Serious Writing Problem

These are all great ideas, so thank you, and I'll definitely try them out to see which one works best for the story. -
Controversial Opinions
Totally_Not_A_Worldhopper replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Yes. That is actually... a decent summary of my Avengers: Endgame theory... This is also just me. It's a really interesting way to go with his character (both this element, and everything else they do w/ Loki). I have one other thing to say, which is that I need to take back my anti-John Green controversial opinion from last year. Sort of. I have now read TFIOS, and loved it. -
The book I bought today is
Totally_Not_A_Worldhopper replied to Briar King's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I "bought" The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Choshki. (Techinically I got it as part of a subscription box which arrived today, but thought I'd share it, because it is THE BEST). -
I have reappeared on this thread! Yay! Anyway, someone mentioned Children of the Whales, and I am currently obsessed with that anime.

game Cosmere Codenames

I'd like to play. -
So, one of the two main races (in a vague sense) that exists in my story are half animal, half human. One of my main characters is currently half koi fish, with an orange and white tail. This is partially to emphasize that she is less strong and mobile than other characters, and partially for the mermaid/siren imagery (which serves as character development later on). However, I'm struggling, now that I'm beginning to actually write the story, to figure out how to have her move, as typically, you know, fish can't move on ground. Does anyone have any advice for being able to get around this without stretching suspension of belief too much (and all that), or otherwise a way to keep the same story telling elements but making it more practical for her to move? Thank you for helping me out with this.

What Kind of Phone Do You Have?
Totally_Not_A_Worldhopper replied to Chaos's topic in General Discussion
Yeah! It was pretty good. Or, maybe the OnePlus Two was.... I can't remember. I have a Galaxy S7 -
These are more a collection of ones I hate. The least favourite is listed at the end. Denna from the Kingkiller Chronicle. The main characters of the The Selection Series(s (Do you pluralize Series for this?)) - America and Eadlyn were both annoying, and I'm not a big fan of Erik either. Mare, and to a lesser extent Cal, from the Red Queen Series Anderson from Sherlock And the least favourite is......... Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter.

Basically, put what genre this character is from, and then a description of them/ introduction to their character. Try to make them as typical a main character for that genre as you can. You can also include stuff that's true but wouldn't typically be included in a book (like how bad your character is at making descisions). Self aware characters are great! For Example, this is my attempt at a YA dystopian/romance heroine: My name is Lena, short for Magdelana. I'm ordinary, but pretty, with bright blue eyes. I love art, music, and reading. I also have a great, but slightly weird, fashion sense. I have a unique ability that only 5% of the population has, but I hate my powers. I want to be normal. I absolutely love my parents and sibling, but I don't always agree with them. I'm just different. I'm also super athletic, even though I never excercise and rarely spend time outside, though I do love nature. People always underestimate me because I'm a girl, but I'm the best, and can do anything I want without any consequences or problems. I'm also not very good at social interactions, but we all ignore that and pretend it's everyone else's fault when I fight with them. There you go! Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. Hope I put it in the right forum thingy.

This has actually been scientifically analysed by Game Theory. You should have a look. And for my question: Why?
-
Yeah. I've heard that theory. I do wonder if the Poet he kills is Simon, though, as Sim is a big fan of poetry, and because of the bit about Kvothe killing an angel (unless a real one shows up, Sim is as close as we're gonna get). Here's some questions: You have three spades in your hand and there have been five spades played. How many spades is that? Four? Which one is more colourful, white or black? How do you show amusement without words or expressions (and yes, there is a correct answer)? If seven plus six is fifty four, why is Adolin angry? Which is the worst animal?

I have seen a few of their videos (mostly collabs with SuperCarlinBrothers and Malinda Kathleen Reese), but I'll definitely check them out, thanks! -
Infinity War Poll
Totally_Not_A_Worldhopper replied to MistbornAlpaca's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I went with 8/10. It's a fantastic movie, and one of my favourites both in the MCU and in general, but I didn't rate it higher because they're almost certianly going to turn back time somehow (and not the way I hope they're going to), and that ruins the movie a bit for me. Plus, it's not one where watching it the second time is anywhere near as fun/interesting/emotional. -
The Fantasy Book that started it all
Totally_Not_A_Worldhopper replied to Zelly's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Um.... I think I listened to the Hobbit before I could even read very well, so probably that (though I don't think I finished it). But really I've been reading books, and especially fantasy, for such a long time it's hard to tell. Harry Potter was definitely one of the most memorable early fantasy books I read, along with His Dark Materials, Knife, Inkheart, the Chronicles of Narnia, and Warrior Cats. -
Supergirl vs Kryptonite
Totally_Not_A_Worldhopper replied to Mordray's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I'm not really sure why she has this attitude, but the Arrowverse's Superman has a similar attitude. It seems to me like Supergirl got this from him at least partially.- 1 reply

Hey! I'm a bit late to this, but I found a few more (some are only in Calamity, I think), if you're still doing it - There's Amala - Unknown powers. Absence - Unknown powers, High Epic I guess you could include Calamity, though I'm not really sure if he should be included or not. Calling War - Unknown powers, High Epic Daystorm - Unknown powers, High Epic Strongtower - Unknown powers, has a power like Steelheart's, High Epic Crossmark - Unknown powers, can only be killed by 5 people shooting at her at once. Not a High Epic Dialas - Unknown powers The Creer Boys (twins, members of the Coven) - Air pressure control, pain manipulation, precognition. Also: Anything isn't Curveball's weakness, as "Anything" can't make him run out of bullets (/negate his powers) Fortuity's weakness is definitely attraction (no need for ?) Where did you get Obliteration's weakness from? I don't remember it being mentioned. I don't think Faultline has a Prime Invincibility. Sorry this is so long, and you should note that most of my information is taken from the Coppermind page on Epics (which classifies High Epics as those with Prime Invincibilities btw).

Theories for Mizzy's Power Set
Totally_Not_A_Worldhopper replied to Aon Ene's topic in The Reckoners
The Stormwind theory is interesting, and could be a possibility, but if the abilities are still something she would want, as @Sheridan_rd suggests, I do think either a technology/explosion powerset (as she enjoys working with tech, and is very good with it) or a water ability (because of her connection to the Spyro and Babilar) would make more sense. -
Do we know's Siri's actual age at the start of Warbreaker?
Totally_Not_A_Worldhopper replied to a topic in Warbreaker
Red represent passion as well as anger, so probably red. And I think when Siri (should this be in a spoiler?) kisses Susebron, her hair turns red. Black, if she's feeling nothing (represents control and calmness). I assume it would change if she was happy/scared/sad in her dream. And in regards to the discussion of the change's speed - doesn't it depend on how quickly the person's emotions change? Like when Siri gets angry very quickly, it turns red instantly or near instantly, but in Oathbringer, .... This may be completely incorrect... -
What would happen if you tell Nightblood he's evil?
Totally_Not_A_Worldhopper replied to Leyrann's topic in Warbreaker
@goody153 is right. When she carries Nightblood briefly near the end of the book, Vivenna says something to Nightblood that implies (strongly) that he's evil and he says something like "I'm not evil. I destroy evil". So, he wouldn't believe you but also wouldn't really care.
