True. Now that im thinking about it, that would be an interesting concept, where people have to risk entering the alleys to get off the alleyverse.
-
Hmmm. That could work, but would the DA accept that and allow people to move harm free throughout the alleys?
-
Of course the alleys themselves would work like that, but most people on the main part of the alleyverse don’t have access to the alleys.
-
Yes he most definitely is, but really any large amount of investiture creates a perpendicularity, and I doesn’t need to be a pool. I’m thinking that there is a new perpendicularity discovered, and that it is actually a big cavern that doesn’t appear to have a ceiling. The higher you climb inside of the cavern, the more realms you see. So on the bottom, you are in the physical, in the middle, you are in the CR, and if you somehow make it to the top, you enter the SR. If you start on the bottom, and go down through a hole, you enter the Void, a space in between universes. If you manage to survive that, then you can make it to any universe. This would be how people get to and from Randland and the free kingdoms, cuz they don’t have a CR. I can post this thread later on. And I’ll provably start it with a few minor characters for some interaction if people want.

Mac walked through the cognitive realm, defeated and annoyed. He had been trying to find the way to earth for months now. And nothing was working. He knew the CR like the back of his hand, and couldn't find anyway out. What was worse, was that he was running low on supplies, and didn't have enough money to pay an elsecaller to take him back to the alleyverse's PR. This was turning out to be a mess. He had made it all the way to threnody, but the shades weren't all that interesting. Neither were the Aviar in the dromidad system. Then he had tried to find the way to earth, but it hadn't worked. Maybe if he stopped and tried to think? No, if he stopped moving he was dead. He barely slept anymore because of the memories. Storm Mac and what he did. I used to be a kind guy, but now whenever I see a person I nearly run away in fear that they will spike me. And now I'm running low on supplies, Gah, what am I going to do? Then, without warning, one of the Abominations that resided in this area screeched and flew toward Mack. "Gah!" Mack, turned and tripped on a rock. Usually, he could handle them, but with out his Aonic weaponry, he was almost screwed. That stuff didn't work inside of the CR. Thankfully he still had his shard blade and Iceblade from Queen Elsa, and he also had Mac's blade, but he didn't know anything about that one, so he wasn't going to touch it. Rolling across the ground, he dodged the abomination's first sweep. He stood up and summoned the iceblade. He shot ice out of the end of it, right into the wing of the abomination. With a screech, it fell to the ground, collapsing due to the weight of the block of ice on its wing. Mack, walked over to finish it off. Standing over it though, he didn't notice its clawed leg creeping out behind him. Right before Mack swung the blade, the leg swiped out, cutting him across the leg, and throwing him backward. The abomination turned to breaking the ice off, while Mack tried to stand up and get out. Unfortunately, Mack couldn't walk. As he crawled behind a tree, the abomination finally broke the ice off and started running toward Mack with its broken wing dragging behind it. Right before the thing reached him, a stream of Balefire shot from over the ridge, wiping it out of existence, and Mack's wound as well. Mack turned to see what Aes sedai had saved him, but he was greeted with a Man in a Cream Suit. The Man grinned at Mack from behind his sunglasses, and took of his panama hat and bowed like an actor after the show. Mack wasn't interested in his theatrics though. He was interested in what he could see coming out of the mans head when he bowed. Metal spikes. Mack's eyes widened , A hemalurgist? Hes going to come for me, hes from the DA , they've found me, I gotta, I gotta run. Mack Turned around and sprinted the opposite way, dismissing the iceblade as he went. The Man just sighed and began following Mack. "C'mon, I save this guys life and this is how he treats me? Ungrateful scum, He was saved by a great hemalurgist! Heck, he was saved by me! I've saved like 6 people in my life. Only two of which I wasn't contractually obliged to," He muttered. Meanwhile, Mack was growing tried, he couldn't keep up this pace much longer, but he had to get away from that man. There was no way he was heading back to the DA. Ever. He decided to stop for a quick breather at the next tree. When he reached it, he fell over backward in fear. "How, How did you get here?" He stuttered at the Man in the Cream suit, who simply raised an eyebrow. "I'm a cognitive shadow and a hemalurgist, the question you should be asking, is why are you surprised I'm here?" With out answering, Mack stood up and ran away. Groaning, the Man said, "What are you so afraid of?" Mack yelled over his shoulder, "I'm not going back there! Not to the DA!" Internally, the Man groaned. What happened to our amazing PR department? Its like they were fired and used for spikes. Someone needs to get them back in shape. He starts walking after Mack. "C'mon! I'm retired! Why would I spike you?" Wait crap. I was the one who killed them and used their souls for spikes. They need to hire a new department. "Ugh, your fast. I don't want to chase after you." The man stopped, and drew on the saidin to weave a gateway, right in front of Mack. Mack, stumbled through the gateway, and fell back to where the Man in the Cream suit was. "Ungrateful scum, I save your life and you thank me like this? Pitiful," The Man used the One Power to trap Mack and keep him there. "Listen, all I wanted to do was talk. Retirement gets boring occasionally. But you had to run away." "Hey, I've already been captured by the DA once. Mac took over my mind! There is no way that I'm letting that happen again," The Mans eyebrows rose. "Mac you say. I thought he had died yelling something about long live the DA? How could he take over your mind?" "They tricked me into withdrawing all of his memories from a coppermind. He took over then. Not really sure how it happened," Mack struggled against the bonds of air, trying to summon his sword. "Huh, so it actually worked, I didn't expect that. I mean, I knew it was a last ditch, but dang. So Mac stuck around for quite a bit longer then expected huh? Also, stop trying to summon your sword, I temporarily cut your bond with it." "Yeah, everyone was tired of him though. He's gone now. Good riddance." "You so sure about that?" The Man grinned. Macks eyes widened. "Yes I'm sure about it! There's no way," Mack trailed off, looking at the Man in the Cream Suit. "No... Mac is dead! I stored him in a coppermind! You guys do sound similar, but there is no way." The Man in the Cream Suit rolled his eye's. Thinking for a moment, he began to change his clothes. They turned from Cream, to a Deep black. His face grew a mustache, and his glasses turned to a monocle. Finally, his panama hat turned into a black Bowler hat. Mac grinned. "No," Mack paled in fear. "Im back, but retired" "But, But, how?" "Simple really, I was invested with the power of over 9000 adonalsium's before I died. I just anchored my CS to this realm, and have been retired ever sense. Its been good, but I can't let anyone know that I exist, cuz technically the DA owns my soul. I will renegotiate that when I return though. It was a close call when I snagged these spike, but its been good." "No, no no no no no. HOW?! You were dead! We killed you!" Mac broke down sobbing. The memories from his time at the DA coming back, flooding back. Mac looked concerned. Wonder what happened, ooh. His mind wasn't equipped to handle infinity. The void happened to him. "Here, take this," Mac reached inside of his suit and pulled out a spike. Using the one power, he made Mack spread Eagle, and shoved the spike in him. "F-Gold will help you." Mac handed Mack a gold coin. His map of the alleys. It should have enough stored in it to help him. Through the Haze of insanity, Mack felt the spike, and felt the coin. He started drawing in health, healing the mental wounds and scars he had. "Thank you." He muttered to his once captor. "You are welcome. I can help you so that doesn't happen again." "Please. Anything so that doesn't happen again." "It for sure won't happen again. I'm going to expand your mind, so nothing will be able to drive you insane. You will need to become a member of the DA though for it to work."

