  1. This is how I have interpreted it
  2. Probably would take Shard levels of Investiture
  3. Interestingly we have 3 examples of sunlight being a source of Investiture. We have Taldain as the most prominent example, but now with Tress we know on Lumar at least it can recharge an Awakened tablet, and in SP4 the sun seems to be the source of Investiture on the world Nomad arrives in. It seems like this is a mechanism in Investiture that will be quite important in Era 4 Mistborn
  4. My choices were A-Tin because enhanced senses would be useful, especially when you're someone who has one that isn't quite good to start with. F-Copper, it would just be so useful. C-Gold, it would be nice
  5. I mean, the Firepower Indices were Frustration's idea and they have every right to make that interpretation and decision for their ranking. So I let the matter drop. Would I let an argument like that fly in another thread like a vs thread or if someone asked what the advantages of F-Iron are? Not a chance. However I view these more as fun exercises in ranking the strengths of different magic systems with Frustration asking for thoughts on things, even if they live up to their name a little too well sometimes. So despite my disagreement with the decision I still encourage the idea of these continuing. I think trying to codify these worlds and magic systems this way was a clever idea. If someone wants to create their own breakdowns and rankings I encourage that as well
  6. Two things That's a bad argument and you know it. You know quite well what i meant by consistency This is why people say you argue in bad faith. Secondly, you're still wrong. That's not physics consistency, it's not even narratively consistent as we have two examples of weight increasing to blows
  7. In traditional physics yes, but as you yourself said Feruchemy breaks physics. But it's generally consistent about how it breaks physics.
  8. That's not how force works. He's repeatedly said it increases mass and force is determined by mass. Weight is determined by mass and gravity. And it's established both in books and WoB that it's mass that's changing not gravitational pull. F=MA, it's a pretty simple equation, more mass means more force.
  9. He was just a particularly muscular Coinshot, and as I've established already, Wax overlooks uses of his abilities. The WoB that you are referring to says Sazed was wrong about density increase. Sazed thinks that it's an increase in density that let's him handle his new weight and Brandon says that part is wrong. The WoB about the increased force of hits though, that would still be trumped by the books.
  10. What? Forch is the A-Steel F-Pewter Twinborn and he doesn't have his Ironminds in that scene. Are you talking about the Coinshot on the train? While that's true, he's said that books trump WoB. So until he retcons it in the book, weight increases the force of blows.
  11. Probably was, but it goes to show that he doesn't make the most use of his abilities. It's a consistent trait of his. Wax mostly thinks about his Feruchemy in relation to its use with his Allomancy. The only time in the books he even tries to use it to his advantage outside of Steelpushes is at the end of BoM And your justification for this is? The books make much more sense than a single WoB in regards to weight and its implications for its effects on forces No, he left them in his room
  12. No, I mean when he has a bullet and complains about not having a gun before having to pause and be reminded he doesn't need one Doesn't change the fact that his WoB is still directly contradicted by the books, and until he writes a retcon, the books take priority He didn't have his Ironminds during that scene
  13. Exactly, to work except when hitting someone would be the most arbitrary thing in Feruchemy The only scene I can think of maybe being his tussle with Edwarn in BoM, though I haven't read AoL in a while so maybe in a fight with Miles
  14. That proves nothing. Just because he doesn't, doesn't mean he couldn't. Wax has on many occasions not used his powers efficiently. He had to be reminded at on one occasion that he didn't need to have a gun to launch a bullet, so him not using it to increase the strength of his punches is not proof that he couldn't
  15. Because F=MA, by tapping Iron he's making himself heavier, Brandon has consistently said that Iron affectsass, the very WoB you provided is one of them. Increasing mass translates to increasing force No he didn't, he simply said that the blow was stronger than Sazed thought and that it was comparable to two Peterarms clashing Except they don't. @alder24 already gave the HoA scene contradicted which is newer than the WoA scene and he clearly hit harder in that scene because of the increased weight and there is never a scene in Wax and Wayne that agrees with Brandon's punch comment
  16. That's ridiculous. There are two scenes where there the arms are described as heavier Yes there are misunderstandings like Sazed's belief that he gets denser, which is what the WoB was talking about. But your earlier WoB is directly contradicted by the books. Books trump WoB. Otherwise would be as bad as D&D logic and would immediately are it the single most nonsensical thing in Feruchemy
  17. He's talking about density though in that WoB. His comments about not transferring force is would invalidate the whole point of increasing weight. It would have to arbitrarily not transfer when a Feruchemist hits someone, yet transfer in literally every other aspect. As that WoB is contradicted both by logic and Well of Ascension and Hero of Ages, I think it's safe to completely ignore that sentence from that WoB
  18. I'll do a more extensive breakdown when I get a minute, one that jumps to mind is adding Iron to offensive ability. Increasing weight would have heavier hits. Combined with Steel and a Feruchemist becomes starts talking people like a truck
  19. Yes she did
  20. A pretty good summation of the problem. For anyone who's been outside in 70 mile per hour winds could say, a person can feel a great deal of air resistance. Theoretically though, as air molecules can typically move at approximately 1.5 times the speed of sound, a Steel Compounder could go near those speeds before resistance would be like hitting a wall
  21. Ok after giving this a little thought, some more additions I think would be good. Offenses: Steel and Iron allow for powerful offense like @Tglassy mentioned, but also due to the nature of how Pushes and Pulls work they also allow for attacks at odd angles which would prove to be difficult to predict for an enemy. For example, Pushing on one part of a metal while Pulling on another could let a Mistborn take metal from the area around them to suddenly fling in an arc towards enemies without having to have even been close to the Mistborn to begin with. Imagine an enemy trying to focus on fighting the Mistborn in front of them while pieces of metal keep flying around you trying to hit you. Another offensive advantage would be Chromium and Nicrosil, many Invested would have to worry about getting in close to a Mistborn for fear of their Investiture being drained or potentially worse, flying out of control. Defense: Pewter gives greater agility and dexterity as well, this would make it easier to dodge attacks. Iron and Steel would also be invaluable for defense, just thinking about Kelsier's cloud of metal surrounding him and making it dangerous for anyone to get in close. Stealth: Bendalloy could be useful here as well. Need to cross somewhere someone might see you? Bendalloy bubble and time your movement and the most they might see is a blur. Emotional Allomancy could be useful for making any guards bored and less attentive Unsure which category to put this one in, offense maybe?: Subtle emotional Allomancy to make opponents feel overconfident and less worried about the Allomancer or to increase frustrations to increase the likeliness of their opponent making a mistake
  22. Seems likely. Rashek may have been older than mid 20s though if Vin's use of Malatium showed what he was like before, though it might have just shown an alternate life he could have lived
  23. That's a good question. I personally like the idea of one previous user of the Well being the source of the Feruchemy bloodline though.
