  1. Cradle, Traveler's Gate, and Elder Empire by Will Wight all have interesting magic systems. They're not entirely the most unique, but they've all got special flavor that twists them closer to complete originality.
  2. I wonder what the name was before? We have confirmation it wasn't always called Detritus, and I wonder when it was changed and what it was initially. Did they change it after the delver incident turned it into trash for their purposes? Maybe that's why it was avoided as a planet, the name had some reminder of the massacre from attempting to harness the delvers. Surely if whatever other name the planet had in the past was registered in the Defiant or somewhere in the memory banks of the fleet. Surely it wouldn't have been abandoned so entirely after only the 75-80 years since the Defiant's crash. I guess that's another question to add to my pile to ask BSandy.
  3. Still can't believe Lopen can taste the difference. Hilarious.
  4. "The bright azure light of Honor's Moon revealed thirty figures..." page 416 by the Kindle copy I have, just before Venli gets caught staring at the Deepest Ones.
  5. I pictured them as telescoping inward for storage/concealment.
  6. If you go to gmail settings, then find the tab "Filters and Blocked Addresses," you can create a filter that applies a custom label to the emails from that address (in this case, [email protected]) and then you can always find it just by clicking on the label in the sidebar.
  7. Out of curiosity, have you tried filtering for the email address to make sure it gets a special label? It solved me not getting it.
  8. The Natans are hybrids with Siah Aimians like Axies the Collector and that's where their blueness originates from.
  9. Honestly, I know you have him rated as a low possibility, but I think it's Nale. Let's say someone was directed by a ruling authority somewhere to get information about things. Then they find/invite Nale somewhere and grill him with the authority of that nation and Nale may just bend to the questioning because it has legal backing and Nightblood being free and around does bad things.
  10. It's possible Branderson changed his mind in the two (Secret History was 2016 right?) years between that WOB and SH, but it's also possible that was solely about that one incident, since I'm not sure that's a regular thing for Khriss to be able to observe. On a lot of levels.
  11. Behold. An intriguing truth. Provided it hasn't been contradicted, at least.
  12. We're still missing a bunch of information, particularly things like Hoid's backstory and some pretty significant details on the Dawnshards and the Shattering, so right now? No, you can't understand it all. Give it 30 something years for all the yet-unpublished books to come out and then we'll be a lot closer to a complete understanding of the cosmere and its workings.
  13. It would probably be extremely temporary, not to mention the blood-type matching you'd have to do to make it work without worrying about rejection that may even spill over onto the soul. But it could be neat to see someone make that work.
  14. Yeah, it'd basically just be a fun confluence that some higher being decided to make profit on and double up on benefits. I was thinking maybe Stronmaus (from the giant pantheon) or someone similar, because I'd like it to be tied in with his giant origin. Stronmaus is credited as god of sun, sky, weather, seas, and joy, which could help explain why the advice he got from his patron was basically "hey go here and there'll be cool things." Someone exploratory, basically. I kind of want him to have wanderlust. For age, I was thinking about 21 ish. Young, but not young enough to enroll in the school for unwitting child soldiers.
  15. Solid advice. I wish I'd done that.
  16. Oh I meant like his eyes look like a solid chunk of emerald except they're functioning eyes. There are generally not enough aasimar to have cities full of them, since normally beings on that level that are also willing to imbue a bloodline with their power are...rare, but if you wanted to say that there were enough, that's DM choice. Two aasimar will not always make an aasimar, but it's more likely than otherwise, and they can also be randomly born whenever a deva (or any similar being) decides "hey I'm gonna make this fetus have Main Character Syndrome." Their society is mostly just normal human stuff, but they tend to be glorified a lot because of their whole "blessed by the heavens" thing going on. I was thinking he was getting urged by whichever being aasimar-ified him in the first place (I still need to plan for what the deal is with that) via dream communication that there was something happening in Cazzord that could use his attention as a way to give him a purpose because he'd recently been lacking goals and that never goes well for him. If I'm making it too difficult on you by choosing an Aasimar for my race, I can swap, it's no biggie.
  17. I see someone is thinking of Hemalurgic tattoos. At least I hope so, I'd hate to think that I was the only one whose mind went there.
  18. Especially once things go truly off the rails
  19. Eltin does not, Fallen Aasimar and Protector Aasimar are the two that get their wings with race feature stuff, Scourge Aasimar just kind...vomit searing light like the energy-bending in ATLA except radiant damage. Understandable. The backstory I had in mind was mostly simple: his parents were humans both carrying a dormant bloodline to some giantish deity/deity's servant and that being is helping guide Eltin toward full realization of his abilities. The specifics are lacking, I'll admit, but there's plenty of room to conform to anything you put in, or I could bang out more details if you want me to.
  20. Alright, fair enough, thank you! Name: Eltin Race: (Scourge) Aasimar Class: Sorcerer (preferably Giant Soul origin, but if that doesn't work, just tell me) Alignment: Chaotic Good Appearance: Tan skin, green eyes, golden hair. Tall and broad. Personality: Driven toward his goals, but prone to listlessness without one.
  21. Yeah I saw that, thanks, but I was talking more like general tech level of the world, because "fairly advanced" means something different to everyone. I'm mostly trying to figure out what the gun status is, which I guess I should have been more clear about, so that's on me.
  22. Alright, I'm intrigued. Couple quick questions though: what's the setting like, what's your policy on homebrewed material, and is it 5e DnD? (I'm assuming that last one is going to be a yes because of the CR reference, but I figured I'd double check.)
  23. Watch the movie first. It can only go up from there.
  24. I think it's probably just normal fluctuations. Sometimes things don't grow as well as they always have, no reason that would change with Roshar's funky growing methods. That, or the worms are spreading too fast for the villagers to be able to get them all out and ruining whole groupings of crops, since we know there was some worm shenanigans happening in the quarterstaff fight flashback and I can't imagine the villagers' deworming process being an easy thing. You can click the "report post" button on the initial post and request for a mod to change it I think. No idea if that's the most efficient way to do it or not.
  25. Kwaan had an eidetic memory, allowing him to have perfect recall of the prophecies without putting them into his copperminds to be altered by Ruin. When things misaligned between what he remembered and what others had stored in their copperminds, he knew things were happening. Edit: ninja'd hahaha