So it would be feasible for there to be a perpendicularity in the alleyverse. There doesn't need to be a shard present for one to happen, there just needs to be a large enough concentration of investiture. Depending on how invested the World Spike is, it could actually function as a perpendicularity. If we want there to be another one, then that could also be an option. I wonder, lets say someones body, got really invested. So invested, that it became a perpendicularity. Would that person die? what would happen to their CS? Hmm, I may have just gotten a good character/setting thread idea. As for the decaying worldspike, that would definitely pose some interesting problems. One thing that would have to happen though, would be voidus would have to either not care about the alleyverse, or be somehow incapacitated, because he posses the ability to repair the alleyverse with a few spikes.
-
Another quick question, does the alleyverse have a perpendicularity? If so have we discovered it?
-
Riathor was an era 1 character.

In that case, just jump into any of the RP threads that are currently going. The Well of descension is starting up, its another main plot. There is also the waystop and a few other things available. You can join a guild if you want, just ask to in their thread. Generally, they have their own goals that can tie into the main thread.
-
Essentially it is. Its a spike that holds the trait of being a stable universe. We, (the DA) took it from another universe, and made the alleyverse out of it. It bears no relation to the worldspire. In order to get in, I would suggest just reading the pinned threads, then creating a charcater and posting it on that thread, then jumping into on of the RP threads.

