  1. Slight correction: Spren are Splinters, not Slivers. On the question I'm not entirely sure, most magic requires certain hacks to be used off-world, Spren presumably have a pretty darn strong connection to Roshar and I'm not sure you could get them off-world without either killing them or some major magic hacks of some kind.
  2. Not unless someone in the cognitive realm conceives of the meta cognitive realm.
  3. Can I hire you to make names? That's an awesome name and naming is the one aspect of character creation I always struggle with.
  4. Well we could just take them back, DA spikes do have anti-theft teleporters after all. Besides stabbing more spikes into someone without knowing the function of their other spikes is a bad idea, tried that once on a hamster and it just exploded. Still not entirely sure why.
  5. Maybe, or maybe it does disappear, there were some conflicting WoBs on the subject. But the Shards intent influences how the power is gained, not how it is used. Allomancers gain theirs by Snapping, they need to preserve themselves in order to access their latent abilities. Hemalurgists need to ruin something to gain a spike, feruchemists presumably do something but we have no idea where feruchemy came from so it's a little hard.
  6. Yeah me too, there's a few active scenes at the moment so I don't think they're all just waiting on who's next I thought everything had just slowed a bunch. Shiny could meet her cousin finally. And together they can be barred from ever fighting female opponents.
  7. More or less accurate, though there are 16 Shards not 13, not sure if that was a typo or a mistake. Some additional information: Each world has 'perpendicularities' that allow for transfer between realms (So far we've only seen it used for transfer between the physical and cognitive) in some cases these have been known to be Shardpools (The liquid manifestation of a Shards Investiture) but we're not sure if that is the only type of perpendicularity or if it's just one. 'Worldhoppers' exist, characters who can travel between the various Shardworlds for various purposes. Perhaps the best known of these is the infamous Hoid.
  8. Only without the cool spatial and temporally distorted passages to other universes.
  9. Yeah I was waiting on something from Arsenal or Quicksilver before I posted again in the Dalles to update whats going on with the city-wide war. Introducing: What didn't happen in Salem (But we really wish it did)
  10. Sort of? It's been very, very slow of late.
  11. The Aluminum bullet strikes me as the most likely one to be referenced in book so far.
  12. I'm almost certain that there's either WoB or direct inworld text that this is true, the only reason the Vanishers used guns made of solid Aluminum is that given the wear guns go through a coating of Aluminum would be destroyed almost immediately, defeating the whole point.
  13. I like both, have I mentioned before that I suck at coming up with names? I'm fine either way, as long as responses don't get too short I'm happy to do it post by post.
  14. Story is happening in Salem.
  15. Just chiming in to say I recommend Unreal Engine over Unity, Unity locks out a lot of features unless you pay but Unreal only charges based on a royalties, which assuming you're not charging for the game means you don't need to pay anything. I do have some experience with coding in unreal but I'm a bit busy to commit to a massive project like this. Still might pop in with suggestions from time to time though.
  16. No reason he can't still have the swords, even be reasonably decent at using them, it's just the claiming that he has mastery over them all that was problematic. As I mentioned before for practical purposes he doesn't need to be a master of a weapon in order to use it effectively against opponents who are mostly completely unarmed or at most have a gun (Which doesn't do well against defending against swords however ineptly wielded they are) I really prefer it this way, keeping OOC stuff in another thread. It makes the story flow a lot better. I read a lot of light novel translations too and I always get annoyed when the translators insert stuff in the middle of the text rather than just referencing it and listing the notes at the end.
  17. It took Bioterror longer than he would have liked to smash his way out of the shadowy prison that he'd been trapped in. He'd even needed to eat some of the crumbling dark matter in order to break the rest properly, though he deposited it all outside his body as soon as he finally broke free. "Disgusting stuff." He muttered, looking around to see if the Shadow Epic was still around. Nothing. Not that he'd expected him to sit around for so long without doing anything. Coward. This was yet another reason he hated teleporters. When things got tough for them they just teleported away and you'd never know where they went. He'd need to think up a strategy for that. He heard an odd noise coming from behind and immediately whirled, senses alert and hand already reaching out, twice the size of normal to grasp at the throat of the person who was sneaking up on him. A woman, dressed and masked and standing in front of something. A wall of some kind, though it almost looked like it was made of... "Blood?" He mused as he examined it. Releasing the woman as he strode towards it. If she was the Epic who'd made this wall she was slow enough that he'd caught her with ease which meant she wasn't much of a threat. The woman greeted him as she subtly rubbed at her throat before inviting him through the blood which seemed to act as a portal. Ugh, more teleporters? Well not quite but portals are basically the same. Still, if this was a request from someone in Lucentias government he'd best comply. Concentrating hard for a moment he folded in on himself, collapsing his matter down and making it denser, but even with his powers he could only do so much, he was still far bigger than most normal people. He opted to shift most of the flesh to his back, forming a misshapen hump their which would prove useful both psychologically and as a storage area for some of his nastier tricks. "Lead the way then." He demanded with a gesture, following the woman through the dark red wall.
  18. I believe now that that we're a few weeks out of release that spoilers can be discussed in other boards with spoiler tags (I'm hesitant to give any official word I'm just going off of spoiler policy so this may be subject to change) . Though since this entire topic is a spoiler I'll move it for now anyway.
  19. I'm guessing they assumed the Seekers would all be in the compound itself rather than patrolling, in which case chalk it up to plot armour that they were right.
  20. On the subject of sword mastery while it might sound cool, in game there's really not much of a way to differentiate between someone with reasonable proficiency and a master, to show off mastery you'd need to fight other people with swords which very few characters use, the way I see this progressing in most fights is just walking up to the enemy, portals opening and closing as they absorb bullets being fired then stab the enemy who can do very little to defend themselves. Not a great deal of skill necessary.
  21. Harmony could take them over but he's not necessarily going to do that to the Southerners, he's shown he doesn't like doing it and seems content to let most Koloss and Kandra make their own decisions.
  22. It was about being far enough away that the Seekers couldn't notice them but still get one of them into the compound to help the others.
  23. Actually I believe that Nightwielders powers were somewhat explained, he doesn't actually manipulate shadows he can just control a mist-like substance that looks shadowy. On Curveball I'm also assuming that it's simple matter creation. Brandon said that an Epic who could only pull Hamburgers out of his pockets was possible so something more simple like a bullet would definitely be within the realms of possibility.
  24. Well you can have more than 3 spikes, certain Inquisitors had nearly 20 IIRC and I think the multiple-power medallions come from different people storing each of the three powers in a separate piece of Nicrosil then joining them into one Medallion. Any more and the powers start interfering.
