  1. So they form a bond with Ryshadium? For Windrunners it seems a bit useless? We have it foreshadowed with plate and lesser sprens but with a mount there was nothing so far. No Radiant, except Dalinar, is close to Ryshadium, and they are sapient enough to choose their own rider. But, from Coppermind "They are often referred to as "the third Shard" in addition to a Shardblade and Shardplate." OB ch 10. However Notum in RoW was riding on some kind of majestic spren so maybe they do bond some spren, and maybe that's only in CR to allow for easier transportation? And just a note, I would be very grateful if you also put the chapter number with the source so that it can be easily found in other language versions of the books.
  2. Not much tbf. She and Honor arrived first on Roshar, before Odium came We know she wants Nightwatcher to develop without influence of people and learn by herself. She was romantically involved with Tanavast She helped Honor with fight against Odium And was close enough to learn from Odium how to splinter Shards And currently, despite what people in world think, she is still fighting against Odium Cultivation was also briefly on planet Ashyn, and established Cultivation-based magic there That's most likely it. She came with Honor on Roshar, was involved in cultivating sprens and the planet, allowed humans from Ashyn to settle on Roshar, and later helped Honor and humanity fight with Odium. She learned how to splinter shards and is still fighting against Odium in a way, as we saw in RoW. She wants Nightwatcher to learn by herself, and made her in such a way to be un-Connected to humans and is unaffected by the way they think about her.
  3. Lesser sprens seems to have some lesser abilities related to surges. I remember Kaladin thinking that Windsprens stick things together (that was when he was slave in Tvlakv's caravan, and Syl was doing that, but it wasn't a surprise to him). But are they granting those to Radiant or they just extending the reach of Radiant by transmissing their surges? What Kaladin did was just pressure manipulation - adhesion. Windspren allowed him to precisely target it. So this tunnel Kaladin made was because of Windsprens innate abilities, or Kaladin's surges used by those Windsprens? Both possibilities seems valid to me.
  4. After Jezrien's death, his connection to Oathpact was fully broken, it would look the same with Radiant's connection to his Shardblade. You might be right, and identity would be also needed but reestablishing that connection is necessary as that's what granting surges.
  5. With sufficient training they might be able to do it. But Kaladin in OB did this with the assistance of Windsprens, creating a wall of some sort that stopped Highstorm. Windspren just extended Kaladin's reach, but I don't know if Windrunner would be able to do that on some target away from him. Using the assistance of Windsprens is more intuitive for 4th Ideal Windrunner than 3rd.
  6. Nice one. But I think this is a connection issue. Radiant's powers are granted by connection between Knight and Spren. Shallan and Testament still have remnants of their bond and connection between them. But all deadeye’s Radiants have been dead for more than 1500 years. So this connection is now fully broken, and can’t be remade with regular Shardblade connection. It isn't a Radiant connection. But Bondsmith could be able to restore that connection copying what Shallan has. I don't thnik manipulating Identity would achieve this.
  7. In RoW when Szeth confronted Ishar, during Dalinar's encounter with him. Ishar said that "Shins welcomed Unmades, Neturo was not a human anymore when Ishar took his Honorblade and killed him by Neturo's request". We also know in RoW from Dalinar that all scouts send to Shinovar disappeared, Windrunners are welcomed by arrows and there is no contact from Shinovar. Sprens in Shadesmar also mention some weirdness going on in Shinovar in RoW. However in OB there was nothing to suggest that something bad is happening there. They reported incoming Everstorm - even just before battle of Thaylen, send message to Dalinar congratulating him, and Sprens in Shadesmar didn't mention anything going on in Shinovar, just in Horneaters peeks. Even earlier in Rysn interlude (WoK), Shinovar seems doing just ok - nothing was pointing to the presence of Unmades at that time. All of this places the arrival of Unmades somewhere within one year before the beginning of RoW but after the battle of Thaylen, and only after this Ishar appeared there and reclaimed his Honorblade. I do agree it is the Stormfather we know. But I don't remember now but wasn't Odium able to end Dalinar's visions? In a more brutal way, so it still doesn't fit.
  8. Yes, there is something weird about him. There are multiple theories that it might be someone impersonating him, most notably Ishar, but others like Tanavest’s Cognitive Shadow, Nohadon, Odium, Cultivation are also mentioned. Others claim that Stormfather is just lying to Gavilar, and later changed his methods with Dalinar. If you want to read more about this, check this out:
  9. That's a Windrunner in a Shardplate, so at least 4th Ideal. The only moment we saw 3rd Ideal Windrunner doing something with pressure was Kaladin trying to stop the Highstorm in OB. And that was only around himself, not around someone else. Mistborn would just move away, and be ok. So while it's possible I don't know if 3rd Ideal Windrunner could do it, 4th for sure, 3rd hard maybe.
  10. Welcome to the Shard! Yes, it is very likely that it was Chana that broke, not Taln. In fact, we know that Taln didn't break from this WoB: We know that despite Heralds abandoning Oathpact, they are still connected to it, so it could work for them as it used to. I highly doubt that Taln would choose to let Fused go back, just to end Chana's suffering, afterall his sense of duty would be more important. But then there is also an issue of how broken his mind became, so I doubt that he did even realize that Chana returned. I highly recommend you to read the theory that was linked in the first post in this topic if you haven't read it yet. It explains a lot.