"Now, we head into the main part of the base." Stepping onto the Aon Tia in the center of the room, Mack and Alum disappeared in a flash of light. Reappearing in a giant glass dome with augmenting fabrials and strengthening aons all over it. The dome was also at the bottom of the ocean. This Dome was shaped like the center of a Aon Rao, with each of the sides having a door, and large glass hallway leading to smaller circular domes. "Here is the main part of the Craftsmen base, This is where most of the labs are, the sleeping quarters, and all the other necessities of life. Each of the sides leads to a smaller subsection of the base. To the south is the main transporting room. In there we can get all around the multiverse in a few steps. To the west, that is the experimental lab. Lots of explosions and the such over there." He paused for a moment remembering something, then his eyes widened. "That reminds me, I need to drop this off." He removes a gem from his robe. "This has information on hemalurgic automations. I need them, because regular automation are too stupid to work in there, but real people are too valuable and I lose way to many of them because of accidents." He started walking over to the west gate and began explaining their work there. "Right now, we are trying to create self containing plasma swords. They generally explode so its not that functional. We are trying to get them to be summoned by a pair of gloves. The idea, is that you snap your fingers, and an Aon program activates that creates and maintains a plasma sword in your hand. Its really dangerous. I love it." Reaching the west door, he grabbed a craftsman who was walking in and gave him the gem, with instructions to deliver it to the guy in charge there, and to finish building the automatons with this information. "Now, that way is the north door. It leads to where the money is made that keeps this place running." He began to walk toward the east, cutting across the dome. "During the 16 year peace, I traveled around the entire multiverse, and I reached the earth with the free kingdoms. Those guys are idiots by the way. They are under the impression that huts are more advanced than houses. Anyway, I went to the Hushlands, and while I was there, I discovered that they have aluminum all over the place. They have amazing technology that can extract tons of it from a certain rock. Its amazing. I took that, and brought it here, where I make it really cheap, then sell it at a huge markup to scadrial, and the other planets in the cosmere. I make loads of money, and that's how I keep this thing running." Arriving at the east door, he stopped, and said. "This east door is the vault, and my personal quarters." The door swung open, after checking to make sure that it was Mack who was entering. Once inside, he stepped on a moving walkway. "I also got these things in the hushlands. I love them." They stood in silence as they rode down the hallway. When they reached the second dome, the door swung open again, revealing a collection of buildings. Walking through, he named them out. "Here is my personal lab, you can see Operation Iron Man Mk 2 in progress." Looking thorugh the door, there was a series of suits in various stages of construction, each one demonstrating a different sub system that would be needed in the final suit. "Here is the vault." Inside of this room, there were a number of pedestals, each one containing something different. In the back, there were three pedestals higher than the rest, one held a ring, the next a pair of gloves, and the third, a laurel wreath. The rest of the pedestals were filled with various artifacts that Mack was proud of. "And this final building contain most of the quarters for me and the other head craftsmen. You will also be in here. Now that the tour is over, I have stuff I need to do so uh i guess do what you want? Please don't mess with the aluminum, everything in there is automated, and if you bump something it could screw up production. Uhh yeah. Oh, wait. Don't mess with the rods from god, or the nukes, or the other weapons in the middle area. Have fun!" Mack turned around and ran back to the iron man suits and began building his Mk. 2.

