, making introductions. "Hello everyone, I'm David Turner and this is my associate Brenda Hunt. We're from HR. We're away you have a busy night ahead, and to make it easier we've supplied these apples." Handing apples, most workers accepted, but as Alask tried handing the fruits to another worker the man denied. "I don't want one." Alask tried changing the man's mind but he was stubborn as a chull. "I said, I don't want your storming apples," he replied. Looking towards Lena, he shrugged, unsure what to do.

Alask followed her. "That went well," he said, as a 'ding' sounded from the elevator, and the double doors slid open. Stepping in, Alask made sure to get a good look at the occupants. Just a bunch of regular workers, it seemed. "Onto flight control now?" he asked Lena as the doors closed.

Alask considered the offer, then nodded. Improvise. He could improvise. It was one thing he could do with any skill, along with accidentally getting people killed. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath, imagining this was just another stage, that this was just another performance. Another play. He wasn’t Alask. He was David Turner, Alleyzon HR. When Alask opened his eyes again, he opened them with a smile. A professional smile, not to boisterous, not too nervous. Not too fake, not too real either. A smile of a business-man. “Now,” he said, looking to Ms. Miller with attentive eyes. “We would normally have a meeting with a superior to discuss things, but due to our current circumstances we have to do with what we have, no?” He gestured to the apples in his hands. “Unfortunately, our normal means of delivering these broke down, what with the Motivater jamming and the like.” Motivater. Implying Epic Tech. Implying they were rich enough to afford it. “So now we just have these. To ensure that a healthy balance between work and life is obtained, we would like everyone to have an apple from HR, free of course. Make sure everyone gets one, even those busy worker’s up in Flight Control!” He handed the apples to a guard, it fascinated Alask how the man instinctively took it from him, how he instinctively accepted the authority. Looking to Lena, Alask asked if there was anything else she wanted to add.

Contest of Champions: Walker vs. Lusk
I think I am here. replied to Darth Woodrack's topic in The Alleyverse
Lusk walked forward, towards Lusk. He let the katana he held drag behind him, carving a line in the compacted soil that made the arena floor. No thoughts clouded his head. No dreams of becoming a poet, no worries of bullies, no illusions of grandeur. No depression, no rage, no happiness. Just Lusk. The fourty-five year old man looked tiredly at the boy ahead of him. Walker Drown, circa 8 years ago. A boy of anger, of ego. Of false promises and incredible potential. The coat Lusk wore was tight. It was meant for him in a younger state, not the old loser now. Taking it off, and throwing it behind him, Lusk turned back to the youth, old muscles showing from beneath his half-sleeve shirt. Muscles from another age, another life. An old tattoo snaked down his left arm, a mark from another life. A scar told of another. A burn mark from another. Lusk was a history book, a biography of himself. It was the one insight his power gave him. Dropping the katana and brushing a tuft of grey hair from his forehead, he turned to the Drown boy. Making his cauterized hand young again to before the explosion, Lusk stretched both of his hands. Only fair he should have had two. Looking to Drown again, he nodded, an almost unperceivable motion. A move of honour. Ha, like you know what that is anymore. That died as soon as you joined the Ghostbloods. That died as soon as you killed your father. Looking back at Drown, Lusk took a step backwards. And lunged forward with a punch. -

Could a fullborn store excess health they generate when compounding gold?
I think I am here. replied to Archer's question in Cosmere Q&A
I would imagine so. It’s like with Cadmium compounding, once you have enough air you need you can store it way, then compound it more more. Compounding would allow for basically infinite Feruchemy with no storing required. Not only that, but if you kept compounding to would get more. Eg. Imagine you need 5 charges of Cadmium normally. You store up one charge > compound to ten charges store away extra five charges > compound those to fifty charges store away extra fourth-five charges > compound those to 450 charges Your charges would rise exponentially. So yeah, I’m pretty sure a Fullborn could store excess Feruchemical charges, or in other words, charges that aren’t really making a difference if you store instead of tap them. Things like strength though, I think there wouldn’t be an excess because you could always get stronger, as opposed to health, for example. -

“Ow, jeez,” Max said, briefly regaining consciousness by getting slapped repeatedly across the face. “Dude, you realise this is like a psychic induced sleep, right? So as soon as you stop slapping me I’m going to sleep again. And I’m not to keen on being slapped more.” Max fell asleep again, this time he snored a little bit.- 273 replies

“I don’t need your help.” Solace took Max’s helm from Althea and crushed it. A show of power. Suddenly, Max felt tired, exhausted, way more so than he should have been. Trying to fight back against the sleep, he Rioted Althea’s alertness, as well as almost every other emotion. Hopefully while Max was drifting away, his Rioting could counter Solace’s and Althea could stay conscious. He couldn’t go yet. They needed to test out the weakness. Before he went unconscious, he looked to Solace. “Look into my mind,” he said. “Look into our minds. See the pain we’ve been through. We’re like you. We understand.” And with that Max fell asleep.- 273 replies

Watching as Lena poisoned every apple, Alask nodded, trying to help her with his own vial of poison, accidentally pouring too much in one apple and too little in another. At this rate, they were going to poison the whole company. “Yup,” He said, walking towards the building and knocking on the door. Somebody opened. “Who is it?” They asked. Unsure what to say, Alask just looked at Lena.
