  1. This resonates with me. So I'm torn here. Also, what're the odds that e!XP names Mat as the person they blocked. Then again, JNV, Mat called XP out in the PM by name, right? Short of Mat-JNV or Mat-XP collusion, an odd coincidence has occurred. Simplest explanation is probably XP failed to kill Mat and kept their attention on him because I like him as an NK choice. Good news is it's probably 2e:6v. Assuming two villagers die today, we're looking at 2e:4v, followed by 1e:3v which is exlo unless the NK is blocked or the elim is inactive. That's hopefully winnable, but honestly unless some clears make it through to that round I'll be tossing darts. Edit: Attention, kill role! Mat and XP have a strong incentive to kill each other tonight, should they wield the NK, so maybe, don't? Up to you, but remember we've a 50% chance of getting a lock villager out of this, which is a fabulous asset at exlo
  2. Good point. The existence of an alignment scanner just has me spooked. The nice thing is the only reason either of you have to lie dichotomously is at least one of you is evil. So we're agreed Mat and Experience are our only options today, I hope. And killing either is better than a tie, so let's pad the margins on our consensus pick.
  3. Hm. Well I've narrowed it down to two options. :P. Little worried about Mat being on a three person elim team since they thought there was nine players. That'd make this exlo. JNV, can you corroborate and give flavor about what was said and when?
  4. @The Unknown Novel would the writeup distinguish between a blocked kill and a NK that just wasn't submitted? Is it possible Xino was hit by the NK? Anyone want to claim a block? Aw scud. That was an alignment scanner. Big implications for the distro. Kinda wish Xino had mentioned that. Today isn't actually exlo. It would have been without the presumed block, so free village cred to whoever claims to have done it. I'll once again mention my suspicions of Mat. It felt like they were focussed on directing the kill, which an elim looking at a one vote margin for the exe might be concerned by.
  5. Okay with the Tani exe because of the pre-planned elim claim? I'm reading XP as village because of their casual attitude. my first thought was VC sus Xino Mat seems the most concerned about wagonomics right now
  6. Why though. I can see you going with it because one inactive is the same as another and this adds pressure, but I honestly expected you to vote for me. thanks for doing VCs btw now is this revenge for the initial vote or did you weigh my actions as more suspicious than Xino's? No vote manip? Oop. Checking the rules we have a Coinshot, Bodyguard, Alignment Scanner, PM Blocker, Roleblocker, and Scan Who Visits A Player, and Scan Who A Player Visited roles available. Again, lots of firepower you should definitely use. Flavor-wise, I'd say Dakhor wouldn't be considered Elantrians, but I'll defer to the GM's eventual ruling. Roleplay time. In a world of crooked cops, one officer finally rises above the corruption that has let crime go unpunished for too long in Elantris. Watch the true story of the first Elantrian cop to dare give a well-connected law breaker a parking ticket. This summer, watch... Fining Dori!
  7. Do dead Dakhor count towards this number? I read this as the guarantee there's a minimum of four roles in play on the village side. It's worse than that. Ties mean no one dies, so a 2-2 without village vote manip results in just the NK and an elim win. I can't see a 3 elim team happening when 2 elims can already win in two rounds. Lowkey assuming a villager with a kill role or vote manip now That is far too early a read to make imo. Told myself if you switched, you were more likely evil than if you held your ground. Xino XP Counter argument, 6-2, 5-2, 4-2, 2-2 gives us more time to use our plentiful elim disrupting roles what if there's 3 elims and e!Mat assumed nine because of it
  8. it'd be a shame if someone were to make it an eight player game
  9. Hey Xino, would be willing to move to Experience with me? I know PMs are open, but I don't imagine we'll use them much in a game this small. We'll likely struggle to fill the thread enough as is. General FYIs: Ties result in no one dying, the Dakhor might (probably) have roles this game, and there's a lot of roles that can give the elims a headache. Hopefully there's less of those and only two elims, but please please use your roleblock, heal, alignment scan etc every round anyway. The downside of role claiming is the Dakhor can absorb their victim's role. The upside is with inactivity clears and a distro with a high number of provable roles/ones that mess with the elims, it's really easy to weed down who used their action to submit the NK. But be warned, I put a lot of effort into telling TUN not to make the game mechanically solvable like that, so it's probbbbable that they were trolly or basic enough to prevent easy outs.
  10. FINALLY!!! woot woot Voting for @Experience but don't wanna write the color code right now HYPE

Love the fine details on this. Good work
  12. "Excuse mee, I repreesent the Universal Postal Seervices Union. Deelivering invitations falls within our purview, kindly ceease and deesist." Nameless was confused. "Why do you-" "Beecause we're the Postal Seervice. We must have more leetters than anyone eelse."
  13. good luck, don't die unless it's part of a gambit >:)
  14. TIL that my dad tried to teach his childhood dog to swim by throwing it into the pond.
It immediately sank and had to be fished out.
Turns out the dog had yet to be taught a more fundamental lesson, which was to not, over the course of its lifetime to date, consume several pounds of gravel from the driveway.

  15. really hoping their personality plays into a nay sayer joke In as Dori! (emphasis required)
  16. I prefer merged but unlocked. But realistically, the only time I want to casually quote posts is the round after they're made, so I actually like it when the mods are slow to merge the most recent thread into the big collection because that's usually the one I'm looking for. Ideal scenario would probably be thread locks at the appointed time, thread is unlocked for the GM to post a comment about the cycle being over and it stays like that for the 24/48 hours until the current round ends, at which point its merged. But this is not a priority issue for me. :P. Next time we're e-e I'll repay the favor and flip the script by making sure the elims off you :P.
