  1. "We have shipping and do take mail orders. But, I'm not really sure I want some of the merchandise that I have being spread across the alleyverse. No offense, but I don't know who you would sell to, and who they would sell too, and I really wan't to keep the supply Of my products in my hands."
  2. Looking at KoTiel, Mac said, "True. That could very well work. And it has the added benefit of not having any damage to the body." He then turned to listen to Laurelai. "That right there, that is a very smart idea." He grabbed a cookie and ate it in 2 quick bites. "What your saying, Is to make a stamp and apply it to them. Once the stamp takes affect, we spike them and that spike keeps the stamps permanency? How would that work? Would the stamp create a hole in the spirit web that we would fill with a spike? Once the spikes in, even if the stamp tried to reassert its self, its pinned on there with the spike right? I love it."
  3. The clerk looks up. "Uhhhhh... I'm not sure How I feel about that. I'll need to bring in Mack." The clerk runs off to find Mack. A few hours later, he walks back in, burnt and limping. He's followed by a silvery man in black and gold robes, wearing a pair of what look like aluminum plated gauntlets. "Here they are boss." The clerk stumbles, and Mack catches him. "Thank you. Again, I'm sorry about the fireball. Go to the infirmary." Mack turned to face the Alleyzon representative. "Well, uh this is certainly a surprise. I actually forgot 'bout the store being closed. Sorry about that. Uh, but I'm not sure that I like the idea of letting someone else handle my merchandise. We make the most dangerous stuff on the market, and I carefully pick both my employees and who I sell to so that I can make sure that its not causing too much damage. I will have to respectfully decline the partnership idea. With that said, I am not expecting any more delays in production. And will promptly re-open shop, so that should no longer be an issue."
  4. Mac was handed a folder by an alcolyte, and flipped through to The Strangers explanation of Winter Devotions case. "You see, Test Subject 52, or was it 79? Anyway, Winter as you know her underwent a, unique procedure. I was testing a breakthrough, and she seemed like a wonderfully helpful person. And so Winter became one of the first ever receivers of an Essence Spike, something I'd whipped up in Alley 9. Though it was simply meant to be a stepping stone in the path to my goal, it turned out to be a fantastic discovery in it's own right. I was able to spike out a Soul." The Stranger grinned with delight, reveling in this revelation and the awe of the other Denizens. "Not just a piece of a Spirit-web, but an entire soul. There are two entities inhabiting her body as we speak: The Girl, and The Wolf. It was one of our semi-sentient wolves Redbird had crafted here in the Alleys, fine craftsmanship all around. Interestingly, the transfer didn't quite go as planned. Instead of the wolf taking over and subduing the girl's consciousness, it chose to cohabitate with her, in a semi-mutualistic relationship. With her cognitive and spiritual Identities so radically changed, the test subject gained the ability to shapeshift. Unfortunately, there were a few unforeseen side-effects. One is that occasionally the Wolf will fight the Girl for conscious-dominance, resulting in apparent madness. However, as an expert in the art of madness, I can assure you that the test subject is not mad, just a little mixed-up. The other slight issue is that this merging of souls, combined with the extremely high hemalurgic energy I used, left her rather susceptible to Shardic Influence. As such, she may be having a few interesting conversations in her head that she'd rather not have." Hmmm. So it seems like this man is reacting to this, like Winter should have reacted to the essence spike. "Interesting. From this transcript of the Strangers description of the Essence spike, I am gathering that the feelings that this man is experiencing, are consistent with how one would expect an essence spike to function. Very interesting. I think that what the stamp did was create an artificial soul, and then input it into the essence spike. The essence spike then overlaid it with the subjects soul. While that definitely was unexpected with this, it is interesting to know how the stamp affected it. Now I would hypothesize that in order to achieve our original affect, we would have to recreate the soul of a person, and spike out their original soul. Then we can insert the manufactured soul into the empty body." Looking at his lab assistants, "What do you guys think?"
  5. “At least we can use proper grammar! I standing in a crowd.” Franz snickered.
