  1. He was hoarding it. But that wouldn't a problem anymore, would it? Not with Harmony being in control. However it would be hard for Sazed to monitor atium, as he has the problem of not being able to see it. Tricky, that one.
  2. That would make him... a sacrifice! I don't dare believe Brandon would sink so low as to kill him off simply to characterize Andolin. There must be a justifiable reason and, if the plot demands it, I could accept his death. Not my favorite character ever. Probably because of the lack of POV and associated insight into character, etc. But never mind.
  3. You are right in this, Writer. Brandon mentioned that becoming a Mistborn through this method was only a 'side effect' of Lerasium as an Allomantic metal. I am personally considering that perhaps atium alloys make Ferrings, but this can't be true otherwise the Lord Ruler would never allow atium into mainstream distribution, because he wanted to eradicate Keepers (unless he was unaware of this effect). And, @Turos, technically just consuming Lerasium reschedules your sDNA. Giving you a larger splice of Preservation within you, it gives you access to other outlets of Allomancy (ie, different metals, in the case of Lerasium alloys). It is similar to how Hemalurgy works. You take metal (which is charged by someone else, in this case Preservation) and ingest/stab yourself with it. Your sDNA is then overwritten (which has led people to believe Surgebinder/Mistborn isn't possible using Lerasium) as with Hemalurgy to give to access to those abilities. So technically, no possibly deadly scientific metal-working is necessary (just a rare piece of God Metal, and which considering the price of atium, a mainstream God Metals, would be extortionate).
  4. If you mean the 'betrayal' of Aleth-kind, then allow me to explain. They killed their king, who we propose they are actually fond of, in order to get him to regenerate (read the theory, this is a bit batty on its own) into the body of a Parshman and join the Parshendi ranks. This explains their fury over movement of the dead. He then (as a Parshendi) becomes one of their leaders, as in life, and then sets out to find Dalinar on the Shattered Plains. He does this, and does find him, cue the Parshendi Shardbearer in the battle for the Tower in which Sadeas betrayed him. Secondly, they have dragged all of Alethkar onto the Plains. Most of the Alethi population eventually moved to the Plains. So, in the event of a destruction, in which the parshMEN (the True Voidbringers) turn on humanity, the Parshendi (and thus Alethkar) are in a position with infinite food (thanks to Soulcasters) and on a fighting terrain that they know well (as hunters of the Chasmfiends) in order to combat the coming horde. Make sense?
  5. What instead of following around a man who is batshit scared of any assassination attempt who just so happens to be the monarch of a country that works surprisingly like an American monarchy might? Well, the fact that the follow Elhokar in any form is a bad idea, even invisible, as he still seems able to crap himself about nothing.
  6. We don't know that they even have Feruchemical properties, but to our best knowledge the must have.
  7. The only person who knows how to stop the Voidbringers dies mysteriously... Sounds like a plan.
  8. Shards can Split themselves without being shattered. See Preservation: Splice himself into all of humanity, trap Ruin in a prison (aka WoA) and create the mists themselves with the ability to Snap people. Never Shattered. (well, he was probably tired)
  9. Perhaps, if you look at that Venn Diagram I did that said spren could relate specifically to Odium, Honor and Cultivation, it might be possible to have spren of all possible combinable dispositions, ie Honor, Odium, Odium+Cultivation, etc
  10. Elend wasn't goofy Take it back now! (Jokes... he was.)
  11. Do you mean if they're already a Seer? Or are you asking which Lerasium alloy would make them into one? If the first, then it would make them additionally whatever alloy it is. For example, Lerasium/Copper on a Seer would presumably make them both a Seer and a Smoker, but not a Mistborn. If the second, Atium/Lerasium would be needed to make a Seer misting (unless Atium is special in this regard, as it is almost any other regard).
  12. Perhaps this could be explained using a Venn Diagram? Made it myself just now. This could perhaps argue that spren are End-Neutral. But as well as magic systems, if we say that spren can be linked to one of the Shards, flowing outwards (from spren, to spren mixes, to pure spren, say) then this would imply that Syl is End-Positive, which as far as we know, is true, because she enables Kaladin to 'burn' Stormlight to achieve a palpable result as much as Vin's metals help her. Also, please reference to the Venn Diagram in any further posts related to this discussion. It took me a full five minutes hour of my ample precious time to create, after all (even if it is make-shift)!
  13. Actually, I think the second one (TwistedUberDeathGodThing) is more appropriate. SEE: Spikes sticking out of his body (Twisted) Able to stay alive for 1000 years (Uber) Kelsier's death (Death) Fearful whispering of Skaa workers (God) The spikes sticking out of his body (Thing/Summary)
  14. I can see that the fact that they are invisible is troubling, considering our supposed disposition. But 'truthspren' isn't canon, they just require truth. So they could have a whole new name that deal with the fact that they like truth to be unobscured, but that makes it seem likely that they should. EDIT: God I'm bad at spelling.
  15. That seems illogical. They are truthspren, so their Intent must always be the truth. The truth is hard, but a lie is worse, after all.
  16. Let's just propose: Mistborn/Keeper. Absolutely the best at, well, anything. I think we should all just bow down to the power that is the Three Metallic Arts.
  17. The metals got to come from somewhere, I suppose.
  18. He didn't know that the Three Hundred would come. In fact his death was pretty much part of Preservation plan because he was nuts and had control over many Hemalurgic constructs! The piece of Ruin inside of him was palpable. I'm surprised he wasn't tricked into keeping it there by Ruin so that he'd have easy access.
  19. Well that's because he was greedy using an atium Compounding trick to stay immortal for well over 1000 years.
  20. He had a hate for all things Alendi. The power, his kingdon (which he cowed into an Empire). He was in a bit of a state before he even focused his sights on Alendi! No wonder he was nuts. The man just wasn't sane.
  21. He's too darn nice. And a bit goofy. Not good with the ladies. Doesn't know what he wants to do. Actually, throughout this post I am seeing why you might think he's a villain! Geez...
  22. As in 'Push' together? Sound's good to me.
  23. But Honor is dead. Unless there is a Third Shard, its Cultivation + Remnants of Honor vs. Odium + His Voidbringers
