Which is why Odium came to Shatter them. He might have vaguely feared their combined powers, similar to that of Honor and Cultivation, through which Honor was Shattered to compensate. This implies however that Odium has a weakness.

I looked at the Ars Arcanum table, and I can't see any specific reason why Kelek's name would be used in a colloquial term for a poetry form, considering how he is Resolute/Builder, however, this is a religion. It defies science, logic and reason.

I see, by General you meant identical for all Orders, not specific. The only one they share in common, then?

Regrowth isn't necessarily the ability of the Stonewards. It has been speculated, and would surely be useful, but it isn't a given until the Stonewards are completely described in canon.

For this, I am pretty sure its certain that the only reason that Dalinar experiences these visions is as a kind of 'videolog' left by Honor before his Shattering that is activated in an individual when they portray the exact attributes Honor looks for, to warn him about the coming Desolation. This is very plausible indeed. Good catch. I will now argue it based on the attributes of the Orders. Because we believe Jasnah is in Order 5, Palah, which is also likely, then it must have access to the Transformation Surge. If Order 4, Vev, which has the attribute 'Healing' (which seems to fit the saying 'time is the best medicine') had the Surge of Time shared with Palah, then Order 5 technically has access to both Transformation and Time as its two Surges. This would fit nicely with Palah's attributes of Wise/Giving, with Wise being the careful use of this conformed Healing ability, and Giving being the emotional use of the ability to spontaneously Heal.

Sorry if this is just me, but I failed to see the distinction between a 'general' idea and a 'synergistic' ideal, because, firstly, you cannot have a single ideal that is synergistic, because in order to it to engage in 'synergy', there must be two ideals. But that's just me being picky. On a more important, second, note the use of the term 'general' implies, to me at least, that this ideal would be the sum of all their parts, i.e an Ideal that spans both the attributes Creative/Honest for Shallan, but then because, save for General, there is only two parts (the Primary and Secondary Attribute), then to me 'synergistic' ideal (a blend of Primary/Secondary) seems identical to a 'general' ideal (an aspect covering both Primary/Secondary). For me, I like the first 3 points (1.General,2.Primary,3.Secondary) however I feel that the 4th Ideal should cover the aim of their Order. For examples, to bring peace, operate logistically for the SC Orders, to defend, protect, however for most of these, they seem to fit into the original attributes, for example Order 5 (if indeed a Soulcasting Order) having a wish to operate without waste is identical to being Wise. So I really would like more suggestions to help flesh out that list you created.

Ahh sorry for my mis-quote. I was indeed remembering the entire Bavidin/Odium's Ally scenario but forgot that Bavidin wasn't proven to be Dominion. I've been away for a while, so I never heard of the confirmation of Skai-Dominion. I was just remembering speculation as to what Bavidin might be, and Dominion was the favorite back then.
-
No I believe it hasn't. Last I heard we were still operating under the assumption that Dominion's Shardholder was in existence in the same Solar System as the world of Roshar... I believe it is called Silence Divide, although I am not familiar with it. It was to my knowledge that Aona and Skai were both Shattered by Odium, and also under the assumption that Dominion, as Odium's clear ally, would not then be Shattered by him. Which leads me to believe Skai and Dominion are indeed separate.

Also, on the third point, I believe he was also cursing Preservation's complicated plan to orchestrate his own death and reinstate the full power of Preservation (including those segments given to the Mists and the Well) upon Vin's temporary caretaking of the position, so that the fully balanced forces were available in order to forge Harmony as the Hero of Ages.

High Prelan, Canton of Literature, Walking Encyclopedia of Cosmere Terms. Can I officially suggest this addition to your description?

And the 'runner' part may refer to their Gravity Surge? Then, applied to Stonewards, Stone could indicate and ability for your skin to become hard as stone, and Ward may be offering protection, which seems to fit Dalinar's two most yearned for abilities; to protect his nephew/army and to stop being so useless (his own perception caused by his stupid son Adolin's views of him as 'old').

Excellent. With the 'hair' focus however, we haven't had any viewpoints of Jasnah, and so are unaware (if her order is Palah) whether her hair is affected (itching, etc.) while she uses the Transformation Surge (or the other surge that falls under Palah). If we had a POV of her Casting, we would be able to tell if the Focus made a palpable difference during Surges.

