If this carries then I also suggest adding the question: 'Hypothetically if you stole a bead of Lerasium what would you be using it for?'

Well he tried to become an Allomancer, he's obviously still interested in acquiring certain abilities, he could have tried to become something like a herald.

To be honest I think it's a pretty big break in character, used largely as an exposition device. I know that that's not really an answer but it just completely breaks her character for me. After all, why would Wax be able to know about it and the connections to TLR if a university researcher who has access to far more research can't? My other point would be that she's not an allomantic researcher, she's training to be a solicitor so it's not exactly in the right field of study, I still don't think it's a good enough justification but yeah.

No, the only thing you can store while sleeping is Wakefullness.

The well on Scadrial held Preservations power and was a Shardpool.

Pretty sure we have multiple WoB that it's a mix of Ruin and Preservation.

I wouldn't be surprised if he picked up a Spren or Seon at some point I suppose.

Blackhoof, if you don't mind I'll wait til the next Rainmaker post before posting for Cornucopia again and unless you have anything else in particular you wanted to show I'll jump to the end of rounding up all the ghouls. That way we're all in the same time more or less.

It's been a bit unpredictable of late, I logged on this morning and I'm pretty sure I was still in the 7900 range now suddenly jumped to 8022, so any help with keeping an eye on exactly when my title changes would be appreciated.

Possibly a Sliver but I doubt Hoid would be an actual Shard, he's visited every major Shardworld and I find it pretty unlikely that no one would retaliate because of that. He also wanted to get a piece of Lerasium in order to become an Allomancer, if he was an entire Shard I doubt he'd bother since the powers of an Allomancer are basically meaningless to a Shard.

First time poster who references Metronome? You my friend deserve all of the upvotes.

It's expensive but you only need a tiny amount, Wayne figured out that he can use Bendalloy and Gold so I doubt it's that big of an issue. For the other issues I don't see much problem, it seems to be at least semi-accessible knowledge so any twinborn who was researching their abilities (Which I would guess most do) would learn that it was a possibility.

That's the one yeah. Not a complete refutation I suppose since he might build the characters around the powers but still makes it much less likely.
-
I wouldn't call the actions of either setting Ruin free or keeping him imprisoned villainous or heroic, taking the power for yourself might be because you don't believe it will just solve the problem but it might also be selfish, which is not necessarily the same thing as being villainous. If someone were deliberately freeing Ruin that'd be villainous but since they thought it was just releasing the power to guide itself it's closer to heroic than anything.

Unfortunately I think there was a recent WoB that disproved this theory, which I used to think was true too. Can't remember exactly what it was but I was pretty disappointed, I'll try to dig it up. But then again I might be completely misremembering so there's still hope

"Never fear! I, Metronome the great and powerful shall deal with the-" *gets one hit* Hmmm... I might need more Epics.

Pretty sure Nightblood could just eat the Shardblade, Honorblades I'm not sure on, I don't know if they've been ranked against each other in power before.

Those numbers seem pretty insanely high tbh, I was thinking less than a hundred compounders not several thousand. But metalborn discovering their traits seems pretty common, I imagine most parents expose their kids to a cocktail of allomantic metals to see if they can burn any pretty early on. Discovering your feruchemical power is even easier since you just need to touch the metal.

Most Overrated and Most Underrated Sanderson Story
Voidus replied to Moash's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I think the opposite tbh, I never really got into warbreaker even though about half the forum lists it as their favourite book. Elantris on the other hand gets too little attention I think, the writings not as solid (Particularly the pacing) but it's got some great story and characters. -
Cornucopia post up, because who doesn't think that torturing some weird epic created creature is a good idea for a first date?

Atrophy had, somewhat rudely, declined her offer to allow him to escort her. Narrowing her eyes at his back she called another of the officers over to escort her through the battered fields. Atrophy did at least prove some usefulness by silencing one of the other officers with his power when the man was about to start babbling. That could come in handy, and he doesn't talk much. I wonder what it would take to get him in a butlers uniform. She idly imagined as they strode along, her hands occasionally brushing a plant that had been badly damaged to restore them. They finally came upon one of the creatures that was still alive, thrashing about inside of its restraints, up close it looked more like a beast than a man, mouth frothing slightly as it snarled at them. "I can see why my assistance was required. You chose the right Epic." Atrophy remarked as he deadened the limbs of the creature with little effort. Well a little confidence isn't a bad thing either. Cornucopia mused before reaching into a pocket. She pulled out a small seed, striding forward so that she was next to Atrophy she held her hand out, a tiny piece of the vine separated and gripped onto the seed tightly before springing for the creatures mouth, it wasn't large enough to cause suffocation but she doubted it would be pleasant as the vine surged forwards, moving rapidly down the creatures throat and esophagus before depositing the seed in its stomach and withdrawing back the way it came. Slow and steady does it. A small trickle of her power was all that was needed, she could feel the seed begin to sprout, roots coursing not through the soil they should be but a mix of partially digested food and human flesh that resided it the creatures belly. She was careful to avoid causing too much damage but the sudden growth should be providing a few discomforts of its own, displacing the bile in its stomach with pulpy vines and roots, if the creature had the use of its muscles still it would likely be retching. "This won't take a moment." She said, it wouldn't do for Atrophy to try to take matters into his hands quite yet. The plants growth sped now, having reached a stable size and having avoided doing too much damage. she now proceeded more recklessly. Roots twined together and dug into the soft tissue of the stomach, anchoring it and causing a few lacerations along the way. Next the vines began to grow in earnest, sprouting thorns along their length before separating into three groups. The first began to slowly climb back up the esophagus, not so smoothly as they went down the scratched and tore tissue the entire way, making their way slowly back out. The second dug down, entering the creatures intestines, ripping chunks out of the digestive tract, the creature would likely go into sepsis in a short amount of time. Cornucopia had heard that that was an incredibly painful experience but it still wasn't enough. The third and final group of vines were smaller than the others, they dove in through the gap the roots had made in the stomach lining, venturing outside before they wrapped around a group of blood vessels. They began to tighten ever so slowly, cutting off the blood supply to its lower body. "Well it should be feeling that." Cornucopia said flatly as a small tendril of green made its way out of the creatures mouth before beginning to sprout a rose bud. "There are a few more and I'd like to see how they react to pain before we try to interrogate one so you can do what you want with this one, it doesn't have long to live in any event." She said, offering the creature to Atrophy, its eyes still glaring in hatred. Hmm. It doesn't seem to feel any of the pain, that's hardly satisfying. Perhaps I should just destroy them instead, there's something to be said for that kind of instant, visceral satisfaction.

It is but Brandons said numerous times that it's kind of weird. I doubt it's really either of the two precisely.

Given that Deathwish exists doesn't that mean all women in the Oregonverse are essentially married?

Well it'd take several generations just to get a mistborn and the children of mistborn aren't always mistborn either, they'd just have the same chance as they used to pre-Ascension. So once you create your first mistborn you'd better make sure he has around 10,000 kids to ensure it keeps going. You'd need either hundreds of thousands of participants and a few dozen generations or a smaller group and exponentially larger generation numbers.
