  1. Speed bubbles either cancel or multiply their effects in a region of overlap depending on whether they're the same type or not. And simply getting more energy wouldn't do much to achieve FTL, you need infinite energy to accelerate to the speed of light, to go faster you need to either do something weird with your mass or mess with time/space somehow.
  2. Well he likely correctly reasoned that Spook would want to be healed if he knew what damage he'd done, Marsh on the other hand might have wanted to stay as an Inquisitor either for practical purposes or just because he didn't want Sazeds help. He could probably heal himself whenever he wanted since he has Feruchemical gold.
  3. It could be relevant, ooooor Scadrial is about to be invaded by a horde of Gryffindors.
  4. I'm also disinclined to believe that Shards have different realmatic preferences.
  5. Now the real question, which one is Different and which one is Distinguishable?
  6. There are two in AoL times, before that I'm pretty sure it's just Preservation.
  7. I think the point is that the safe would become a part of the bubble and so forces applied to it should be considered from that reference frame. Although either way you would break your arm.
  8. As Kaymyth said, no you couldn't, it'd be like putting two magnets near each other in mid air then dropping them, gravity still affects them even though they have the additional attractive force, all that would happen is that they'd be stuck together while they fell.
  9. I prefer the story of the porridge that everyone thought was a brick.
  10. Would it make you feel better if I ate a dozen carrots while reciting every odd digit of Pi backwards in greek? Because I really don't know how to do that so you might want to come up with more realistic coping mechanisms.
  11. The same reason that talking to the same people didn't interrupt the balance when they were two separate Shards. We don't know that he's performing any kind of upkeep on the basin at all, indeed since he's expressed his regret at making it so fertile it seems pretty logical to conclude that he's definitely not. Ruin altered texts most of the time by messing with the heads of people making copies of them, which would fall under the same context as talking to them.
  12. Fixed for accuracy.
  13. Compared to Preservation Ruin showed it was actually pretty terrible at seeing the future, plus Elend Duralumin-burned Atium and didn't seem more noticeably inclined to ruin anything. On Atium and Lerasium, keep in mind that Atium beads would have been exposed to the mists pretty regularly with no catastrophic effects so it's not like it immediately explodes or anything.
  14. I imagine the bending light is due to the difference in the medium it's travelling through, the same reason it bends when moving from water into air.
  15. Well for his non-cosmere works I'd say a guide to Rithmatics, the in-book illustrations are great but a big book with some illustrations of famous duels would be cool. Also a guide of Epics would be awesome. (He said with no ulterior motives for using it for the Reckoners RP)
  16. Dead!Nighthound?
  17. Then again to be fair Lightwards was impossible when the first book came out But as long as we make sure he dies and never becomes memorable it's still ok.
  18. As a rule I don't think the Dalles is accepting new characters though that's up to Kobold and Twi since they might make an exception. It's a great concept my only reservations would be that we have very little knowledge about anything to do with the Knighthawk Foundry so Calamity might render the character completely implausible.
  19. "Hey at least you only have two voices in your head, try spiking yourself a few thousand more times and see how you can cope with a few dozen different personalities vying for attention."
  20. Well he has done most of the canon references and hints at the wider cosmere after finishing WoT so he did have a master to learn from, Brandon was always an amazing writer but after he worked on the WoT he just took it to a whole new level.
  21. I do love the legends, the magic and the general style of the show but I think for me the thing that always sold me was the actors. Collin and Bradley just had some amazing chemistry that totally pulled off a young Merlin/Arthur relationship could have developed, Katie McGrath was an amazing Morgana and young Mordred was super awesome.
  22. Hence 'that we know for sure' But given that the AA was only referring to Scadrial magics at all it's possible that each base metal also steals something from other magic systems, or maybe you'd need to hack it somehow first but it might still be possible. That being said it'd also take ages to find not only the correct bindpoints for other magic systems but also the correct metal so I think Atium is the safest bet for now. Although all that aside the metals that steal human traits should all work fine on other planets so turning people into Koloss wouldn't be too hard and now I'm imagining a worldhopping Allomancer with some Hemalurgic knowledge travelling to other worlds and starting Kolosspocalypses.
  23. Being a hemalurgic abomination and not a character, Voidus was perfectly fine as the gas rolled through the Alley lit by venetian blinds. "Huh. Smells like grapefruit."
  24. Because they wouldn't necessarily know her powerset and she just leveled an entire state plus most Epics don't seem to be that bothered by what other Epics do unless they're personally attacked. Unlike Obliteration she hasn't set up a pattern of behaviour where she's constantly destroying other states so they don't really have anything to worry about.
