What I meant was that midnight mother wants to create human illusions so if she sees shallan actually create perfect human illusions that also feel real to touch that will astound her completely.. And we also know that pattern says this is how shallan is thinking her power works but an actual image is not needed.. and I don’t think every lightweaver will be into sketching. There were all sorts of artists in the order so I don’t see everyone requiring to draw.. And invisibility is hardly that OP.. it is something which is very common and could be very useful against smokeform..

Yes I can see that.. already she had created illusions wi some weight in OB at the end and Jasnah thought using both surges to create a fake army with mass is possible. Shallan has already created giant illusion of Kaladin to distract the chasmfiend from squishing him. @Karger in that showdown, already shallan’s illusions are better than midnight mothers but if shallan manages to give them actual weight too by transforming air into matter etc then I think midnight mother would totally flip out.. Also guys, I have always wondered if surge of illumination allows shallan to become invisible.. because I don’t see why not..

@ILuvHats nice find about Tara.. I totally missed it in OB but I think you are right.. I have always said that I think Tara and Kaladin will get back together.. she is out there somewhere and had helped him at a tough time after tien’s death and Kaladin has already expressed his regret for how he had handled the whole thing.. I think if they were to meet again something is definitely possible.. I think Many people want Kaladin and Jasnah together because they are, our favourite male and female character in the series and both are single but I think it would be very cliche.. I don’t see any hint of that happening so far in the books.

He thinks he deserves them because he carries the guilt for not being able to save Tien and then failing to save his squad. He has not forgiven himself for these failures but I think he has started that journey.. So, once he swears the fourth ideal, his slave brands should go away..

But that is the whole idea that the ideals that these orders represent, are so flexible and their are so many interpretations that there is not really such a thing as un-radiant like behaviour.... Yes he did not want to be king but for him, it was not about shirking away from responsibility but getting out of the way so that the right person could be selected for the job.. Not every order cares about leadership.. It is said that only if the oaths that were broken are said anew could then the dead eyes become alive again.. the only catch being that it should be the same radiant who broke the oaths. But those radiants are long dust in the wind.. so some work around must be required regarding the identity and connection of the one who must say the oath anew but I don’t see how the oath can be avoided at all.. But it is possible that this bond that Adolin will form will be different somehow from the regular radiant bonds..

@Lunu’anaki Agreed. In fact, I think such a stalemate is exactly what odium would want? We already know that he has agreed to the fight of champions and odium is going to be avoiding Dalinar, because he does not want the terms to be finalised.... so, this scenario, is in odiums favour. Dalinar would want the fight to happen actually..

I don't think a shard can nominate themselves as a champion. The entire point of a battle of champions is generally to fight by proxy. But @Karger I was not at all talking about the fight of champions, I was merely saying that Hoid has good reason to stay away from odium because even if Hoid were unkillable by a shard, which I doubt, there are other ways, which a shard would know, to hurt Hoid .....

I like the idea and it is probably on point, that, the two surges combine and change the way different orders use their both surges.. shallan using illumination to transform and guess vice versa will also be possible.. it is beautifully articulated.. And truthwatchers - illuminating the progression of something or someone.. very cultivationy again..

I think a shard can kill him easily or really hurt him, trap him, then prevent him from achieving his larger goal, whatever that is, but it is most important to him, and like he has said he will not risk anything that will jeopardise his goal....
