Still Having a Bad Day? Exchange Your Rants For Hugs Here!
Voidus replied to Silverblade5's topic in General Discussion
I originally read this as 'Star wars has terrible reasons' Then Kobold mentioned being a separatist so not only is he a supervillain but one who has ties to count dooku. -

I'll chime in quickly and say I'm something akin to a communist and that once again 17th Shard is apparently the only place on the entire internet where things like this can be discussed without starting a flame war. -

I have a brain disorder, antisocial tendencies and I've been practicing my evil laugh since the age of 5. *smugly folds arms* Also, I own a cat which frequently sits in my lap when I'm on a swivel chair. -
Well either those aren't the words of founding or it's been retconned then. Particularly in light of the fact that as you mentioned no one knows anything about Hemalurgy even though plenty of people have read the Words of Founding. Might be worth asking Brandon about though.

Wow. I just realized you have a way better superhero/villain/Epic backstory than I do. I now need to find an old mentor on the verge of a breakthrough who's about to die if I want to stay in the running. -
I think he said that Khriss was the most knowledgable and that Hoid and Nahz are on about the same level.
-
I didn't know that he'd confirmed it but I think it was more the one about Nazh working for the AA author that convinced people.
-
Plus Socrates, Pascal, Descartes and basically all of my idols.
-
I imagine it's part of the same way they maintain their balance ordinarily when pushing.
-
I think someone worked it out from a few different WoBs, I don't know if we have one that directly confirms it. But yeah all the AA were written by the same person.

What really happened in Oregon. Obliteration had a meetup with Steelheart and Prof where all three decided to put their differences aside for a night and just get hammered. There were no survivors.

The same signing also revealed that Brandon is an INTJ which is the same personality type as me, so I'm feeling pretty awesome right now. I know! Stupid linear progression of time. Someone needs to invent time travel already and come back with allllllllllll of the books.

Revealed in a recent SoS signing, Tia does know what Profs weakness is, which has plenty of potential for the events of Calamity and begs the question why he didn't immediately go after Tia when he became corrupted again.
-
So I think I found out why so many of us are INTJ. From a recent signing. INTJ's shall inherit the cosmere!
-
Oh, just found something by the by: In a Shadows of Self signing. So that's gonna be interesting.

I'm sure a McMuffin or two wouldn't go astray either

Oh yea, there was a quote I found shortly after posting that I meant to include but forgot to edit my post So yeah, definitely not in the WoF.

Not from the US so we don't have quite the same reaction to the police here in Australia although I'm definitely sure there are plenty of racist officers most are just people doing their job as best they know. So from the perspective of someone who hears a lot about the problems with police in the US but isn't personally affected here's my two cents on the matter: Firstly, any kind of violent retaliation against officers is just the most extremely stupid response imaginable. The correct response to discovering that officers might be using unnecessary violence or discriminating is not to discriminate against all police officers in a violent manner. The correct way to try to handle it would be to raise the issues in a non-confrontational manner, raise questions about what causes those issues and try to minimize them, from what I've heard in some of the worst cases all that happens from violent retaliation is that the whole situation escalates, it forces police to adopt an 'us vs. them' mentality and escalate their own response which in turn just results in everyone having a horrible time. I think both sides just need to calm down, protesters need to put down the bricks they're hurling at patrol cars and cops need to put away the military-grade weapons, tanks and swat teams for a moment. And then as my father always says they should just 'eat all of their vegetables, be good to their mothers and hug it out'. -
Will it be... Revolutionary?
-
Yeah my bets were either on someone already having been replaced (So basically the governor, which I guessed a bit before the reveal but probably not as soon as I should have) or Bleeder stealing tin from someone and using that to overhear the exchange.

Wasn't it explicitly mentioned that hemalurgy wasn't mentioned in the Words? Spook was pretty annoyed about it as I recall for precisely this reason.

That one took a while for me to wrap my head around when I first heard it, the trick is to remember that the host knows what's behind each door and that obviously he's not going to show you which door has a car behind it. We then examine both potential scenarios. Scenario 1: You pick the door with the car behind it straight off the bat, this is a 1/3 chance. In this case the host can open either of the other two doors and it will reveal a goat. Scenario 2: You pick a door with a goat behind it, this is a 2/3 chance and now if the host opens another door he can only possibly open one door, he can't show you what's behind your door because it would mean that you definitely switch, he can't show you the car door because then you'd definitely switch to that, he can only possibly open the second goat door. So you have a 1/3 chance of picking the correct answer straight off but once he reveals the other incorrect answer you have a 2/3 chance of getting the car if you switch doors.

Still longer than speed, particularly at the levels Bleeder was compounding it at, a fair amount of the Investiture would have been going into compressing the trait. So does pretty much everyone? Especially if they had magical foresight to dodge any projectiles launched in their direction.
