  1. Mac happily obliged. on the first page of the thread, Mac had found the longest thread in existence. He then decided to add it and keep tabs on this page, as he was really excited to see it completed after the initial attempt in the intro threads was shut down. Instead of doing the responsible thing and keeping this out of story, Mac decided to break the fourth wall down, because he knew a few mimes who could repair it. They were hired by archer. He’s not really sure how the mimes repairstuff, but it’s fun to watch them mime it out.
  2. Mac also observed from the distance, decided to take an ax and destroy the fourth wall. He noted that they were on page 66, and that they needed to get to page 249 in order to beat the longest thread. This was very good progress. They were only 183 pages away. He then called @Archer to ask if he could borrow the mimes to fix the fourth wall.
  3. Why is it that everyone here still has morals? It makes life sooo difficult for the rest of us.
  4. I understand. The multiple lifetime benefits that include, but are not limited to, gold compounding, the ability to draw in stormlight, power riches, and the chance to be a part of science isn’t for every one*. You can contact us if you change your mind. *you already know what I’m going to say here, but it bears repeating. The DA disclaimer applies.
  5. The DA is always accepting test subjects.
  6. I could definitely spike him out of the GB’s. Loyalty spiking is a expertise of mine.
  7. @Mraize I need a certain archivist to be assassinated. I would do it myself, but technically I’m on a hiatus. So it’s unlikely I will have the time to get to it.
  8. @Ark1002 offer a cookie to someone isn’t eh intro threads and you are in bud.
  9. Challenge accepted. *cracks knuckles* @Mraize I know we aren’t on the best terms, but can you do me a solid?
  10. “I ACCEPT THE NOMINATION,” Mac walks into the room. Pulls a spike out and stabs the table. Then proceeds to walk out. homestly I’m not sure how much time I will be able to spend on the shard. I am kinda packed for the rest of the summer. But if you guys do elect me, I will be the best mayor, because I will be able to fix any damages I cause. Also, I won’t wantonly destroy things, because then I wouldn’t be able to rule over everyone. Like the Epics, I can’t destroy everything, and still live like a king. So by electing me you have ensured the safty of the alleyverse. Also, big guilds that have been around sense before 2015 have no taxes. Sorry if this is way too late, I was just peeking in for a few moments. Chances are I won’t be on for another couple of weeks. EDIT: yeah this was way too late. I should actually read the threads.
  11. That’s just not how investiture works.
  12. This is a cool concept. Take an electrum ring I will say that the system does invoke imagery about drugs. Based on the scene that you did share, it feels a lot like drugs, especially the meditative trance. It would really depend on the timing and how you used it during the rest of the book. Like others have said, it really depends on how it is written.
  13. I think that we have to be careful though. The reckoners didn't do big stuff like that. They tended to lay low, kill a few Epics. Then move on. Davids cell was the only ambitious one. In fact, correct me if I'm wrong, reckoners only targeted epics with PI's.
  14. I think that you have to look at this from a business perspective. What benefit do I gain from using those methods? Stealing someones soul is a crucial part of our business, an enjoyable necessary evil. Doing things worse then that wrecks our PR without any benefit, it also costs more money and resources.
  15. The GB’s will fall. This RP will eventually become inactive. There is nothing supporting them except the RP. If the RP goes inactive, then the GB’s will consist of a bunch of people claiming allegiance to a useless group.
  16. Believe me, you can get much worse then stealing someone’s soul. Much much worse. At least it is possible to regrow a soul.
  17. I can guess that the reason that we don’t have a sub forum is that our RP isn’t well Organized. This post explains the alleyverse pretty well, but i think that we could all benefit with a bit more description of this whole dynamic. There needs to be a true intro post, not just explaining the alleyverse, but a lot of the rules around it. We also need more then a couple of threads to warrant getting a sub forum.
  18. I was thinking that a family member had been killed by an epic that was their friend, but the Darkness has made the epic evil. Though now that I think about it, you are right. The only difference between the Darkness and hatred to an observer is that one is sudden and correlated with the powers. I’m not sure someone could be afraid of that specifically.
  19. Sorry if that wasen’t clear. I meant the darkness that comes when epic use their powers, the one that makes them act evil.
  20. What if an epics weakness was the darkness? Like, they could use their powers, until the darkness came. How would they push through that for redemptions?
  21. Or you could come into this dark alley. It’s a fast track to joining. I swear.
  22. At his core, The Creator is a matter manipulator. His changes are just permanent and take far longer to create then normal matter manipulators. I’m not sure what that would fall under in the PRat ratings, because I have no idea what they were.
  23. Sorry for the late reply, my phone died and I didn’t have a charger. Range is a non issue so long as he knows the molecular makeup of the object and knows where the object is. If he knows that there is a glass of water across the city, and he knows where it is, then he could change it. Yes it works in living things, theoretically. Due to their complexity and constantly changing nature, it’s unlikely he would get enough time to meditate on changing life before the life has changed enough. I believe that it said in his profile that due to the complexity of life it would take years of meditation to create life. Similar amounts of time to edit it. He would need hundreds of thousands of regular people to edit living things in seconds. If he had a plethora of biologists, it could cut down on time, he maybe could have them supply him with information. There are other ways he could kill though. If he knew basic biology, and focused on a specific area he could remove the carbon atoms in that area killing them. This would take hours instead of years.
  24. Yeah, makes sense. Though the change should be enough to consider it a different object.
