  1. Xino(2): Rae, Lum Lum(2): Joe, Devotary Snip(1): CadCom Elandera(1): Stink Here we are at the end of the cycle. I do agree with Joe that Lumgol's offering to 'help' CadCom determine the crab's target is relatively suspicious, so that's where I'm going to place my vote. Obviously, this means Xino will die in the tiebreak and be evil.
  2. In subsequent cycles, when there are much fewer items in the camp supply, most people won't be taking items. While there will be items added to the supply if we have two mislynches in a row, most players will be using the items they already have. This also means that many people will be saving their items such as chalk and acid, as there's a good chance they'll never get another one. Ah, that is indeed true, and a valid reason to be hesitant of the item claiming plan. As I recall from MR27, thieving goes after acid but before any other item usage, so the thief could steal most items before the target gets a chance to use them. I have no reason to assume this isn't the case for this game as well. The gun is indeed the most difficult item for a thief to get a hold of, so they'll probably be going for four of the other five. There's only one crab for now, and acid is more difficult to steal, so the thief might go for one of those. On the other hand, four cycles(unless the thief started with an item) is a long time in a game with only thirteen players, so the thief definitely doesn't have an assured win even with knowledge of where items are.
  3. A soldier murdered, and the acid spilled into the chalk supply. Surely the chalklings couldn't have done this. The corpse lacked the bite and claw marks characteristic of a chalkling attack, and the creatures were nowhere near intelligent enough to spill the acid with such precision. Perhaps it was just a saboteur, or a desperate deserter, Cacooo thought hopefully as he travelled to his bunk. They might already be gone, the threat nullified. That didn't stop him from grabbing his gun from underneath his cot, the gun that shot real bullets. It did somewhat help last game, as with only one action being available per cycle, the elim submitting the kill couldn't take any items(We still managed to kill our way through most of our six suspects before finding the one elim, though.) In this version of the game, it will be even more difficult to narrow down the killer since we don't get a list of who took what, relying on the lanterns to serve that purpose. The plan might still be plausible, especially for cycle 1. We will learn which items have been taken, which should be 12 out of the 15, 11 if the thief decides to target a random player in the hopes they started with an item. If three players claim to be going for chalk but there's still a chalk left over tomorrow, then we know that one of the three submitted the kill, lied about their action, forgot to submit an action, or was roleblocked by acid. While this by itself is not solid grounds for a lynch, it is information to keep in mind to be cross-referenced with other suspicions. In later cycles with more acid around, the possibility of being roleblocked is higher, but with lanterns floating around we would be able to tell which claimant(s) failed to receive their item. I will, for now, claim to be taking the second chalk.
  4. There is theoretically a time frame within the span of late April to early June when I would be able to participate. Even with 8-10 hours of free time a day though, I don't think I could keep up with the pace of the games. They appear to move far more quickly than any SE game.
  5. Cacooo Moreau will return, this time with gun. In fact, he carries two guns to compensate for the acid-inflicted leg injury that never fully healed. One gun is loaded with bullets to fight off the Forsaken, while the other is modified to shoot a steady stream of acid, for use against the more standard chalklings. Being the same model, the only visual difference between the two guns is that the one that still fires bullets has acid damage evident on its barrel. CaCooo worries that if he isn't careful, the acid-firing gun will show similar signs of acid damage.
  6. So the vigilante claimed to you and described their exact role description? I suppose it doesn't matter, as you've found a slightly more permanent way for me to prove my role. Perhaps after I'm dead, you can figure out what my role was referencing. I got to Pyromancer and Burnt Spaghetti, but wasn't really sure on either. For future games, I now know that roleclaiming early to random strangers can be a good idea. Good luck, eliminators!
  7. Let's put a vote on Fifth Scholar in the interests of self-preservation and testing role claims. Despite the narrowing of the lynch, it still looks like I could die. Devotary (6/7): Rand(Rand), Aman, CadCom, xinoehp512, Kidpen, RaeFifth (6): Fifth, Sapphire Elephant, Maill, Elandera, Steel, DevotaryRand (2): Bard, LumgolCadCom (1): I think I am hereAlv (1): Araris ValerianSapphire Elephant (1): Furamirionind Randuir and Xinoehp are unlikely to come back, but there are still other players who haven't voted or could change their votes. In particular, I'd like to hear from @Kidpen on what they decided regarding the workability of my plan, and @|247|-|, who has not voted despite defending me rather vocally.
