Sons of Honor trying to return the Voidbringers

It makes it significantly more depraved. -
Sons of Honor trying to return the Voidbringers

He was crazy. They're all crazy. Sane Heralds are a thing of the past. I think he wanted to treat it like setting a bone: pain now, better healing later. That or he just wanted to die again. -
Stormlight books are getting to long (poll)
Invocation replied to Matias's topic in Stormlight Archive
You say that, but even TWOK's interludes were largely plot-related. Ishikk was setting up the plague in the Purelake that comes up as an obstacle to Dalinar's war in later books, Balat was foreshadowing Davar/Ghostblood issues for Shallan to have to handle, and Szeth's is moving him into place for the future. Rysn's first one is setting up her plotline and puts in some backstory for Szeth, Axies introduces spren shenanigans including unique spren and the difficulties of getting some spren to show up, and Szeth's second one puts him directly on the collision course with the main plot. Baxil sets up the Nightwatcher's Old Magic for it's direct relevancy as well as getting into Herald madness, Geranid is diving deeper into spren things that started with Axies's interlude, and Szeth's third interlude is again heightening Szeth's relevancy. The only real difference is that the arc is coming to the end, so more things are coming up due for that individual book's plot instead of setting up future plot things. -
Theory on Azure's blade [updated with RoW]
Invocation replied to Benkinsky's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think it would be interesting to see a mimicked Shardblade from another Shard, but I'm not sure assuming that Azure's blade is any different other than lacking whatever chunks of Ruin got involved in Nightblood's creation (per the spoilered WOB) is the right path. There's too many routes to go down for that, including with the two still-unknown Shards. It's a good theory though!- 16 replies

Stormlight books are getting to long (poll)
Invocation replied to Matias's topic in Stormlight Archive
Nah. The longer the better. It'd be one thing if there was a lot of stuff that could be cut, but that's not the thing here. Even the downtime has ramifications for the future in addition to providing spots where the reader can let a breath out instead of being wound up for the whole book. Plus it's epic fantasy, long books are expected. 200 pages per book work for some things, don't get me wrong, but Stormlight is far, far beyond the point where 200 pages would work for a mainline novel of the series.- 26 replies

Key Kalton! Welcome to the Shard! Are you ready for the Wheel of Time first season this November?

Hello Liriel! Welcome to the Shard! What's your favorite cosmere magic system?

Who do you think will die on the Next Book?
Invocation replied to Matias's topic in Stormlight Archive
Dalinar is dead meat. If he makes it out of this book whole and remaining in the Physical Realm, I will grind up a printout of this comment and drink it like a smoothie. Metaphorically and potentially literally. I don't think Kaladin dies, but I do think he ends up not physically whole by the end of everything, just because it seems like things are going to go to Braize in a basket in Shinovar. On a similar note, I'd be vaguely surprised if Szeth makes it through whole. -
It is. (Spoilering for length)

Spook tearing off his blindfold and seeing what he's done in HoA has always got to me a little bit, as much as anything else in any book has. The abrupt shift of perspective, the realization that he's been manipulated from a force for good into a force of Ruin and then accepting that he would probably have to die to undo what he'd done. It hits as hard as anything for me.

Lerasium is a godmetal, a physical manifestation of pure Investiture from any of the Shards. Lerasium is from Leras, hence the name, who held Preservation for a very long time. If you haven't read Mistborn, don't click this: Someone else is going to have to do the other bit.

I still think Kelsier will be connected to the Mistborn serial killer thing in Era 3.

It would work. There is also a theory about Gavilar being returned in some way, shape, or form to be Odium's champion, so these two things could be intertwined. I'm not sure if enough of Gavilar would remain to mimic Clod's memory of his previous self, since I'm not sure how the beginnings of a Nahel bond stack up against a Divine Breath and whatever other hordes of Breath Arsteel might have had, but I do think it would be interesting to see someone get reConnected to their mortal remains as a kind of deep-dive on cosmere ressurection.

There are...so many theories. I'll link Frustration's theory, because it's fun to read, but that's one of many. 3 pages worth.

No, it's not about that Certain Someone. This one's about our erstwhile Odium, Rayse, or at least what's left of him. The man was incredibly Invested before his death, to the point that I think even if Nightblood were to shunt every other one of his victims to the Beyond directly (which I am not sure about by any means), he may be a unique case. If his Shadow did stick around and is now bopping around in the Cognitive somewhere, what's he up to? What are the odds of him plotting something? What do y'all think?

https://coppermind.net/wiki/Death_Rattle/list I believe this has everything we know about all of them, and if it does not, it's probably still the most collected grouping of Rattles.

I'd keep it as Kel-see-er, since if I'm remembering the WOB about the pronunciation right the Kell-see-ay pronunciation is the noble way to pronounce it and since the majority of the cast is skaa and/or actively embracing their skaa halves over their noble halves, it makes more sense in my mind if they used the skaa pronunciation.

We're all living for the Rock novella. Best character.

I appreciate the offer but no thanks.

Hahaha, that's the best way to do it. Become one of the clamoring masses, scraping and clawing for new cosmere content. But really this is the best time to start Wax and Wayne, since the final book for them comes out next year, and you've still got Elantris, White Sand, Aether of Night (technically unpublished, but you can only get it here!), and the stories in Arcanum Unbounded to get through! Plus whatever Stormlight novella releases between now and SA 5 (I think it's supposed to be a Rock novella).

Welcome to the never-ending pit of the cosmere, Ken! What cosmere book(s) are you going to read next?

@xinoehp512 @The Unknown Order Sorry for the lack of response, I had to move into a dorm and then my computer wouldn't start when I tried to plug it in. Rip. Anyway I'm fairly sure I misunderstood entirely so just pretend I was never here

I was counting the protective storm around Akinah as the half. It doesn't move like the Ever- and highstorms do, so I didn't feel it counted fully.

Okay, new idea. This one lets you keep the triforce, now that I know for sure it's on purpose. Meet Aon Eto. Look at that big open gap in the middle there. Could put the triforce there. Design intact, cosmere reference in full swing. And let's be real, it would look really cool.
-
You could do something with the Ghostblood symbol, unless you're really attached to the triforce thing you've got going.
