  1. Ishnah is probably the Ghostbloods spy. We know she was super eager to join them in Oathbringer, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she went behind Shallan‘s back. Honestly, I’m surprised Shallan trusts her so much.
  2. Questioner In the last panel we talked a lot about people from different planets using magic systems on other planets, one of the things I've been thinking about, we've been thinking about, talking about Breath, and people being born with Breath, is that something specific to Nalthis or do, technically, other people on other planets have a Breath as well? Brandon Sanderson Good question and that is a Nalthian thing. Now, everyone in the cosmere to an extent has Investiture, the Nalthian Breath is part what everyone has and then a little extra, plus the ability to share it around. So a person who gives up their Breath on Nalthis is actually going below what a normal person has. But a normal person on Nalthis has more than somebody-- So if you were for instance to pick a world like Sixth of the Dusk, where there's not a Shard in residence, and you compared them to a Nalthian, Nalthian has an Investiture advantage over them. When they've given up their Breath, they have an Investiture disadvantage. Bystander So we're not Drabs? Brandon Sanderson So we're not Drabs. That's exactly it. We're not Drabs. 3. So beautiful! I completely disagree with one of the Tor commenters about Shadesmar being a boring setting. I love the color palette!
  4. I might be okay with it depending on the situation. I need more context to know if it's a bad idea or not. I would really like to know more about what happened with Ialai during the year gap. To clarify, it really depends on whether killing her will do more help or harm to the Dalinar's and the radiants' cause. I could see a situation where her death could prevent a lot of problems, but it could also cause more problems.
  5. Hopefully soon! Also, I may have overestimated how much of 7 and 8 he read. There's probably a lot he left out in his reading. We'll likely still have a lot to discuss about those chapters. I'm excited about the fabrial information for starters.
  6. They will. I was just saying it won't contain a lot of new content because we already know what happens to Kaladin.
  7. Brandon already did a reading of 7 and 8. He read Kaladin's parts and skipped over Shallan's pov.
  8. I guess we won't be getting much new content for the next two weeks. At least we have Shallan's pov.
  9. Since the German translation is always split into two books, I’m guessing the second cover will be the Shallan scene.
  10. This. Then he responds with the glorious understatement, “That’s worrisome Shallan.” (Haven’t gotten to Oathbringer on my reread yet, but I think it went something like this)
  11. I messed up and reread WoK and WoR already. Oh well.
  12. I can accept that explanation. People can sometimes develop the ability to use investiture while asleep in some ways. I wouldn't rule out the eventual possibility that someone could develop the strange ability to surgebind in their sleep though. Especially when things like the old magic are involved. I do agree that it would be very unusual.
  13. Still an example that it is possible. Nothing about Kaladin also using stormlight in his sleep? Both are examples of using investiture while asleep. I don't see any evidence that using investiture while asleep is just impossible most of the time as you claimed. Edit: also Hero of Ages
  14. I don't think that's correct. People can use allomancy in their sleep, and Kaladin definitely uses stormlight while unconscious in WoK.
  15. Jasnah's atheism is not comparable to Earth's in that way. Roshar is a place full of supernatural elements and magic. When something has always been supernatural, it becomes natural in the minds of humans. Jasnah acknowledges that the Almighty could exist. She just doesn't understand why she would need to worship him. With this mindset, her atheism is not at all idiotic. Just because there is a being with all-powerful supernatural abilities, doesn't mean she should worship them. They are no more deserving of worship than any other being or force of nature.
  16. Yeah, I'm fully expecting to see a big struggle in their relationship that will continue to worsen until Shallan accepts some truth and they work things out. I'll be angry is Brandon does Adolin dirty and destroys their relationship permanently. Adolin deserves a relationship to work out for once.
  17. I chose Ruthar, but he honestly seems too obvious. I just thought him the most likely of the options given.
  18. I really hope they don't switch to one chapter a week. 7 and 8 would be hard to get through.
  19. I'm getting so impatient for the next chapters! One more day...
  20. I have taken the quiz a few times and have gotten Elsecaller every time. I'm fine with that.
  21. I respect your opinion and can definitely see that as a possibility. However, to me it seems more likely that each personality is a remnant of the person who used to be. Each with a fraction of truth associated with them.
  22. I don't understand why people are claiming that any of the personalities are more real or fake than the others. I think each personality has both truth and lies when it comes to who Shallan really is. the Shallan personality is real. Veil is real. Radiant is real. They are aspects of the true person beneath it all. However, this is all my opinion, and I'm sure everything will be more clear when RoW comes out.
  23. There is not enough evidence that Veil is now the main personality. Veil was just the best option for the situation in this chapter.
  24. He could. He can lash fused.
  25. I think the goal was more than incapacitating Kaladin. It seemed like the fused wanted to drain his stormlight quickly.
