  1. Why is Scadrial basically a copy of Yolen, which shows a lot more Preservation than Ruin, If Ruin had a say in the making of Scadrial?
  2. There is a WoB somewhere that says that you can steal an from a spren with a hemalurgic spike, so could they have done this as a Kandra blessing by stealing something from a voidspren, and used that to make kandra voidbringers? not sure how well this would work. going to search for it now... edit: here it is! also, since it the spikes would be from a Voidspren, and not a human, I think it would be a new species. for its name, I propose Voidwraith
  3. ok, I think I see what you are saying: that because Atium is still an allomanitc metal, and therefore related to allomancy, still is related to sixteen? makes sense. and that it being at the center just guesswork, that is true, I did guess, but it was an educated guess: Preservation knew that metal made things hard to see for shards, (he hid the atium in the kandra homeland, because there was a lot of metal in the soil and rock in the surrounding area) and there is a lot more metal at the core of a planet than there was around the kandra homeland, so it would be a very good hiding place, so where better to put a weapon of mass destruction, so that it would remain hidden, and not be used, which is just what Preservation wants, to keep anyone from ruining anything with it. (Still mostly guesswork, but it had some logic behind it.)
  4. oh, sorry. forgot to look at the dates.
  5. It's Probably Lightsong's drunk monkey.
  6. Where I think he buried it was at the center of Scadrial, because it would be hard for even a Shard to get to it, because of all that Metal in the planet's core. Also, again, I say that the calling atium being a weapon is like calling a tripwire, or a trap a weapon, as it isn't used to directly harm an opponent, it is just used to prevent them from using their full power in a fight. A fist is a weapon. A sword is a weapon. A trap is not a weapon, especially if it is just something to prevent them from using an advantage, not something that harms them. If you are still confused, picture someone laying a tripwire somewhere, and saying "I set up the weapon! Now it'll be a fair fight!" instead of saying "I set up the trap! now it'll be a fair fight." And the 1/16 of the atium and all of that, it wasn't sixteen at first, so sixteen wasn't a sign of the atium before he changed it to make it so, and why would he change it to sixteen in order to make sixteen a sign of the atium, so that he could use it? If he did that, there had to be another reason, some other source, and I think that this source is The Weapon that killed Adonalsium.
  7. I was curious if you could store Steelsight in a tinmind. I don't mean being able to use steelsight without steel or iron, I that would be like asking if you could store sight so that you could see if your eyes were closed. what I'm asking is if an ordinary coinshot could get really good at seeing things with steelsight without needing to resort to hemalurgy.
  8. Remember in BoM when MeLaan heals Marasi by eating a bit and then using that genetic code to fix up the rest of her? Could Since TenSoon knew his genetic code, could he have eaten a bunch of rotten meat or something like that, and made a "blank slate" body around Kelsier's old bones, replicating the one that used to be there, and then pulling back into another body, leaving a repaired corpse for Kelsier to go into? He probably still needed the spike because the new body was new instead of being just his old body fixed up, like harmony did. With this method, he literally could have spiked his cognitive aspect into his body. I might be wrong about what Kandra can and can't do, but from what we've seen, it might be possible (?) The reason I like this theory is that there is not a Kandra that needs to die, and Harmony would not have any problems with it. what do you guys think? would it work? or is there a flaw in my logic somewhere?
  9. are Roshar's weather systems based on the weather like here in Utah? If you don't know, we don't have hurricanes, but we have windstorms that will throw trees, they're not always that strong, but they are frequent, especially in spring and fall, and the weather is unpredictable, sometimes it will seem like we have all four seasons in one week, especially in spring and fall, when our axis tilt is relatively neutral in relation to the sun (I don't know the terminology! I hope you get what I'm saying.), just like Roshar's. (just for reference, I actually live in the same town as Brandon, so I know what the weather is like here in Utah.)
  10. I would like to see this, because if his exact wording was "he changed his suit multiple times", then that leaves coat singular, and could mean that he changed his coat in its nature, not that he changed into a different coat. On the other hand, if he said "he changes coats", or "he is wearing different coats each time", that rules out the possibility of Brandon using the English language to wiggle out of the question.
