However, the "Radiant" system does not work only with Honor, as you said. I think there is sufficient proof that it works with Cultivation as well, and probably Adonalsium too (if cryptics are indeed Adonalsium spren).

Lol. Assassination is a criminal offence, no matter who gives the orders. However, I think everyone here mistakes Darkness's purpose. He is not a policeman. He's not going after offenders. He's going after surgebinders. Yes, he needs justification, probably because of his nature (Nalan). But his purpose is going after surgebinders. Not offenders. He has no interest in Szeth because he is not a surgebinder.
-
We don't really know how Szeth will even react to a surgebinder with the same powers as his, but no shardblade. EDIT: I'm sorry I am not a writer, I'm sure somebody else could have done a much better job... But really ... throwing a shardblade...? Not gonna happen. EDIT: Pffft.... BEST WEAPON EVER: A ShardBow. WIth a ShardArrow.... Shoot, summon, shoot, summon.... Now this would be great for a fanfic.

She throws Renarin the Blade, but he turns one second too late. And now the number of sin fruits is increased by one. damnation, he had so much potential. Then she goes mad, join Odium, start killing every shardholder, and collect'em shards, such that no one will repeat her mistakes. After collecting 100 shards, she will have so much power, she will become a shard herself. She will be known only as "Blades".

Good insight, thek9. I wonder if they work together or not (Mr T and the Ghostbloods).

If we haven't seen KR creating thunderclasts, it does not mean they cannot. We haven't seen "voidbringers" lashing, it does not mean they cannot. It does not say here that the enemy was using them exclusively. I linked the dragonwasps because they would be VERY important in a war with surgebinders on both sides.

Thanks, hoser. Am I the only one to interpret this as we actually have another shard besides Honor an Cultivation? That is still alive? What if this is *before* Odium came? If Brayse is his home-base, he never technically "ruled" on Roshar. Yesterday I advanced a theory that the 4 corners of the KR chart belong to 4 types of spren: windrunners have honorspren, edgedancers have cultivationspren, lightweavers have cryptics, and stonewardens have another 100% spren. Cryptics and the stonewardens spren are 100% Ado-spren and the unamed shard, respectively. These are the 4 "pillars", the other orders have "mixed" spren.

We know the plate is fueled by gems, but why? Presumably, when you get hit, the blade uses the stormlight to repair itself. So having the gems there would make it possible to stay longer on the battlefield. So, in a bare sense, plates work as they should. However, we've seen plates glow on radiants, we've seen helmets dissapearing, and I am pretty sure plates did not use the gems to repair themselves before. 1) I do believe plates were fueled by the stormlight emanating from the radiant. Maybe the pockets that exist now were used by the radiants to store stormlight for themselves, maybe there were no pockets before and were added over time. 2) Helmets dissapearing - it can be something as "easy" as having a transportation fabrial embedded, but I think that actually is because of the glyphs - see below. 3) Glyphs - I think that in addition to the "basic" function, plates act also as a fabrial with the help of a spren. We don't know a fabrial needs to keep a spren "prisoner", maybe spren can enter and leave plates as they want. So, when fighting, the KR's spren is part of the plate, and instead of the metal frame used on the modern fabrials, the etching of glyphs in the plate will determine a stormlight pattern. Have one transportation glyph on the helmet, and you can "make it dissapear". Have one division-based glyph like the pattern on the spanreed, and you can talk to base. I am very sure that's the role of the glyphs on the armour - to form stormlight patterns like those in the modern fabrial. I only wonder how the big glyphs on the armour were used, or the ones on the blades....

Wait, what? Where is this coming from? I thought BS said Odium is on Roshar, and pretty invested...

Why is it assumed that Thunderclasts are evil creatures? Just because heralds killed some? Did anyone had the theory that thunderclasts can be summoned by a surgebinder (i.e. stonewarden)? And the enemy is another army of surgebinders? Why else would the dragonswasps be so prized and useful? If you were fighting just thunderclasts?

I would like to change my prediction for Renarin, to: STONEWARDEN With a new theory: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/4530-rosharan-sybology/#entry72496

The 4 corners do have 1 extra connection. Don't know if it means anything though. I almost said that maybe the 4 are using honorspren, but Shallan is in there and she has a cryptic. How about if there are 4 base types of spren? windrunner being 100% honorspren, edgedancer 100% cultivation, shallan's 100% cryptic, and last one is renarin's spren (let's hope that's not 100% odiumspren lol) With the rest being "mixed" spren... PS: this would make Renarin a Stonewarden.