I get behind it also, even though I've been away so long as to comment on a reopening of my previous comment... I also had a thought that lends to this theory. If, when Dalinar isn't being a Builder, he feels less Resolute (nausea, feels like he doesn't want to continue), then, have we any evidence that when Shallan has been dis-Honest, she feels less creative? This could signify a very important link between the primary and secondary attributes of the Orders. Also, when she isn't being creative (instead has dull thoughts, morning dampening, etc.) does she do disHonest things? When Dalinar isn't Resolute in what he is doing, does he do 'more harm than good' so to speak, or isn't being constructive (as I am going to take 'Builder' to mean). We could be on to something.

If Dai-Gonarthis is voidish, as the oblivion Dai-Gonarthis brings seems welcome to the one being quoted, then it seems that at least some welcome a portion of what Odium brings. This. As we have seen in Mistborn series, it is entirely possible that Odium is just a balancing, necessary force. Just with Preservation, there must come Ruin, and as comes Ruin, there must be some Preservation. However, with Ati and Leras, there were no evil intents, just hunger to fulfill their Shard's purpose. Also, there was no interference or allying outside of the Shardworld. However, in this case, it seems that Dominion has interfered, and so Honor was crushed and killed. Odium is now given free reign without either his 'make-shift' counterparts (as in, Honor and Cultivation combined in order to hold off Odium until the true counterpart has arrived, indicating that the day may be saved by this true counterpart) or his true counterpart, inferring that the only way he can be stopped is for the remnants of Honor (true counterpart) to join with Cultivation in order to represent a force strong enough (combined) to counter Odium and achieve another balance. I have the feeling this will happen with every Shard pair, until only Harmonies remain. Then Adonalsium can be reformed . I then believe Hoid's job is to ensure this takes place with as little damage to existing projects (populations, Shardworlds) while 17th Shard believe it would be best to prevent the joining and claim the powers of the Harmonized Shards (who, as we see in Sazed, have particularly more influence [as in can create, like Sazed can, instead of being blocked by your opposing shard, as Ati and Leras found]) for themselves to harness.

Well, to me, all of this makes sense, does it not? Lets use a modern day analogy. Of course, we do not have separate world to compare, but instead different civilizations/technologies. So, some genius discovers a very useful effect. Say, something like Regrowth. Suddenly, everyone on the world capable of performing this extremely useful effect is now doing it, because it does nothing but benefit the civilization. However, on a different Shardworld, with different magical systems, do you think that they would never strive for/achieve a similar ability? Any time there is a useful effect that benefits a race, when another stumbles upon it, they would of course use it! All of the most useful effects will be in place in every world, like Travel, Transformation, Regrowth. It just makes sense to me that the people would bend the magic systems in any way possible in order to stimulate these useful effects, meaning that similar effects crop up everywhere, just with different methods.

This would make most sense. So it would also explain the seeming inconsistencies of Jezerezeh, as in many languages I have studied (including English, when Nordic was replaced with Frank) some letters (such as 'j' and 'h' in Alethi) seem to share the same symbol. In Latin, 'y' and 'th' have the same letter, which is why when the French invaded England, many shop titles were changed (stereotypically) to 'Ye Olde', etc, instead of 'The Old' (because in Latin, the letter 'd' is said 'day'). Finally get to make use of my two seemingly useless qualifications... (English Literature and Language/History).

Here. In your entire post, I'm sorry I have little more to say, but most of what you say covers either ground we've been thinking about for a while, or things we're already almost sure of. However, if there are specific things you are having trouble with, just ask, here in this thread, or pop me a message. Always glad to help out. But, on to the quote in your post I selected. Firstly, the bit about Kaladin. As the body focus of Inhalation, Zephyr stands for Jezrien (I'll use Herald names, not Vorin), and so clearly is linked to at the very least the Gravity surge, which Kaladin performs most often. However, when using the 'Reverse Lashing', which may be a new Surge (of which we have no adequate name), he describes a feeling of his lungs at breaking point, and screams. This seems to stand for Exhalation, indicating that he somehow operated under the Surges of Nalan (Nr.2). Also, the Focus doesn't appear to be consumed in the action of the Surge. So Shallan describes her Blood racing (although we assume this to mean she's scared) at the time of her use of Transformation. Also, as some Surges share a body focus, it is possible that, depending on your order, you can feel one Focus or another. This was just speculation though. Hope it helped to clarify anything.

