So, does hemalurgy mean you can kill anyone by a stab in the heart?
Voidus replied to king of nowhere's topic in Mistborn
He's survived fire before which almost certainly would've melted goldminds. -

I mean that gravity affects you as though it were increased at the same rate as you, otherwise running at all is impossible, which is another reason wallrunning is impossible, no gravity to keep you at the right height to take your next step. Again you're pretty likely to break something, plus loading times for each page still bottleneck it somewhat. Reading would be drastically slowed because your eye speed and thinking speed would be decreased drastically, anything that involves repetitive motions like eating would be difficult because you'd strain your muscles too much. Commuting works, but only if you use public transport, if you're driving then your reflexes are decreased and you'll probably crash and die. You couldn't even really do it while watching tv, you wouldn't be able to process what you're watching fast enough. Speed is one of the most difficult traits to store. It wouldn't improve your reflexs more than if you tried to improve them using any other method, plus we have no idea how muscle development interacts with feruchemy.

Welcome to the forums! I would at this point usually offer a cookie to give you magical superpowers but you're already a compounder But they're always there if you feel like picking up another power. (and opening your soul to the unholy influence of the damned)

What is 17th Shard policy on linking other fansites?
Voidus replied to Oversleep's topic in 17th Shard Discussion
Oh of course I do, that's why I'm on at weird hours (It has nothing to do with living in a different timezone) not sure about all the others though. Chaos may correct me here but I think we're allowing those outside the subforums if they're tagged now, it was just the first couple of weeks. Entire topics about spoilers are however being kept to the subforums so there's still a fair bit to keep an eye on. -
We don't have many supervillains here to catch so being the Flash isn't really needed. As for wallrunning, sort of? Given how we've seen Steelrunning working I don't think you could run on walls at all, gravity seems to still effect you as normal as does friction. Computers don't speed up with you so passwords are out, plus you'd break the keyboard if you tried, you'd rip the pages out of the book unless you were very careful and even if you were you'd probably destroy the spine and if you were moving fast enough you'd generate enough friction to set it on fire. Plus again for all those things you need to find the time to store the speed. Want to watch a youtube video twice as fast? Spend 10 times longer being painfully slow, want to read a book in a few seconds? Spend a few weeks being late for everything and really unproductive.

Fortuity was one of the stronger precogs we know of, he could dodge bullets with ease I doubt a sword is going to be a big problem, especially since he has enhanced dexterity too. Portland is closed to Epics at the moment.

The Salem post will almost certainly guarantee he gets murdered to death pretty quickly, Salem doesn't really have a plot yet but there are some developing at the moment. Well they can always just run away but that's true not matter how skilled a swordsman you are, other than that sword does tend to beat random unarmed person.

Well to be honest with most Epics you don't need skill, either the Epic can completely ignore sword attacks or they have nothing to defend with no matter how skilled the swordsman. Timeport isn't any less effective because he's not a master of battleax techniques, most people don't carry swords they carry guns and guns don't block swords very well even if all you're doing is hacking randomly.

[Calamity Spoilers] Calamity's Consequences
Voidus replied to TwiLyghtSansSparkles's topic in Reckoners RPG
That's Dark Lord Zorblog to you! The Dark Lord Zolblog is far too wise to ever need to... Actually I think I'd rather the thoughts. I agree with you on the Weaknesses, we know that for quite a lot of Epics at least their weakness is pretty PTSD (David, Mega, Sourcefield) and for others it was still a pretty strong and reasonable fear (Steelheart, Newton) so I think we're still within the bounds of canon for the most part, the only Epic we know of who had a fear that wasn't related to anything was Edmund.- 210 replies

And a lot of those fights still come with consequences, killing a faction Epic would incur the ire of that faction.

Really I'd argue that there's no such thing as being a true master, master implies you've learned all that is possible, which is pretty much impossible. Even the best people in the world can still get better. So yeah for practical purposes I'm happy with it.

What is 17th Shard policy on linking other fansites?
Voidus replied to Oversleep's topic in 17th Shard Discussion
Well I saw them all when they were spiking me and I can tell you that that's absolutely true false because they are in fact simply all benevolent beings who suffer under the weight of responsibilities. -
My suspicion was immediately triggered because you need to have the fears to become an Epic in the first place, you can't fear your powers before you have powers.
-
Yeah I found that too, it was a good thing for Calamity's characterization that he just has these perpetual fears of absolutely everything but bad for the other Epics whose characters now sort of seem more shallow.

Voidus replied to king of nowhere's topic in Mistborn
Destroying a spike splinters the power it doesn't get rid of it. -
And you don't have to store to use them, speed feruchemy is pretty useless in our world anyway, how often do you really need to run somewhere really fast? Copper is arguably the most useful ability but even so without the extensive memorization techniques practiced by Keepers you're not going to get near as much out of it.

Given how short time bubbles last and the scarcity of their use I don't imagine it would be a big deal, it's maybe a couple of minutes a day in the bubble so that's a loss of maybe 3 minutes a day which is a loss of about a month every 50 years. You'd need to spend over an hour a day in a speed bubble for it to make a significant difference, and the amount of Bendalloy you'd need for that is pretty huge.

For me that was exactly the point, he had all of these religious based fears but instead of facing them to save another person like Megan or David he faced them to save 'humanity' as a nebulous concept and the way he is facing his fears is to conquer them by destroying every person on the planet.