  6. “Good!” The man pulls of a mask to reveal himself as Franz, the neighboor hood sausage maker. “Your plan is wrecking my sales.”
  7. “Nope. Not really. Not right now at least. Considering we are all being rioted by the most powerful rioting sense the founding of the cosmere I think it’s excusable.”
  8. “Yeah, there were a lot of people there! How do you think they spiked that many people?”
  9. A random onlooker from the crowd yells out: “I know about the cataclysm of death! It was that thing where the DA got bored so decided to do a testing spree on Nalthis!”
  10. Macs eyes rose. "Well that is certainly interesting. Usually when one's self is forged, they forget the first History after a moment. But in this case, he remembers both." Mac took a step forward. "Can you explain how you remember being born in two places at the same time?" "I remember it twice. Like you can remember two events that happened a week ago. One set of memories from when I was born in Kholinar, and the other from Azimir." Mac slowly started to chew a cookie. Why was this happening now? The Forgery should be rewriting his spirit web? Wait... But that's not what the stamp did, was it. The stamp was placed on the spike, essentially imbuing it with this alternate history. That history was put into the man. What they needed was a way for the stamp to rewrite the soul of the person, and have the spike keep that new soul in place. "Does any one set of memories seem to be dominate over the other? As in, does one appear to be more you." The man looked confused for a moment. "Its difficult to say. I seem to remember the ones of a life in kholinar with more accuracy, but the ones from a life in Azir appear to be what are more me." "Interesting. This seems to support a hypothesis that what the soulstamp did was create a soul in the essence spike, and spike it onto the man, instead of rewriting his spirit web. But the subject is not behaving like one would expect the recipient of a essence spike to behave. I haven't read the literature in a while. Can someone locate the case file on Winter devotion when the essence spike was inserted?"
  11. "Good job. Thanks Jeffery. Its good denizens like you who keep the alleys running. Take a cookie!" Mac waved his hand to the cookie bowl in the corner of the lab. "Thank you." Mac said as he grabbed the spike from Laurelai. "Now to remove the previous spikes to free of space from this first one." Mac reached down with his free hand to remove the first spike while breathing in stormlight to heal the man. He pulled out the spike, and quickly placed it on the side before using the surge of progression to heal the man. He shouldn't need blood to preserve the spike, because it didn't contain the little bits of people's soul that decayed. It was a stamp, fueled by the Dor. Mac readied the second spike with Atium and Fortune, Then slammed it in with another WHACK! with the sledge hammer, only this time, the spike went it a little crooked. It didn't appear to matter, because as Mac removed the hammer, the mans skin grew darker as he transformed from an alethi man to someone from Azir. Mac could barely contain a grin as he removed his gloves and munched on a cookie. Forgery had never done stuff like this before! Oooh this was good. "Laurelai, because you made the stamp, can you interrogate the man to see if the entire stamp took hold? I'm afraid the bind point may have been a little off and something may not have taken affect."
  12. There was the mediocrity lit alley. I feel like thats the same sort of thing.
  13. Mac ignored the fire alarms. It was kind of pointless to have them, considering that most DA members have methods of healing, and that that there wasn't anything flammable in this part of the alleys. Also, did anyone really expect us to stop experimenting just because a fire alarm went off? Mac knew that some people weren't as dedicated to science as he was, but no self respecting DA member would stop for a little fire. Breathing in stormlight, he healed the man on the table, and he woke up. "Wha- wha where am I?" He asked confused, in Azish. Grinning, Mac started the questioning, to see if the changes had occurred. "What do you remember about your childhood? What did you do?" He asked all sorts of questions to assure that the spike had taken affect. Once he was sure, he layed him back down and re-sedated him. "Ok, Trial #2, is we will make this man's family be from Azir. Instead of him just having his languedge changed and his memories, the goal is to physically change his ethnicity into that of an Azish person. Laurelai, please prep the next stamp. We need you to use stamps for now so that we can record the effects if they fail. Once we get to the second round of tests, then you can use your boon." With the alarms still blaring in the background, Mac turns and yells "Can someone shut off the alarms as well?"
