  1. Vin is, in her own little way, something outside of his hatred and his vendetta, and a solid reminder of Mare and what could have been. Watching Vin almost die was probably bringing up a lot of Mare memories, and unlike most crew-member deaths would, it actually hit him pretty hard. At least, that's how I see it.
  2. As nice as it is that we can kill Prof using unlimited materials and a lot of time, we should probably be looking for something a little easier to manage. Dropping him into the ocean would probably keep him down for a long time, but that's borderline impossible to pull off, even for a flying Epic, since it all but requires you to choose the stadium and have tons of time to plan things out. Is there any way to handle Prof that doesn't involve a crazy amount of time, resources, and preparation? Wouldn't it just be easier to use a large explosion and then chop him into pieces once you pound through the shield? It's been shown to run out, so then it's just Healing Factor, which can be overcome with slicing and dicing. I guess what I'm saying is, we should probably limit ourselves to practicality. Overkill is still nice, but practicality trumps.
  3. I'll say it connects to her justice-based life. She was religious and once a judge, so I'd say that'll be relevant.
  4. *Is imagining a bunch of Inquisitors with stupid Spanish accents*
  5. That's still one page. Most pages have all their tropes listed right there with the description, but others simply have too many for that. Those subpages would normally not exist if not for sheer size, so it likely still counts as one. The "Heartwarming" or "Awesome" subpages, however, are always distinct and probably count as a jump.
  6. When you're willing to stare at a textbox for hours at a time trying to come up with yet another way to tell you're obsessed.
  7. The point is that those are *really* obvious fits now that they've happened, even if there was a bit of metaphorical stuff going on. A lot of other interpretations are kind of iffy, which is a pretty good sign of not fitting. Even the ones that weren't totally literal still fit like a glove.
  8. Hyper-Destructive Bouncy Ball --> Mythbusters --> Genre Savvy --> (Um. What!? NO SANDERSON!? WHY!?!) --> Dangerously Genre Savvy --> Warbreaker --> Brandon Sanderson Could have made it in 4, but stupid Genre Savvy didn't have an entry.
  9. I was just getting over my addiction, and now it's back. Thanks. Undermined by Reality --> The LEGO Movie --> Arc Words --> Stormlight Archive --> Brandon Sanderson and one more time before I go.... Lonely at the Top --> Homestuck (Obviously. it has ALL the tropes. All of them.) --> Anyone Can Die --> Brandon Sanderson/Mistborn --> Brandon Sanderson.
  10. Well, what Betrail means is, can Lift attract a logicspren or a painspren? If so, and knowing how horrible the Grinders are (Stone Unhallowed reading), that could be a serious problem. Then again, if she counts as a spren, we have heard Syl say that attracting other spren would be impossible.
  11. It seems to be a common misconception. Conflux can create electricity, so he gifts to enforcement officers so that they can power the suits and batteries any time they like. Likewise, Prof isn't giving his powers to the tensors, they're just props to explain why the crew can do the impossible. When David's tensor is shredded and he tells Prof he's cornered, Prof tells him to use it anyway, the first hint that the tensors themselves are just pretty gloves. So far I haven't seen anything to suggest a gifter can fork their power over to an inanimate object.
  12. The Americas are the first thing that spring to mind, though for some reason I'm leaving out Canada. Asia and India come up, along with the Middle East later. Depending on the topic, I might think of Africa as an afterthought. Australia is almost never on my mind though. (Sorry people.) Quite an interesting question you pose there. The world is so huge, thinking about it as a whole generally leads to a lot of generalization and cutting. Yes...the more I think about it, the more I like this question and its implications. Thanks for asking it!
  13. If your cookies are as stale as these jokes, I probably don't want to go anywhere near them.
  14. A one armed Herdazian loses a drinking contest. I hope you all found this wildly implausible event humorous.
  15. One of these days I'll be able to write a decent post. One of these days.
  16. Vin picked up a bar. She turned to mist before she could get the other one though.
  17. One last thing. The epigraphs, or The Reply, in WoR also scream "It's Hoid!" At one point he mentioned that "You seem to be naming yourself what what you see as one of your virtues" and a whole bunch of other stuff pointing Wit/Hoid's way. There's no reason to sling around downvotes, this is pretty solid canon.
  18. Brandon has confirmed that Hoid wrote the letter. In a Q&A, he mentioned that you could tell Hoid had some kind of beef with Bavadin. The only time Bavadin is ever mentioned is in the Letter. Therefore, until somebody can show a different place this could be talking about, it's pretty safe to assume that Hoid is the writer. One moment while I try to find the quote only to be sniped by Kirk or one of the other quotemasters. EDIT: About ten seconds in I've found another interesting source.
  19. Bavadin walks into a bar. He can't get a drink though, because nobody can know anything at all about him.
  20. A midnight essence walks into a bar. Unfortunately, his identification was considered inaccurate due to daylight savings time.
  21. I was so temped to make fun of the Midnight Essence with a daylight savings joke.

    1. Kobold King

      Kobold King

      I would so upvote that.

  22. I say if Vin has access to Bendalloy, there's no amount of final form that can save you from her.
  23. Basically a textbook example of why we can't have nice things? (Also, while I wasn't on for anything later on, there was only a single user I could see that was posting crap in the chatbox, and he was as legit user, not a bot. Not sure if I missed something or if that's even relevant.)
  24. Except Elend with Brass and Duralumin.
  25. Hoid walks in shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, he does.
