  1. Not as far as I can tell, as far as I'm concerned you did very right and helped revive a thread
  2. Not really, it fires a projectile not energy, energy is a power source for the mechanisms inside the gun.
  3. Given the demonstrated effects of air resistance on weight stroring individuals I believe that buoyancy is possible, though again the metalmind itself has weight and will drag you down. The equations aren't the same at all, the biomechanics of jumping are pretty insane if you want to calculate precise forces and since we have almost no information on the actual workings or any actual numbers it would be a glorified guess at a dozen different variables, all of which would compound the inaccuracy of the result into meaninglessness.
  4. Might have practical applications for medicine, something is either in a bubble or not so if you carefully position the patient inside only one bubble but a surgeon inside 5 then they'd be able to react a lot more efficiently if nothing else they could step in and out of the overlap just to assess the situation.
  5. Doesn't seem to be a problem for Wax who has arguably used a heck of a lot more weight at a time. Because strapping himself would gain him almost nothing but cost him a lot since he'd have to stop, strap himself on then unstrap himself at the destination. But arguably that was 100%, almost floating is a lot more than 80% in any case, with clothes, metalminds and such added in I'd say it was almost certainly 100%. Sort of? I mean feel free but without knowing exactly how iron works there's not much value to it, biomechanics in particular are hard enough to judge even if we did know how iron worked, without it judging things like jumping height is nigh-impossible.
  6. I'm not entirely certain that he never does actually, I believe Sazed does in WoA but even if not that's no reason to assume it's impossible, Wax might just not have much reason to be completely weightless, having a little weight is actually beneficial since if he weighed nothing the air resistance would actually make it harder to move. Physics with iron feruchemy is weird, it's not weight it stores, it's not mass either it's something more complicated, I'm not sure we even have the equations necessary to describe it, let alone the understanding of it necessary to apply those. There's also actually some debate as to whether or not strength is altered, you can't crush yourself under your weight so the strength needed to support your body increases proportionately (And the obvious corollary to this is that your strength decreases proportionately to how much you store) however Wax has said that storing allows you to be lighter on your feet so there's some contradiction.
  7. I imagine that's an issue with safely storing to that amount, as he mentioned that 100% is the theoretical maximum, you technically can but with some attributes doing so will kill you (Notably strength, speed and health)
  8. Just remember to try to discuss it in the secret history subforum or use spoiler tags when outside the subforum to talk about it, it's absolutely awesome so we don't want to spoil it for anyone.
  9. No problems Had me worried that there was a massive error in the coppermind for a minute there. But yeah, all of SA is definitely post-Shattering.
  10. Yeah, as long as it's a comment not a whole topic Secret History can be discussed outside of the subforum but please use spoiler tags when you do so as with any newly released book.
  11. Brandons assistant.
  12. That article correctly states that the Shattering is approximately 6000 years before the prelude?
  13. The new woman sat across from Bioterror and Brightdeath, all the confidence that an Epic could summon evident in her bearing. Evidently the one who had created the blood portal. "How about you first tell me how you think you performed, before I actually give your evaluation.” She asked. Bioterror scoffed loudly before Brightdeath could get a word out. "He's still living? Then that's answer enough." He said. "we performed incredibly poorly given the circumstances, Sparkles here is a teleporter with a light attribute, battling a shadowmancer or whatever they're called should have been a piece of cake. Instead our cover was blown the second we were there and I didn't even have time to kill any of the servants before they were whisked away by the teleporter." Fuming he let his anger out at his partner, refusing to admit his own shortcomings in the endeavor. Sparkles shot him a furious glare as he spoke and was about to interrupt when he began targeting her with his power, as expected she immediately vanished, appearing a short distance away but succesfully breaking his eye contact. "And every time she tried to attack that happened, she ported out of there so often she deserves a frequent flyer card for it." He said sarcastically.
  14. Can you link the specific article? That's either very wrong or you mis-read Splintering as Shattering, as in it occurs before Honor Splintered, not before Adonalsium Shattered.
  15. Energy bolts are just not understood, although arguably the same could be said for bullet generation. Shouting doesn't, anger is just the trigger for this particular power, nothing implicitly weird about that compared to all the other powers with mental triggers. Not the air but he did kill his wife through a counter I believe.
  16. Feruchemical iron affects the interaction with the Higgs field IIRC, now that's a bit beyond my physics understanding so I can't say for sure how it would react but I believe it would still allow for buoyancy, the problem is the metalmind itself needs to weigh a certain amount which would drag you down and it needs to be large enough for you to continually store all of your weight. Where did you get that 80% figure? To my knowledge there's no confirmation on the limits of feruchemy beyond that storing beyond a certain amount of certain attributes will kill you (I believe the mentioned figure was that storing your strength beyond 80% might kill you which is why I ask in case you got confused with this quote) Iron has been stored to 100% I believe and there is at the least a very heavy indication that other attributes have been as well in BoM, spcifically: BoM spoilers
  17. I figured that her illusionary powers played perfectly into his plans, she'd easily be capable of making people more afraid of him, she wouldn't be restricted to being Firefight, she could create all manner of illusionary Epics to support Steelheart and scare people.
  18. Moved to SH spoiler board, if the entire topic is a spoiler please try to keep it here in accordance with the current spoiler policy.
  19. The ammo's not the problem its the amount of energy it needs.
  20. So is that a yes to Murphy passing by Clarence?
  21. I was planning on waiting for the MEE event until a bit more time had passed but I might just go ahead and start it off. Maybe Murphy could bump into Clarence on the way for some subtle interactions (Just walking past and causing him to trip over or something rather than any real interaction) but then I'm not sure how possible that is geographically. I guess I'll go next at the museum too then, though MVs most realistic reaction to a falling museum would be to freeze it and crater the earth under her when she shifts the momentum which is already impossible since the museum landed so I guess she was just surprised and forgot she had Epic abilities. It's been a weird few days so I'm sure we can all forgive her that.
  22. Connection is very much restricted by location, hence why you have a connection to a location, the Spritual realm may not have location but Spiritual properties can. Gravitational bonds are spiritual but still tied very much to a specific location. That's exactly the problem, you're on Scadrial but your magical connection is to Nalthis, locking you out of Scadrials native Investiture.
  23. Commands may be different depending on if they're cognitively dependant and you might lose the ability to actually Awaken if you're off-world, certain WoBs at least imply that messing with your connection is necessary for a lot of magics to work off-world. You'd still have the Breaths but you might lose the ability to drain colour from your surroundings to Awaken. Or it might not work on colour anymore, it might need Stormlight, or access to the Dor, or the mists.
  24. Sel's is the hardest I believe it was mentioned that Scadrial was the easiest but they all have problems.
  25. I wouldn't mind an update actually, a couple of scenes I'm not in and the slow pace have left me mildly confused.