  11. Well I'm not good at memes, and there is more than 260 pages, so most likely some of them were already posted, but here are some of mine: General Brandon: Mistborn: Stormlight Archive: Warbreaker:
  12. I like the versus discussions but there is a problem with that one. We don't know what Dustbringers can do. We only know they can burn patterns on objects and turn corpses into dust. That's it. We've already had a heated argument over whether the Division can act without touch. Here is the same. We know however that the Surge of Division is blocked for them until they reached higher Oaths (Malata can use it, so at least 3rd Oath). And we also never seen Dustbringer using Abrasion, so we don't know if they can use it to the same extent as Edgedancers.
  13. The only thing I've found are those 2 WoBs, but those are about Shardblade killed bodies turned into Lifeless I don't think you are able to Awaken just a hand, as it is perceived as a part of the body, so it might be like trying to Awaken the whole body, which still mostly has a soul. However if Stormlight healing Shardblade wounds is "pushing" investiture into that cut off limb, maybe if you push your Breaths into that limb in a similar manner, they will reconnect it to your soul, or remade a part of a soul. This is a bit of an stretch as Breaths doesn’t have healing ability.
  14. There are different ways of staying alive, most common one used involved slowing down aging, but not stopping it completely, WoBs on this:
  15. It sums up my opinion on him quite well.
  16. What a surprise! I have mixed feelings about Wit. His humor is okish, I like his stories, but what intrigues me the most about him is the mystery that surrounds him. Without that mystery I don't know how much I would like him. It was fun to witness your journey with WoK. Will you read the Edgedancer novel next?
  17. This one?
  18. In the case of Hobber, Kaladin was extremely tired after the fight and was walking without the light, so when he did inhale light, it healed his exhaustion. In case of Shallan, it was from Kaladin PoV, but Shallan was exhausted after cutting steps in a wall, while trying to hide her Surgebinding abilities. From her PoV of cutting the steps, it looks like she did it without Stormlight, and had to climb down multiple times to give rest to her hands. So while holding Kal's hand she most likely inhale Stormlight, which cure her exhaustion and "strengthens" her grip. In both cases they were extremely tired, and without Stormlight, so after inhalation of Stormlight, they got rid of exhaustion, which gives only the impression of getting more strength. Being tired can seriously reduce your strength. I don't remember from books any clear indication of Stormlight adding real strength.
  19. I don't think you're right. Moash might felt guilt, but he didn't show any regret. There is a difference between feeling and showing. How many cities did Dalinar burn after Rathalas? How many people did he kill between Rathalas and visiting the Nightwatcher? None. He suffered heavy trauma because of his actions and this changed him. He stopped being that person. What did Moash do? He killed Elhokar, then Jezrien, then Roshone, then nameless Radiant, then Teft, and then almost Navani. He never stopped. He just kept going and was doing the same thing over and over again. Where did he show any remorse between all those killings? Showed, not felt! Dalinar was crying in his room, while hearing screams of those he killed, but Moash was killing more and more people. And I'm telling you this as a not-Moash-hater.
  20. Hoid collecting all invested arts gives him connection to all Shards necessary to hold them. It might be the reason why he is doing that if he wants to be Adonalsium. However I personally don't think he will remain Ado. Hoid didn't want to become a Shard during the Shattering, it would restrict him, so if he remade Ado, I think he would just give up whole power, letting it to create its own sapiency, and he would not be restricted by it.
  21. I don't think that strength comes from Stormlight, I think it's just because it heals tiredness, which gives the impression of added strength. From coppermind: But if there is some strength given by Stormlight, like A-pewter, you would be able to store it in pewtermind.
  22. Ridger, I had to check. This reminds me of a fun fact from Polish history. In 14th century Jadwiga was crowned as a King of Poland, not a Queen, because that was the title of the monarch. So the title God King could still be used, or just change it for God Queen (sounds so epic) Susebrana? And if Siri was called the Vessel, how would Ridger be called? The Seed??
  23. What Lifeless needs is to get a soul. That would fix everything. Lifeless doesn't have a soul, they have 1 Breath that just gives them enough to be Lifeless. If they would gain their soul back, I think the command imposed by 1 Breath would not be able to break through much more invested soul (investiture resist investiture), and Lifeless would just stop being Lifeless, either become Type 1, or be fully alive again like normal people. That's why I chose Identity, as it could create a soul by self-perception. Connections as well, as soul is kind if a bunch of connections to everything, nicrosil if it contains investiture that could be his soul or something like that. Gold as you mentioned as well, but that's only if Breath perceives itself disconnected from soul and would want to fix it. If you want a Lifeless to remain a Lifeless, as he follows commands etc, he can't be invested too much, because then his Breath would not be able to break through that investiture to enforce its Command. Investiture resist investitur, people can't be Awaken as they have souls, they are invested.
  24. It fits within the range of previous calculations, so I would say it's accurate. But what value of drag coefficient did you use? Did you calculate it for a rock you had?
  25. I think, because it's Hemalurgy, it will change not only your spirit but also brain and eyes. It changes your body. And that will allow blind person to see again through steelsight. Maybe not right away, but after some time, training, but they would be able to see. Inquisitors don't have eyes at all.