"Odium has killed me" does not necessary means a direct "mano-a-mano" confrontation between them. Odium could have killed him indirectly.

I understand Wit's tardiness and confusion remarks as "you're too late, Tanavast is already dead..., you're confused if you think you're a Herald of the Almighty, since the Almighty is dead... you're unfortunate because things have already played out, and you're alone in this, the others have abandoned you"...
-
He was surprised, not necessary "happily"... since the radiants would tap his shard's power, theoretically weakening him... And, with the heralds gone, and a lot of his investiture tainted, his remaining not-tainted investiture would have been in the radiants, therefore them not being honourable would have been the "final" blow. EDIT: With the heralds in Damnation I would agree with you that Radiants leaving would have killed him.

Kaladin trains spear (darkeyes), Renarin has to learn sword (lighteyes). Renarin will not learn spear, Kaladin will not teach sword. Conclusion: Kaladin will not train Renarin. EDIT: at least not in weapons...

I can see more of Jasnah becoming an antihero, because of her strong convictions... To me she's like Mierin ... and she can become Lanfear anytime

There are lots of things unclear in the epilogue.... 1) Wit saying: "Welcome, lost one" 2) Talenel saying: "And I have failed" 3) Wit: "I fear you might be too late, my confused, unfortunate friend" Why lost? What did Talenel failed to do? Why does Wit say he's too late? too late for what? Since radiants appear when a desolation starts, why is then Talenel too late? Why does Wit say Talenel is confused? My impression is that Talenel thinks Almighty died because of him... or he's confused about Almighty being dead... something along this lines...

It looks to me like Adolin would be happy to have his brother fight by his side... And again, I don't think Renarin KR would be able to defeat Adolin full sharded. At least not until he gets all "leveled-up". And I don't see that happening very soon. In the meantime, I see Adolin becoming KR as well...

1) not likely, he's been through that torture multiple times 2) why would he hate the other heralds? they broke, he didn't... with the others in damnation or without, he would have suffered the same... contrary, he might want to convince them to come back in the oathpact, if possible, or help humanity in the coming war. e.g. Nalan/Darkness would be convinced now that his efforts were futile, and will start training the surgebinders instead of killing them... 3) why would he do that? even if he would not want to go back, he would abandon it after the fighting... I don't think he has it in him to abandon a fight, this is contrary to all we know about him - that is, looking for where the fighting is more intense... 4) if he dies, the oathpact still stands... 5) this would not explain his words at the end of the book. and he would not go the the kholin place, he would go to one of odium's places...

Sorry, did not mean to be rude, the posts were about 2 different things, so it made sense to me to be disassociated. I mean that people were all lactose-intolerant in the past. Some of them (especially in western europe) developed lactose-tolerance after domesticating cattle. So, even if you want to say lactose-intolerance is an illness, that would not be technically incorrect. Because that's the "normal" state of a human. So you can only use "lactose-tolerance" as an illness in the example above, since it deviates from "normal" behaviour. I think Adolin has had a tremendous character development throughout WoK. We've seen him think about his actions and consequences, we've seen him obeying, we've seen him coming to peace with himself, we've seen him do the right thing. Nothing gave me the impression that this will change. And we've seen him having a great relationship with Renarin, and this makes me believe he would be actually happy about Renarin. In addition, Adolin is great at fighting. If Renarin becomes a KR, he would not necessary be the one on the front lines, like Adolin. Szeth, with great knowledge about windrunner abilities, was practically defeated by Gavilar, and won by happenstance. Renarin being a KR and Adolin not would not mean that Renarin would become a great fighter overnight. He might never become one. He might be the support, the brains, the one with new ideas. This would complement Adolin, and they would make a powerful team together, on the battlefield and outside.

Exactly.

Erm, why?

Just saying, you can't consider lactose-intolerance as an illness because, by default, we are lactose-intolerant. You can say lactose-tolerance is an illness.

This looks to me as the actual moment Honor died. And the KR did actually betray humankind.
