Here’s another character: I will elaborate more about him and his history/personality later, but is the concept ok? Would anyone be willing to have him as a companion? He wouldn’t bond your character, he would bond a ring that they would have to find.

This can be ignored.

"Super lifeless huh. Wouldn't have thought of using them. Then again, I don't often think of building cities. Now, with the required polite inquiry into your activities done with, I'm going to get on with why I'm really here." As he was saying this he reached into his coat and produced a Tupperware container with a seemingly normal slice of pie. "I'm not actually here to destroy your party, unless I find out that the DAAD has made another acquisition. No, I want to know if you have heard about the change of leadership in the Ghostbloods. The founder, Sebastian is what he calls himself now, has been removed. From what I can see, the Ghostbloods are falling apart. What are your thoughts?" Out of the corner of his eye he saw someone leaping off the tables eating pie. This is why I never come to these. Complete idiots abound. He summoned the One Power in case that guy decided to come toward him and eat his pie.

Yes that’s what I was referring too, sorry for not distinguishing between the two. In my mind there is no difference between the representative and he guild.

Mac approached Dusk. ”I have to admit that this is an impressive city. It takes a lot to impress me, but erecting a city of this size this quickly is impressive. What kind of manpower did you use?”

I would assume that the guilds would vote on things whenever they need to decide how to do something, such as pass laws or do anything like that. I would say that the Great guilds should get a vote on those things like everything else, but when deciding which minor guilds are in the government they should be left out.
-
I proposed that the great guilds get no vote only in the context of determining which minor guilds are on the council. In every other matter they have a single vote that is weighted the same as every other guild.
-
I think that you could always only be counted toward one guild. I think that also it would make sense that you could only rep a single guild.

I’m going to hazard a guess and say that they are fine. </sarcasm>

Mac then reminds dusk that much of the DA is lit as well, and it doesn’t matter what dusk thinks of the streets because he’s not using them to alleytravel, it’s just the people who use the alleys that need to perceive them as alleys.

Mac looked around at the spaces in between the buildings. Those were small enough to be considered alleys. Alley 593685 was so large that we hold re-enactments of space battles spanning light years in it. If alleys can get that big, I don’t think we have an issue.

Mac glanced at his invitation to the party, and fastened his hat tighter onto his head as he walked through the alleys. Dusk had eliminated his use of alleymatics, and stopped teleporting, but it was incredibly to make it impossible for the alleys to get into the city. If you managed to construct the entire city without a single alley, that could possibly work. But they could still worm their way in. He straightened his suit, and stepped out of the alleys and into the city. It certainly was impressive for something so recently built. Hopefully he wouldn't destroy it. He walked to the door of the party and knocked twice.

Mac can compound gold, and has metalminds. And you don’t need to be able to use feruchemy to tap metalmind that is yours.

I think Ark was just ignoring logic there. Voidus is as unkillable as Ark was on the mountain of the gods thread. Unless Hellbent got rid of Voidus' 17th shard account, hellbent couldn't beat his character.

True, But why would he need to leave the alleyverse? He does also have the one power, which has been known to obliterate cities at a time. I try to keep it under wraps. But because he's a hemalurgist he tends to tailor his powerset to the situation. His name is obvious, doesn't necessarily have a weakness, but he makes up for it by never being involved with his powers. His history is his actions in the alleyverse from before Era 1. There isn't a whole lot to him.

NO WAY! I'm exactly the same! In all seriousness, I think it would be a cool idea, but it would not be a competition. At the moment I think that Mac could be the most powerful member of the alleyverse, (Considering that voidus is currently trapped, once voidus gets out Mac is dead). I suggested it mostly in jest, but if you want to give it a go, I would be willing to.

Well I didn't ask you. I asked the fellow who enjoys killing. It's Christmas season, I'm just trying to give a guy something he likes to do.

Do you want to fight? Infact, I'll even let you attempt to assassinate me. Mac won't even see it coming. I would stipulate that if my character somehow overpowers yours that he be allowed to kill you.

Don’t worry about it. Personally, I think that a one mans guild should be the same as a one mans guild according to the census. The goal of the census shouldn’t be to try to make as many guilds work as possible, it should be for each person to determine which guild they support and will put effort toward making sure it’s active. Right now we have massive inflation in terms of guild membership, where someone who is part of 5 guilds can’t possibly put in enough effort into keeping all of them active. I’m planning on massively simplifying he amount of guilds I’m in soon, and cutting out, because I can’t support the keepers, thieves guild, craftsmen and DA at the same time. I would hope that people would try to do the same.

I am of the opinion that guilds of one person shouldn’t count as guilds. I mean no offense to those who have one man guilds, but a guild is a group of people. This has been a constant since the beginning. If you want to fly solo, you can do so. Open up a shop or start an organization, but it’s not a guild unless you get more than one person. I also don’t think that the great guilds are in danger of failing anytime soon for a variety of reasons. The first is in terms of power. Being in a group of a lot of people affords some protection. You have people to support you and are part of a group that can influence things. The second is the community aspect. Each guild is a community. The DA is about hemalurgy, I love hemalurgy and everything about it. I stay with them because the other guilds aren’t like that, they are about other things. I fail to see how joining a great guild is bad for you, could you explain that a little bit? Finally I personally see guilds with 2 people very different than guilds with four people. This is less about terms of in RP power, and more of the rules of RPing. Four people generally trump one person when it comes to telling the story. A four person guild will always have more clout in telling a story than a one or two person guild. No matter the size of the army that the one person has. Im sorry that I did a bad job of explaining this, it didn’t quite come out the way I wanted it to, but at least from all the RP’s that I’ve been in the side that has more RP’ers always has more power then the other side, no matter how strong the other side is on paper.

I would be willing to support this cause.

I was thinking about the economy of the alleyverse, and I realized it makes absolutely no sense. Namely the cost of the materials necessary for using investiture. In most of not all of the books, people had to have access to vast amounts of wealth so that they could spend time using investiture. You don't get to not work a day and still afford quantities of metal and stormlight. I think that great houses could fix this, a little bit. Essentially they explain the economy of the alleyverse by each having an area that they specialize in. They would be entirely in character. All the characters who are members of the house would be siblings/related. Unless you are employed by the house, then that's different. They would be entirely economic, and not wield any political power. Politics is for guilds. Economics is for the houses. OOC, they allow a way for people to pass on characters wealth/resources without extreme handwavium. However, now that I typed this out, I realized maybe we have enough changes for this era break, and should Iron out these before making any more.

Do we have an opinion on forming houses? Like great houses from mistborn?
