So, which Order(s) don't have squires?
The Ryshadium replied to Isilel's topic in Stormlight Archive
Looking at the excel sheet that was just posted that reveals the "correct" values for the quiz, Elsecallers have a value of 100 for the lone wolf question. Truthwatchers are second highest with 89. That may be something to consider as I'm sure Brandon's team knows the orders well. They both seem to operate independently so far. Next highest his Dustbringers with 61, but we have seen squires already as was mentioned above. Truthwatchers and Elsecallers are my guess. Edit: Windrunners and Skybreakers have values of 10 and 0 respectively making them the most wolf pack leaning of the orders. We know that both of those orders have more squires than the others. -
Switcheroo: Singers, Humans, Honor, Braize
The Ryshadium replied to Golstar's topic in Stormlight Archive
Isn't it more like Tanavast's CS became one with the Stormfather, who already existed before in a different form? -
Looks like we finally have a Dustbringer. Still no Bondsmith though. I think it makes sense that so many are Truthwatchers. We are seeking for truth all the time in these forums.

It would indeed be very interesting to see a Radiant INFJ
-
I’m biased as an INTJ Elsecaller, but I think Elsecaller is actually pretty fitting for the INTJ personality. INTJs tend to be ambitious, curious, logical, and they seek to better themselves and their knowledge of the world. I am definitely very focused on self-improvement and reaching my potential. I agree that INFJ is more difficult to classify though.

One of my favorite parts of the quiz is the part at the end that tells you that you are allowed to simply choose which order you think fits best. This is probably how it works in universe most of the time (main characters excluded). People willingly chose to join the Radiants in the past, and I think people were able to join the order that most resonated with their own beliefs. In short, if the quiz doesn't seem to fit, feel free to choose which order you want. The new information gives us a pretty good idea of each orders ideals.

theory [OB] Adolin and Shallan will not last
The Ryshadium replied to MonsterMetroid's topic in Stormlight Archive
I would personally be more interested to read about two people with issues trying to figure things out and work it out than to simply get divorced. I know that sometimes divorce is the right path for a couple. I just don't think Shallan and Adolin are at that point. I was totally on board for Shallan with Kaladin before Oathbringer, but I think Adolin understands Shallan better and is willing to be with her despite her faults. I didn't interpret it as him accepting and enabling her. He recognizes the real her as Wit does, and I'm hoping he encourages her to improve in RoW. I can't wait to see the tension and growth in their relationship. I see so much potential there, and I think it would be far less interesting for it to just end in divorce. This is all just my opinion though, and I know that others disagree. That is okay! I trust Brandon, so whatever direction he goes I'll probably be okay with in the end. -
I got Elsecaller, which fits very well with the new information. Willshaper was not far behind and Truthwatcher was pretty close too.

Radiant Order Quiz and Order Descriptions
The Ryshadium commented on Paleo's article in Brandon and Book News
I got Elsecaller! It fits really well as I really value reaching my potential. -
Following Vorin logic, any letter can be replaced with "h". Herald of Words

What do one-handed Alethi men do for a living?
The Ryshadium replied to Necessary Eagle's topic in Stormlight Archive
When I opened this thread, I thought this was the beginning of a one-armed alethi joke. -
Don't hate me for this guys.....For some reason I'm a huge fan of the idea of a Kaladin and Venli romance so I want them to be in the same group.

Unpopular Brandon Sanderson Opinions
The Ryshadium replied to not an Evil Librarian's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I've read Elantris twice and I found it extremely boring both times. The Hrathen chapters were the most boring and I don't really like him as a character. I have always felt that Elantris could easily be cut in half. I do enjoy the ending, but there is almost no excitement leading up to it. I actually gave up on this book at first which almost made me give up on Sanderson. Mistborn is what brought me back. -
Stormlight Archive Casting
The Ryshadium replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
I could see him possibly playing Renarin if we're ignoring race. I honestly can't see him playing Lopen though. I'll agree with a bunch of people here and say that I've always liked the idea of David Tennant playing Hoid. -
Mistborn Era 1 Spoilers

Oh yeah! I thought I remembered something like that but I wasn't sure.

Haha! The books.

You could probably summon them as a gauntlet or something. We know how awesome Kaladin was with the helmet-gauntlet and a Syl gauntlet would be indestructible and wouldn't drain stormlight like normal shardplate. To be honest, this sort of fighting style might only be useful to him in cases where he doesn't have/can't use that much stormlight though. .....Also, a shield would be better now that think about it. Storms!

Thank you, for this

Good point

I think it’s more likely that silver has a cosmere wide significance. Just not one that’s really obvious for people not on Threnody. Probably because most planets don’t have to defend themselves against cognitive entities.

I was thinking about the Windrunner squires and how that could definitely be spiritual adhesion and gravitation, but I discounted that theory because most of the orders had squires. I didn't consider the fact that they tend to have many squires. That makes sense. Regardless, the surges often have multiple applications and when you combine the two, you end up with something more unique. I understand the similarities. I was mostly saying that Windrunners wouldn't do the exact same things. Kaladin is not likely to speak different languages with that surge like Dalinar. Spiritual division sounds like splintering investiture. That would be terrifying....

Then there are people like me who read Mistborn first and loved it, but still prefer Stormlight.