  11. sorry about that earlier post. But I'm back, ready to be proven wrong again, but I wanted to present my side in a more orderly manner, and all that. I'll probably still be wrong, but I wanted you guys to see what I meant. I also read the HOA annotations you guys mentioned (well, really, I just skimmed them, I had a limited time frame, and I really wanted to read the new chapters being posted every week.) Here it is! 1. When Preservation and Ruin created they made sixteen the number of metals in allomancy. This could have been Preservation trying to Preserve a memory of the other Shards, but if that were so, I think he would have made it just a little more obvious by which I each the sixteen allomantic metals would each have an effect that would mirror a Shard in Allomancy (because he controlled how allomancy was made, even if it wan't 100 percent, he would have found out a way to make the metals themselves or their allomantic effect correspond with a Shard) If this is actually true, I would very much like to see which metals correspond to which Shards. It seems like he was just trying to preserve a memory of the number Sixteen, which is related very closely with the Weapon that killed Adonalsium. 2. Even if I am wrong about ordinary metals corresponding to Shards directly, he still put it there as a sign of the sixteen shards and the Weapon, so if he Made the number of metals sixteen to preserve a memory of the Shattering, then it is still a sign of the Weapon 3. If what you guys are saying is true, and it is the Atium, I am still confused, although, Preservation was very careful in his plans, because he followed them through, even though he had forgotten them, so It makes sense that he knew exactly what he was going to do. But even so, Atium is not one of the original sixteen metals, so the ratio of Atium mistings was not 1 in sixteen, even if you Atium as one of the sixteen metals in Mistborn Era 1, because the other metals were unknown, (did it mention any of the Mistfallen that didn't get powers? I'm not sure, but I think I would remember that, but I also didn't remember any Mistfallen that got aluminum, duralumin, and a few others.) but even so, because even if you did, there were still two metals that were unknown, so it isn't really a ratio of one to sixteen with the atium either way. (again, I still could be wrong.) 4. The Atium cache and the Atium mistings were an advantage, an edge, not really a weapon, any more than a tripwire would be a weapon if you put it there, knowing your opponent would trip over it, leaving you able to defeat them. I didn't really see Brandon calling it a "weapon" in his annotations, but I just skimmed over it, so I could have easily missed it. 5. Also, Preservation didn't explain the how the Well worked to Kelsier, even though he could have, so he probably didn't want to. I think that if he had said "Sixteen, because it means the number of Shards of Adonalsium" it would have left Kelsier even more confused, and Preservation would have had to explain a LOT, and he didn't even seem to want to explain how the Well worked to Kelsier at first, so Preservation probably just gave him the short answer, and told him that there were sixteen metals, which he didn't know, but didn't change his perspective on the cosmere, which would have changed him, and gone against his nature of Preserving things exactly as they are. (again, I could be very much wrong. Someone please explain how I am wrong, if I am, instead of just silence until I ask if anything I said was wrong, like last time I tried to convince you guys I was right. (although, I admit that that was a very bad attempt.)
  12. oh, sorry. thanks for the mercy! (I'm really glad it didn't have anything to do with anything major, like (removed for spoiler reasons)) also, at this point, it seems like Brandon has seen all of our speculations, and is just putting red and gold all over just to mess with us. the reason I say that is because (also removed for spoiler reasons)
  13. I think that this could be true, as-correct me if I'm wrong-Feruchemy has the potential to decrease entropy. one example is the potential for a perpetual motion machine by storing weight, because you could drop an object from a height, as it increases weight, onto a spring, and suddenly decreases weight, so that it goes further up than it started, and then repeat. The opposite also works, but it would only work once, it wouldn't do it infinitely. I also think that you could also decrease entropy by storing warmth in a cold room, and tapping it in a warm room, and increase the difference between them without releasing more energy than you transferred, and therefore decreasing entropy. I think that the reverse would not increase entropy as much, or at least not as much as the first way would decrease entropy, but I have no idea, really. If someone else wants to do the math and prove me wrong, go ahead, because I would really like to find out if I am right. So, if you are just looking at entropy, Feruchemy is of Preservation, because it decreases entropy, and therefore counteracts Ruin. although this does not mean allomancy is not of Preservation, it does mean that Feruchemy is slightly more of Preservation than of Ruin. Edit: I wonder if this is related to Humans on Scadrial being more of Preservation than of Ruin? because harmony slightly is more Ruin than Preservation, the opposite of humans, does this mean that Feruchemy is of Humans?
  14. Wayne: "aha!" Marasi: "Aalcohol? Wayne: "Peanuts." Also: Wayne: "speaking of shoes, Gin, will you swap me your hat for this one?" Gin: "your Shoe? what would I do with a man's shoe?" Wayne: "wear it next time you gotta be a fellow" One more: Wayne: "How about I throw in these peanuts with the shoe?" Gin: "Those are my peanuts! from this very room!" Wayne: "But they're worth more now. On account of my being real hungry." Edit: and the rest of his quotes from that scene. they're all hilarious.
  15. what I meant is is it like blood, where it is contact with metal, you can't Push on it allomantically, but you can still store Feruchemal attributes in it?
  16. See if you can get out of him why Kelsier was unable to take up Preservation without the Ire's Orb thing if this is true. edit: does he mean that anyone is connected enough to at least one shard to be able to pick it up?
  17. do the gold spikes/metalminds in his arms count? Also, if those were Hemalurgic, then Miles had access to all three of the Metallic arts in the form of gold.
  18. OB spoiler Red and Gold pops up a lot more than I think it should if it weren't intentionally placed there by Brandon. Is it possible that it is the sign of the 17th shard in the Cosmere, or maybe another group of worldhoppers? It could also be Trell, as a combination between two shards (Odium is red, as per the Vision of the Everstorm that Kaladin sees, consuming planets. Is there a Shard that is Represented by Gold?) what do you guys think?
  19. does that mean that instead of being inert, aluminum could actually be just too heavily invested to be acted upon by allomancy (like someone's soul?)
  20. I have read all of his cosmere books, (I think. There are a lot.) Steelheart series, Alcatraz, and the Rithmatist. I think that the Mistborn books are my favorite, because of the story, and the way that the Metallic Arts interact.
  21. It's nice to be here on the site!
  22. Keeper of the Tenth Pancake! lol!
  23. Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the amount of Investiture that Nightblood drains from its holder temporarily decreases when Nightblood slices through something? if so, could someone use Nightblood entirely off of the Investiture from the matter that is gone? if not, where does the energy/matter/Investiture go? Do you guys think I should post these on the Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon?