Welcome to the alleyverse! We are glad to have another homeless with us. As to the world spike, I’m not sure how that would work, on account of it literally being a giant hemalurgic spike. Now maybe, if we made it in a constant state of hemalurgic decay, then it could charge from the “radiation” from the decaying chunk of the spirit web. But if that happened, then the entirety of the alleyverse should be constantly losing stability and falling apart. I think the alleystorm is the best bet, and just saying that it can recharge sand is the best option. I think that I will also use the method of manually charging the sand with kinetic investiture a few times, if no one is opposed to it. The reason why I want this sorted out is because I’m going to make a new character, who is a sand master. He’s not going to do much though mostly sit around and make a sand garden.
-
I didn't realize about the Alleystorm. I had thought it was like a one time occurrence during the 7 day war, and hadn't happened again. If its actually weekly, then that could also work. I'm tempted to go for that, since I have no idea how much investiture it would take to recharge sand on account of brandon not having figured out a system of measurement for investiture. Like, how many breaths would it take to recharge sand, or how much stormlight, how much feruchemic charge, etc. As for the Dor, I believe I actually have way that that could work. The Craftsmen base is in the shape of a Aon Rao, which similarly to elantris, is a giant power booster for Aons. and we know from SH that I assumed that Mack had set up a system where one of those things takes the Dor to the Base, where it is amplified by the Aon Rao. Though I still haven't figured out how the Dor even works, because we don't have it completely filling the CR. Access to the CR and using the Dor are mutually exclusive, but I think i will figure out a way it could work soon.
-
Yeah, it is stated that the sun is invested and that's why the sand gets recharged by that specific sun. I've always thought that the alleyverse was a kind of, in between place. Thats how we are able to access the Dor, and have spren bonds and the such. But that breaks down when there is a specifc place in the Cosmere that is responsible for something, like taladins sun. Because we dont share the same sky as the cosmere, we don't have any light from that sun reaching us.
-
Nah, I think im good now. I have the Wobs to back it up. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/324-emerald-city-comic-con-2018/#e9288. This one says that the investiture would recharge the sand, making it white again, though the investiture would need to be kinetic, as various other Wobs mention that the sand only reacts to kinetic investiture.
-
We could do that. But one of the common side affects of handwavium is that it makes my head hurt to see all these rules broken. And we are already breaking so many of them. Regardless, if one were to have kinetic investiture, they could recharge the sand using that. Now, I'm not entirely sure what constitutes kinetic investiture, but they say its investiture that is currently being used. I believe that if I were to awaken a pile of sand with a useless command, that the sand would absorb that and recharge, or if I set glowing spheres into a pile of used sand that they would absorb the stormlight being leaked.
-
But the alleystorm doesn't really come through all that often. EDIT: I have found out that the sand can be recharged through any type of kinetic investiture, not just taladins sun.
-
This isn't really about Era two, this is more about the RP in general, but how would sand mastery work in the Alleyverse. I assume that the light from taladins sun can't reach the alleyverse, so would that mean that sand mastery doesn't really work because the sand can't be recharged?
-
Personally, I think it would be way more realistic if people were doing their side plots when the librarians plot became known, at this point, very few people are likely to know about this whole thing.

Giddy with the beautiful theatrics of his entrance, the Main guy motioned for the craftsman to get out of the machine, and to go collect the chaos gear and began loading it into the bottom compartment of the pod. Once that was done, he loaded everyone inside and tapped a Aon Tia on the wall, taking the entire rig and all of the contents away in a flash of light. @Cyanic

Looking around at the wreckage, The craftsman realizes the he must've stepped into a warzone. Dang, wonder what happened here. Hope it doesn't come back. He grabbed the clip board and walked over to the guys setting up the special FX. Leaning down he whispered into their ears, making sure everything was good and ready to go. Once they gave the thumbs up, he pulled out a spanreed, and gave base the ok. Then he went over to the control station, and flipped a switch turning on the smoke machines. Back at the base, a team of hemalurgic automatons began to lift a oblong shape into an Aon Tia. Then a craftsman pushed a few buttons, so that it would appear right above the waystop, then sent it on its way with a flash of light. The Pod appeared in space above the waystop, and began to fall. A few seconds later, if anyone was looking, they would've noticed a bright light in the atmosphere appear, like a meteor coming down to roshar. As the pod got closer, the craftsmen on the ground flipped a switch to the speakers, turning on Black Sabbaths Iron Man. The craftsmen giggled "I love this part of the job," Looking around at everyone's confused faces, he pointed upward and yelled, "Look at the Meteor!" Suddenly, it smashed into the ground, blowing the smoke and a fair amount of dirt away in a ring. When the dust cleared, There was a metal pod with its nose buried in the ground, a door right above ground level. The song still playing in the background, the door opened, revealing a misty room, with a suit of what appeared to be aluminum armor in the middle. MK 1, was written on the left shoulder. The craftsman stood up. "Araha, Here's your suit! How do you like it?" The other guys began to disassemble the speakers and smoke machine, and load it into the pod. They also removed the suit from the pod, and maneuvered it up to where araha was. @Cyanic

A single craftsman holding a clip board appeared in a flash of light about 10 feet up, then fell and landed on the ground with an Omph! "Ugh, they need to re calibrate those sensors." Groaning he sat up, and looked around to find araha. Seeing her across the field, he jogged over and raised the clipboard. "Hey are you araha? I need you to sign this before we can deliver the suit." As he spoke, a bunch of craftsmen appeared in the air with what looked like a sound system and a few other special effects. They began to set them up. @Cyanic
