  1. Yeah, but I really cannot recommend the Fate route anime, and the Unlimited Blade Works movie was...mediocre at best. Still can't wait for the Heaven's Feel movie though. Heard it'll be getting at least two, to avoid the overstuffing that happened last time.
  2. Not sure if they've been brought up before, but if you liked Fate/Zero, I highly recommend Unlimited Blade Works and Madoka Magica. Unlimited Blade works is the sequel to Fate/Zero and acts as a Deconstruction of the all-loving Martyr Without a Cause hero. Madoka Magica spent several episodes where not even the VAs knew it was anything but a run-of-the-mill Magical Girl anime, and then suddenly got....fun. Bokurano for those who really like psychological animes, though I warn you now that it really doesn't really care where it has to go to keep the dark atmosphere, so be warned. And Baccano! is fantastic, with great characters and the kind of anachronic-storytelling I've always been a sucker for.
  3. I have more faith in the intelligence of our Sharders than saying this might imply, but just in case you don't get the joke by this point: Dyhydrogen Monoxide is water. There are some pretty good records from when senators try to get this stuff banned, only to be shut down by people who actually did their research in blunt and hilarious fashion.
  4. Perhaps it's just the context from when it plays, but I've always found False God from the Talos Principle fitting as the theme for Preservation!Vin. From ascending, to battling, and then to ripping herself apart and taking Ruin with her.
  5. Okay then. Use a Southern-Scadrial Stellpush machine as the deadman switch. It's Invested, so it's bound to interact oddly with the bubble. Alternatively, use radio waves but with stops in-between that have to physically move to send the signal to the next one. The delay there is bound to be noticed. In other words, this kind of switch needs some low-tech to go with the high. The counter to all of this would be to mimic the signal within the bubble, but if you can do that, you're already way ahead.
  6. And if that doesn't work physically sending electronic pulses to it really should, though that's way easier to counter. The GRAND TIME LIMIT FACTOR of one of the next books is gonna be a Pulser who is either shot nearly point-blank or thrown off a cliff, and they fire off their powers full-throttle, buying the protagonists precious extra minutes to fight past the Dragon and get to the Big Bad to save their friend before they get slo-mo killed. Edit: I keep misreading Pulser and Pulsar, and it's messing with my head.
  7. All 4 Mistborn: Where you learn about Shards and where most of our out-there speculation comes from Elantris: Vague ideas around how Investure works, as well as at least one member of the Seventeenth Shard. Emperor's Soul: Realmatics central. That pretty much covers how the 3 realms work as well as the future of Sel. Warbreaker: Connected directly to WoR, more about how Cosmere magic works, etc. A world with a recent Shard too. Stormlight Archive: All of the knowledge. All of it. Parallels and improvements to everything learned in all the other books. I would highly recommend re-reading these, especially Mistborn and Stormlight Archive. There's a lot of hidden stuff in there that you'll miss even after a few rereads. Plus, do we really even need an excuse to go back through these books? Interviews and links to them can be found all over the forums, and contain clarifications and a lot of extensions to things you might not see answered directly in the books. Annotations to Brandon's books can be found at his website library, at the bottom of this page. They go chapter by chapter and contain a lot of cool bonus information. With all that, you're ready to be more-or-less competent all around the boards. The rest is just experience and hands-on learning. Have fun
  8. Have the bomb receiving signals from someplace else. When the rate of radio signals changes, the bomb goes off automatically because that's a sign of time alteration. I've always kind of wondered if you could get somebody through a wall using time bubbles, without needed to be in line of sight.
  9. Hahaha, that guild was actually totally independent of me. I believe one of the earliest posts after its inception was that it might get confusing with me running around outside of it First thing that comes to mind is "Wasing the Wanting of Snowman Building?", and the many other High-Imperial things you wrote.
  10. I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED, PUNY, THREE-DIMENSIONAL MORTAL!
  11. Can't speak for everybody else, but I mostly know you from Elimination and this section of the boards.
  12. You guys are forgetting the best food in the entire Mistborn series. Elend's horse.
  13. Something tells me that if you're going to go to the heathen god city in your desperation to heal your wife, you'd remember your godmagic-cancelling powers that took 50 people's lives to create, and not touch the healing aon. It always read like Dalif had to actively use his powers, as he was able to break Raoden's disguise long-distance, and the wall he set up at the end only broke when Dilaf willed it to shatter. I find it very unlikely somebody who'd gone so far would be so careless at the healing. But then again, we know almost nothing about the Dahkor powers, so there's not really a way to be completely sure.
  14. 7/10, reminded me a little too much of an advertisement, which I guess is what it is. Nothing wrong was doing that, just my old bad-forum instincts light up on sight.
  15. You clearly don't know me well enough to know anytime I post a lot of quotes, my ego will not allow me to leave out myself. It's from the sodium-misting thread by Shiver, back when I very first joined and was still a little bit loopy, I made a "chart" of various sodium-alloys and their powers on the one burning them. A lot of my old attempts at humor while my mind wasn't quite in place are extremely embarrassing in retrospect, and this is one of them. Setting aside my galaxy-sized ego for a moment, try to guess who said this without the search bar.
  16. Wanna see an autophobic Steel or Iron misting. There are so many things wrong with that.
  17. From the Stormlight Archive cereal advertisement thread by Zenith, as well as the Epic Godmetal "theory" by Shivertongue.
  18. Well, it'd be the pot and the kettle if I didn't like cryptic poems with possible secondary meanings wouldn't it? 8/10 (OT but nice avatar, by the way.)
  19. My ego is so badly bruised, I might just skip to the end of this lurk cycle and post more again. I still think of Kurk, Voidus and the like when I think of the Shard. Guess I'm a little mid-old school like that.
  20. I'll go with the obvious answer and say Hurt n' Heal games are where I remember you from best.
  21. For, despite the best efforts with upvotes and downvotes shamelessly abused each day by countless brave sharders, still managing to surpass the reputation levels of Brandon. Some of us are still angry/baffled to this day.
  22. Personally I wasn't a huge fan of it, but that's pretty normal since I'm not a huge fan of Avengers movies. It always feels like the power gaps between characters have to be shrunk somehow to make the lesser heroes like Cap or Hawkeye feel less useless, to say nothing of Black Widow. Liked Ultron, wished they could have done more with him. Loved the banter and every joke about Thor's hammer. My irritation at the softness of Ultron and The Vision's powers is currently being ignored because The Vision is a thing again and that's good enough for me. I vaguely wish there didn't have to be yet another "make them not trust each other" subplot, but I'll grudgingly admit it worked this time while also reminding me of a lot of other good vs good scenes I've liked from other shows. I'm getting derailed and losing flow and coherence, what else is new. Basically, it was good, but I'm not about to start gushing over it.
  23. I wonder if we can get Urithuru out of these.