  8. I didn't immediately claim because CadCom's original statement was vague and didn't even confirm that I had actually been attacked. I wasn't going to reveal my role on the basis of something a PM contact was theoretically going to do, especially as both Babaji and Vashikaran can pierce my defenses.
  9. There might very well be redirects, but it is true that I only brought up the possibility of redirects to hide my role a little longer. I've already outlasted my previous survival record for a lurcher-type role, and I'd like to see how much longer I can stay alive. I'm somewhat curious as to how many of the people currently voting for me are doing so just because it's an easy vote. @Kidpen apparently believes that my method of proving my role is infeasible, and I'd like to know whether other people believe that's the case. It's not quite as simple as Rand's plan, nor as conclusive as Fifth's plan, but I believe it has a sufficiently high chance of working that it's not worth killing off a protection role. What does everyone else think? Does anyone have a better plan? @xinoehp512 has a tendency to bandwagon when evil and abstain from lynches when good, so his motives may have been something other than pure, or perhaps he saw a credible lynch and wanted to punish me for my vote. Aman appears to be voting on me to "resolve" a 1-1 situation, but I don't see that as being the case. I am not (anymore) denying that I was attacked and survived via a self-protect, so mine and CadCom's claims are consistent. CadCom is keeping his vote in place until he comes to a conclusion about my plan to prove my role while Rand has probably gone to bed and will use me to demonstrate his own role. For me, the thing that sticks out most this cycle is how quick you were to claim that lynching you would be largely futile in response to a single vote by someone who was already antagonistic towards you. I can see this as either a spambot desperate not to lose another member or an eliminator who wants to prove their role any way they can, and in both cases lynching you would be helpful. With your flat extra life and (presumably) only one full time vigilante, it makes more sense to test you with the lynch and me with the kill than vice versa.
  10. As CadCom says, my current proposed plan is definitely plausible, as there's a vigilante around and night roles that can target other players. Whether these roles decide it's useful to go through with the plan depends on their own inclinations, and whether I survive the lynch. From CadCom's statements and the fact that nobody has explicitly counterclaimed them, I'm fairly confident that he did indeed try to kill me last night. As I don't see a reason for a spammer given a vigilante role to kill me, I would say CadCom is an eliminator. Rand can apparently prove his role by keeping his vote on me, so I'm fine with that. I see he didn't vote at all Day 1, which would have provided a good opportunity to prove his role by voting for someone random, but we can afford an extra cycle to confirm. Fifth apparently feels differently than me about roleclaiming in response to votes. A double life is not the best choice of convert, but immediately claiming could still be risky. I have seen Fifth vote for himself as a villager. I don't believe he's ever started the game evil, so data is limited as to whether he would do such a thing if he was evil. Alv hasn't done too much other than repeatedly tying the vote between Road and HH. I could see him doing that regardless of alignment, so I'd like to see more from him before committing to that vote. For now, I can take my vote off of Xinoehp, since it isn't doing any good there. I may vote for Alv or Fifth later in the day, but I'll see if better options come up. My role is called firewall expert.
  11. I am not the type of player who would immediately role claim upon a single vote being cast, even if I'd survived due to an extra life. If you really want me to claim a protection role, I can. If you see a better way for me to prove I'm not Beirst, I'm happy to move my vote to a more deliberative target.
  12. I've had to spend most of my free time doing puzzle hunt, so I've mostly only had time to view the thread. Now that it's over, I will hopefully have more time to respond. A one use kill action, and you decided to use it night one to kill me. A one-time vigilante and a full time vigilante does make more sense than two vigilantes, though that presumes the circumstances under which you received your kill role cannot be replicated. I don't have time to respond more thoroughly now, but I am not Beirst, which can easily be proven by having an action successfully target me. I think the easiest way is for a vote manipulator to alter my vote for Xinoehp.
  13. Once again, I am surprised by the sheer number of posts only to find extensive discussion of gods. Crimsn's theological opinions must be kept secret, for fear that her true identity be discovered. I suppose that means someone told you they would attack me? Three attacks in one night would mean that Babaji exists and the spammers used their double kill already, or there are two eliminator vigilantes. Multiple kill roles are rare, but possible I suppose. I don't see the spammers attempting to kill two of Jon, Road, and I, so if the former possibility is true there would have to be some major redirection. The redirection possibilities mean it's entirely possible there were only two attacks last night.