I'm sure that TLR had some knowledge of the fact that Koloss were re-using spikes while he was controlling the army, however the process of Koloss re-using spikes can be shortened when Hemalurgical decay is considered. For example: TLR makes Koloss, who he believes have a population decline (without his influence) that will mean that 2 years after no input is received they will have imploded. However, the Koloss are (presumably by Ruin) informed of the possibility of re-using spikes. This would mean that their numbers would now last six years, which is a number that Ruin would consider adequate. However, again, with Hemalurgic decay (that is the effect of energy leaking from Hemalurgic spikes while they aren't contained in living flesh) their power and effectiveness would diminish over this time, and the time they could last without TLR would now be shortened to three years. In this situation, TLR's plans of a civilization without him, including the resource chambers/depots and the possibility of Ati taking dominion over all Hemalurgic constructs, would still uphold.

I really love your second point (about the symmetry of the Vorin names of the Heralds). While most of the names aren't perfect, they're all close. Jezerezeh, Vedeledev (perfect), Shalash, Ishi, Talenelat (perfect). Also, if we start using language or structural device analysis (that's right I did a course in English Literature...) then the fact that the true names of the Heralds aren't 'perfect' as the members or ardents of Vorinism have come to believe, doesn't this raise questions about the 'pure' nature of the Heralds. Maybe they are just like normal people, I'm sure they haven't the personalities of Saints, after all, they did end the wars with the Voidbringers and their Contracts with the Dawnblades to escape the torture, however bad it was. So they must of had actual personality flaws, too.

I believe; though I am a bit rusty, that 'Soulcasters' as in the objects have nothing to do with innate ability to Soulcast. Kasbal mentions that Soulcasting (as in with the objects) is easy: And so most of us have come to the conclusion that a Soulcaster is a fabrial that facilitates Soulcasting, while Shallan and Jasnah both have the innate Surge of Transformation, in which travel to Shadesmar is necessary to activate the power of the gem, and Transform the object. However this raises the obvious problems with; is there then a fabrial that facilitates Lashings, etc. Hope it helped.

I am of the opinion that, we haven't factored in the differences from our world to that of Roshar. If Soulcasting is linked to the Cognitive, which has been said to be a go-between of the Physical and the Spiritual, and we assume that the spren of Roshar are Spiritual beings, if not some residue of Honour himself, who is more than likely to function from within the Spiritual Realm, then, surely, Soulcasting acts as a siphon within the Cognitive Realm, using the power of the Stormlight trapped in the cell (gem) to initiate active transport (where normally, naturally, particles or energy flow into the Spirit Realm ) to draw 'fire spren' as a pure Essence into the Physical Realm, and pulling the object back to the Spiritual Web. This would mean the equation (if we are going to get into this fancy stuff) would necessarily need to be balanced, meaning 80kg of spren (of which unknown quantities inhabit each cm of fire, making it possible to minute amount of fire to be produced this way), for 80kg of theif. Now, this spouts my two personal theories: 1) The gem's power/Stormlight activates the Cognitiive Aspect as a siphon, replacing (technically, swapping) object>Essence in a balanced equation. This would explain why the goblet Shallan turned into Blood pleaded with her to 'free' it back into the Spiritual Realm, as it hated the idea of being trapped in the Physical. Blood was thus drawn from the Spiritual to replace it, using the power and type (garnet) of the gem. This theory about being free in a Spiritual sense, and the Physical being a curse, has a strange Buddhist/Nirvana feel to it. 2) [science] If we instead disregard this and talk about pulling pure fire out of mid-air, perhaps the energy of the gem used (as it is clear as gem's power is necessary) dampens the power output, or 'tucks it away' with a sheet of Stormlight in the Cognitive Realm. Perhaps this is the great ball of energy that resides above the 'sea of gems' in Shadesmar. Collected energy. [/scienceyTwistedImaginationVision] That's my two-cents.

However, as Feruchemy is an End-Neutral molecule (magics, bear with me in this), it must be Pres + Ruin as Ruin is Negative, Allomancy is Positive, so to reach neutral it has to be a dual compound.

I believe it is theorized to be absorbed by your body as raw genetic transplantation. Elend doesn't seem to have the bead residual after his transformation.

But I still like this. This will lead Renarin to pick up his brother's newfound title (if Dalinar gives it to him/dies) and lead a more dominant and confident role (because Dalinar is at this point dead/indisposed).

I like this. I am going through an analysis of what I know about every Cosmere, but afterwards, I will get back to you on this with some truer feedback and/or plausible corrections.
