(I haven't finished Oathbringer yet. So no spoilers for the last like 20 chapters or so) Not sure if this actually counts as a spoiler, but when Taravangian talks about how Renarin's importance wasn't predicted by the Diagram (or something like that), do you think there is any particular importance to that? Is it related to the Truthwatcher's surges? If this is explained later on in Oathbringer, please say and NO spoilers!

1. I read the Rithmatist and then Elantris and Warbreaker. The last two really got me hooked because Cosmere and Hoid... 2. The plot twists are amazing - I'm pretty good at guessing them normally, but only ever guessed one of his. 3. SA. 4. 8/9 5. 10. 6. Second author I joined a fan forum for, and I still can't understand how he writes so many different styles of book.

I always start people out with Warbreaker or Stormlight Archive. But the best idea is probably to start with a non-Cosmere book (I recommend Reckoners), they tend to be easier to understand for new people.

Impressive amount of posts here, so sorry if it's already been said but: When you spend 3 hours trying to explain the Cosmere to a friend in an attempt to make them read it, but end up spoiling everything instead.... The friend I did this to was fine with reading the series anyway until I mentioned that Oathbringer has like 150 chapters.

I always thought he was referring to Roshar, or maybe the Radiants, but I can definitely see that and I think it would be a very cool possibility. (Sorry if you wanted a definitive answer, I'm not good at those).

Epic Name: Valkyrie Primary Power: Can remove peoples morals and restrictions. Secondary Power: Can partially transform into a bird. Tertiary Powers: Cannot be poisoned. Can control any birds within a Metre of her. Weakness: Spiders (but only if she can see them). Brand of Evil: Uses incredibly strict laws where every punishment is death and sometimes messes with people's minds just so they get killed for breaking the law. Thinks Ancient Greek and Norse myths are real, claims to be able to communicate with the Gods. Has an old-fashioned court and generally don't care about anything but power and amusing herself. Costume: Dark blue shirt with holes for wings in the back. Black trousers and boots. Dark grey cape and a silver circlet. Carries daggers. Other Facts: Early 20s during her reign and eventually gets overthrown, but survives. Knows the weaknesses of several other powerful Epics "just in case". Can feel the pain of a bird under her control if it gets hurt. Has one of the most technologically advanced cities in the country, but does not allow any sort of machine in her presence.

Definitely agree with everyone saying Steris, and I'm a big Sigzil fan too... But my favourites have to be Pattern and Axies.

Don't tell me either. I'm in Chapter 122...

Any characters you particularly relate to or just can't stand? Write them here! (I've seen lots of other topics like this, but they all seem to have gotten sidetracked) My most relatable character has to be Elend, my fave is Renarin and I really can't stand Shallan... (Sorry)

In my head, the announcer was Hoid. I can just imagine him insulting people as they fight and generally being hilarious.

Since people keep talking about Harry Potter, what do you think Neville and Draco would be? (I see Neville as Windrunner or possibly Skybreaker. But I haven't got a clue for Draco ...)