  17. okay who has an LG prepared that's very elim friendly The current LG list is @|TJ| (sorry I've pinged you a lot recently :P.), Ashbringer, who I'll assume won't be running this one, @Elbereth and Wilson, then @Kasimir. Currently working through the rules approval process with TUN. It seems likely that one will be approved in the next couple days, so if we don't hear from the people ahead of them in line by then, that'll be what gets run for the QF. @Fifth Scholar @Szeth_Pancakes @Lotus @xinoehp512
  18. Oof. Good game, village. -I appreciate y'all thinking I had a genius master plan cooked up with e!Aman but really I just picked an unnecessary fight and didn't properly defend my side of it. Would have liked to have had JNV's backup on that one to confirm my assertions that Aman genuinely did have some suspicious comments (by my D1 standards anyway), but it was on me to realize he wasn't on to do that. I apologize for my timing. -That shouldn't have killed me though. Having two teammates not vote and the third accidentally bus me was why that exe ended on me, and that shows an elim team failure to properly prepare for EoD. As Illwei alluded to, ensuring an elim team composition involves people who are on (near rollover) is important for balance. -I think the distribution of elims among the docs being predictable also contributed to our downfall. -Otherwise, you can't really plan for Illwei's elim slip or the votes moving suddenly at D3 EoD to the peripheral candidates, so I don't think my team did as badly as the results make it look. I enjoyed playing (briefly) with you three. :D. -Speaking of unpredictability, if you're going to vote at the last second, I strongly advise posting with at least a 15 second buffer time before the top of the hour. You know who you are. :P. -One plot twist I was happy with was the light on roles distro. I appreciate you mixing it up, Ashbringer. -I think image-only playstyles reduce the game's solvability so much that they shouldn't count as contributions in the eyes of the activity filter. -I also think that if you have a meta problem like Kas did with Stick subbing in, you shouldn't discuss it in thread until it is resolved. The advice given to both players should have been not to talk until the IM ruled how to proceed. It was a mistake for Kas to provide details instead of having the GM give the update, because his talk of maybe needing to be filter killed could have impacted people's read of them. Thanks for running this, GMs, IM!
  19. List is now Fifth, Szeth, @Lotus, @xinoehp512, TUN. TUN, do we have a ruleset from you yet?
  20. This has been done. When you get a ruleset together, feel free to make a group PM of the mods and committee found in the first post of this thread. Either a Google doc link we can comment on or a text post of the rules will do, just don't discuss the actual distribution you plan on using.
  21. Gonna quote TJ's last QF GMing post and hope it's still accurate. Say, TJ, looks like you're first on the list anyway. :P. @Illwei passed last time, so I'll assume next on deck after TJ would be @Fifth Scholar. Edit: Illwei has passed. TJ has passed @Szeth_Pancakes
  22. got it in the end, Mat :P. --I think we got too bogged down in looking for bussers. Striker kill shouldn't have happened --But... I think we lost two exe coinflips to get to this point as a village. So nobody be too hard on themselves! --Orlok used math in our PM, so it remains a valid elim tell. It physically hurt to watch that discussion about Orlock being the only suspicious person on who could have NKed me go nowhere (even if it was actually wrong). By the way, congratulations to Orlocke, Bort, Araris, and Aman, y'all played very well. --I'd love to hear everyone's honest Fang philosophy. I was assuming the elims would hope it doesn't trigger in the near term and never vote for it, but would generally claim to have if it did activate. I figured then it only takes a few villagers who are inactive/forgetful/against it to make it so it doesn't happen C1. But I expected it to be close, within one or two of half if it didn't get activated. Which would then mean it'd be hard to fake claim having voted for the Fang. Anyway, I'm curious what y'all really thought about its activation --You should always continue using group PMs even after someone in there has died - especially after someone in there has died - because I want to see your conversations :D. --Curious what people think about the elims potentially skipping an NK to get to 2v:1e instead of 1v:1e. Reminds me of the last QF, where me not voting would have guaranteed a coinflip round instead of a certain win or loss. Is that gamethrowing? Is that smart strategy? Thanks for running this, GM, IM. I enjoyed it
  23. I'll add that if XP were intentionally baiting reactions, their plan might have been foiled by the presence of an elim mole in the doc where they theoretically discussed their plan beforehand. So their execution wouldn't really matter because you're looking for elims that did a bad job of feigning surprise while also towing the line of being suspicious of the gambit a little bit. EDIT: execution as in how well they did pulled it off *waves in Canadian* HI!! If I live through today we need to talk about your hockey preferences. Unless you're a habs fan, in which case I don't wanna hear it :P. what if the elims kill the forgers when they claim? I'm pretty sure SE is over two-thirds male, depending on the game. Thank you for reducing the skew. :D. I'd argue it's worth the follow up in that case because due diligence Ignore everything I said about Thaid. RP is not suspicious and I was just making up a reason to try and make them think they'd slipped up so they'd go on the defensive. Well that puts me a tough position. Would you be willing to go back to XP if I do? I'm leaning towards Aman-XP based on their interactions so far.