  14. Now things are really exciting. Do I even want to face Alv's wrath by breaking the tie? I wield no extendable bodies to sacrifice to the Shadows. Perhaps his anger can be assuaged by sacrificing some animal crackers to the Gods myself. And ninja'd(is it still called that if I go back and edit my post?) by Elephant again, who has changed their vote back to Roadwalker. This seems like a prime opportunity for Alvron to create yet another tie by repeatedly shifting his vote. I've decided to avoid that by casting my own vote, at which point we'll obviously have Fura come in and vote for the other player to create Yet More Ties. Perhaps if I appease Fura by bolding my vote for Roadwalker, we can avoid that.
  15. Yet another tie in the last hours of the cycle. Why have I been given yet another opportunity to break a tie, just like LG52? Will I be able to avenge my excellent decision to lynch the one villager instead of the another village? How long will I be cursed with the bloodthirsty tendencies of Somne? First, a tied lynch results in a random death. Second, I don't really know what reklawdaoR is hoping to achieve by staying inactive, as many of the early votes specified that they might be removed upon an appearance. While a role that prevents the user from speaking in thread is marginally plausible, I just don't see the point of a role that does that and prevents them from responding to PMs(or at least I haven't received a response, if someone else has received a PM it's likely a good idea to bring that up). Time for some plagiarism: (3) reklawdaoR: Elandera, ITIAH, Metabardnition, (1) High Priest of Lord Tekiel: Furamirionind, (1) A Joe In The Bush: Jondesu, (1) Gammalv Fiend: Araris Valerian, (1) ITIAH: Cadmium Compounder, (1) NotASteelClone: Seventh Saint, (1) Aranduensis: Mailliw772, (5) Guest103492: HPoLT, tiny wilson, NotASteelClone, Gammalv Fiend Looking at the votes in the latter half of the cycle where I was supposed to be paying attention, we get the interesting pattern where votes for HPoLT are replaced with votes for people who voted for HPoLT. Maill772, Clone?Steel, Guest, but not Fura, seemed to have been voted for largely because they had voted for HPoLT. When the votes for HPoLT disappeared, the votes concentrated on Guest out of the four possible targets. So would it make sense for reklawdaoR to be evil and the vote swing to HPoLT to be malicious in nature? What about the swing to Guest? At most one of those can be spam, as completely different people were involved. If reklawdaoR is evil and HPoLT was targeted in an attempt to save him, it would mean that the spammers gave up on the lynch, folding at the first sign of resistance. That doesn't seem too likely. A second alternative, that some of the recent votes from tiny wilson, NotASteelClone, and Gammalv Fiend are an attempt to save a teammate, is more plausible, though fairly risky. Is potentially saving a teammate worth linking a significant portion of the team together? Perhaps to save the conversion role it would be. On the other side, with reklawdaoR being an eliminator, Steel being on part of both lynch swings makes me assign a low-ish probability to the possibility of HPoLT being evil and Guest being good. It's not entirely impossible though, especially as I don't believe all three late voters for Guest are evil in any scenario. If reklawdaoR and HPoLT are both good, and the vote swings were just eliminators hating counterproductive roleplay more than inactivity, what are the chances that Guest was correctly identified as a spammer? I do agree that it is odd for Guest to be so invested in their persona that they let it affect their voting habits. Was this short lived vote worse than some of the other RP based votes? Unlike with reklawdaoR, Guest is active enough that we might be able to get an answer. @Guest103492, it would (likely) be appreciated if you separated your character from your actual more serious discussion, assuming you survive this lynch. And... before I can vote Elephant decides to break the tie for me. This makes it less likely that the shift to Guest is a spammer ploy to save reklawdaoR. Time for some minor re-evaluation.
  16. There have been a lot of posts, but not a whole lot has actually happened since I left. Elephant and their associated real account have been confirmed good, though the more interesting thing about that is Fura's suspicion of Elephant being refuted by Gammalv, Ada, and Aran, which I believe does improve my opinion on Fura. I can look more at the vote patterns later, and see if everyone's shown up by then. reklawdaoR(2): Elandera, Elephant Gammalv Fiend(1): Araris May I suggest The Only Joe(1): Jondesu, High Priest of Lord Tekiel(1): Maiiliw772
  17. Safely hidden behind her dustbringer mask, nobody would be able to tell that Crimsn was secretly a wolf. Even Fura's sheep were unaware of the predator in their midst. Those very, very tasty sheep. Crimsn suppressed a drool. She couldn't blow her cover by killing sheep just yet. Perhaps eating hamsters would sate her appetite for now. Later, perhaps, there would be sheep for supper. Even at best, we can't hard-clear anyone unless we lynch Babaji day one or at some point kill a convert. Since there's a very good chance that someone using an ability not available to the known spammers is a village eliminator, if it is legal to swap role-names, that may still be useful. Since Elephant mentioned the Keto diet, and there's someone signed up as Keto CadCom, I'm pretty sure Elephant is CadCom. @Sapphire Elephant, are you allowed to confirm?
  18. Aha, my clever disguise shall surely fool the spambots. They'll never connect my new identity to that poor Devotary who fell victim to ransomware, nor will they be able to pierce my seamless mask to behold my true lupine features.
  19. While they are commonly ensured, they can cause a lot of pain for you. Among those indications are superfluous thirst, deterrent, shortcoming, and reduced physical execution. `87288`5$^8989 Hello? Help! It's me, Crimsn Chanarach. Dark terris magicks coming to a location near you. http://www.childrenofthecloud.corn I'm here, but my account is being
  20. So if a villager disguises themselves as Alcatraz, if the elims target Alcatraz with the kill both Alcatraz and the villager will die even if Bastille protects Alcatraz? So the new Shaper's lens shows most players, including the Dark Oculator and any roleless librarians, as Oculators, the Smedries as such, Bastille as a Knight, and reveals the Shattered Lens and a potential Scrivener as their respective roles? The new Windstormer edit seems to work, and I believe it should require an action to allow the player to choose when they use it. Thematically, I think the disguiser's lenses should only alter the scans of the tracker's lens and possibly the oculator's lens, if anything.
  21. @Elandera What actions specifically do the Windstormer's lenses block? Even if they can be removed with Voidstormer's lenses and Alcatraz's breaking ability, I'd still say the general invincibility is a bit too powerful to have in the hands of a provable safe role. Perhaps make it such that the owner has to submit an action to use the lens? Can the disguiser's lens be used for a double-protect, where the person targeted by the disguiser is protected, ensuring that neither of them can die? Having two shaper's lenses floating around from Aydee's ability combined with four confirmed safe roles, two of which(Alcatraz and Aydee) can easily prove themselves without too much fear of death, will make this game quite difficult for the elims. Maybe have a usage limitation for the shaper's lens, or have some elims that scan as village. For the elims, you could include the other groups of librarians. Warden of the Standard scans as a villager, Order of the Shattered Lens can choose a certain number of times to destroy the lenses of the elim kill, Scrivener's Bones are not oculators but can forge new lenses for themselves from the blood of oculators, or other thematic abilities. The game will likely not have enough players to fit elims from all four factions and still have roleless elims though.
  22. PM'ng seemed to be a lot less valuable than passing items to the player with the backpack for hoarding. We never found out what the backpack was for, and despite having codes for our bodyhopping target, we didn't use them enough to know where our members were, to the point that I attempted to hop into a body inhabited by one of my faction members. This would have been even worse if we'd had more than two successful bodyhops the entire game. Ah well. @Steeldancer, am I missing the list of items each body actually had to start the game? I can't tell from the master spreadsheet, and the rule set only gives the percent chance of having each item. Playtime was over, and Somne was excited for the next city trip. This one had been unproductive; too many poltergeists in one place ruined the fun. The other spirits always wanted to play competitively and focused on stealing the puppet's possessions. Somne didn't see the point. What use was an item that didn't help kill the puppets? Mouse, Dragonfly, Gecko, Elephant, Penguin, they'd all died in such lovely ways when Somne had stabbed them with the taxi driver's knife, one of the few useful items to be found. That had been the true goal here, not hoarding material goods. Not that Somne begrudged the other spirits for assisting in ending the lives of those puppets, though with so many toys to play with one would think that they could all hunt without fighting over the same few puppets. Sometimes, Somne worried about falling into the same trap the other spirits had. The taxi driver's body had served for several days now, a testament to Somne perhaps learning the basics of driving safely, their own safety that is. Pedestrian casualties were an unavoidable, and entertaining, side effect of driving in a city where the puppets expected to be able to cross the streets and live. No body had ever lasted this long before, and Somne was perhaps growing a bit too attached. Already, Somne was reluctant to take the knife to their own throat. They decided to drive across the country in the taxi, explore a new city without the other spirits. Perhaps a crash would ensue along the way, and a new puppet could be taken over. Somne sped away from the reeling city in the bright yellow taxi, leaving a trail of bodies in their wake.
  23. With eight players left, I don't see how the game could end this cycle unless there were five elims to start with. Medallions can't have been distributed yet because iron pulling can affect where the medallions went.
