"So essentially, the only parts that concern me is the part that says we can't seek revenge, and if we don't seek revenge for the purpose of the duel we will be informed of any sister craft of the fiend being built? If that is the case, I would like a more specific restrictions on the fiend. Right now, I'm imagining a situation where if there is already an ongoing conflict, and the deaths are into the hundreds, then the fiend will be allowed to be brought in without any consequences unless someone can prove that it caused more than 9,900 deaths. Its already difficult to prove how many deaths would be directly or indirectly attributed to the fiend, what counts as a casualty, and a number of other things in the heat of the battle. Adding this to where minor conflicts involving the DA can result in millions of deaths, I think I need to see more restrictions on the fiend before I sign this, because right now there are too many loopholes."

"I have a few questions. The first, is how do you intend to enforce this treaty? Second, for the fifth clause, does this mean only military craft belonging to to you? Or do all the undersigned guilds have to sell military craft? Third, what defines a situation which requires the Fiend, as mentioned in clause three? Is the requirement that the fiends intervention wont increase the number of deaths by more than 2 orders of magnitude? I also have concerns that clauses 2 and 3 are contradictory. The fiend will be used as a mining device, then you specify the need to defend someone. That doesn't sound like mining to me."

Lol, I remember when I made that oath. It was like, actually forever ago. I just realized that I was one of the founding members of a guild that I betrayed.

"Hmmm. I wonder if we could create a new kandra and have that be the blank slate. Then I wonder if they could store identity during the transfer. That would help. Though if you need it, I think we could procure a bloodbath to do the transfer in. The spikes wouldn't decay because they would be covered with blood."

"Ahhhh." Mac started pacing around the bubble. "Of course this would necessitate a complete preservation of the memories. The major flaw with my version of this was that I thought I could sidestep coppermind memory decay. I wasn't able to. Do you know if this has any similar issues?"

"OK, he said the same thing to me. He tried to put the bomb inside of me, but I got it away before he could. I would suggest going to the labs quickly, we can probably fix your spirit web, but it wouldn't be good if he detonated the bomb."

Advanved Hemalurgy for the Scientifically Inclined
MacThorstenson replied to Fatebreaker's topic in The Alleyverse
Mac sat in his office. The Stranger was back. The best scientist the DA ever had. The man who created the essence spike. His research had guided and helped Mac's own counterintelligence division flourish. While Mac was more interested in the guild and business side of things, he knew that without people like The Stranger, the DA would cease to be important. Science was the lifeblood of the Darker Alleys, and it was about to make a large leap forward. The Stranger had informed him that he needed the broadcasting system up and running. He was going to be making an announcement. Mac wanted to be ready to watch it happen.- 26 replies

I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED So you can't actually spike breaths from someone. But I think I have a way. Simply speaking what we do is we have one guy make a large collection of stored breath, then put them in a inanimate objects, then give you a cookie that was baked with a spike that has a little piece of their spirit web. This should give you enough of their identity that you can reclaim any breaths that they store. We could set up a weekly thing where we send you an object with a single breath in it per week, or an initial delivery of a whole lot of breaths.

Mac watched him walk away. Keeping an eye on him, he turned back to @kenod's character. Leaning in close, so no one could hear them, he burnt bendalloy, forming a bubble around them. "Keep an eye on Dusk. He was somehow interested in the spiritual pigmentation of hair. Don't say anything about the experiment with mraize around him."

"I would assume so. I mean, I wasn't exactly subtle with my acquisition." Mac paused to glance over at the ruins of the GB ball. That had been fun. "If he doesn't know about it than I would say that his network of spies is pretty bad. Whether or not he acknowledges the acquisition is a different matter, but frankly I don't care enough about the matter to pursue it. We have much more exciting things coming from the alleys than worrying about the guilds."

"No not Mraize, as in a member of the trifecta which was formerly in charge of the ghostbloods. I mean Mraize as in the title. It's a title for someone in the Ghostbloods. Now that we officially acquired them we decided to incorporate some of their ranks into our own. Now whenever you walk the alleys, in addition to seeing the generic Acolyte's, or Denizen's, or Department Head's, or Supreme Creator of the Alleyverse, you can also find a few Mraizes scattered around."

Mac groaned inwardly. Then put on a grin. "Oh I was referring to the experiment done in alley 925 subsection F by Mraize earlier today. Its a fascinating experiment that is a part of a longer series of experiments that are trying to locate the spiritual gene for individual pigments of your hair. We've made a lot of progress in this area and are able to generally locate different colors, but because hair is composed of a multitude of colors, we need to locate the different pigments in order to really achieve mastery over the hair." He took a breath and started eating a peanut butter cookie. "The difficult thing about this entire endeavor is that the genes for hair color are different in different people. For the educated, those who know the science and chemistry behind hair color, the sDNA sequences are generally located in the area that control pigment production. For those who perceive their hair as just a color however, the genes are in a completely different area. Its really a fascinating subject. Do you want to hear more?"

Mac approached from behind @kenod's character. He knew that kenod had also been involved in the Experiment, and needed to find out if his experiment was similar to his. "Hello KoTiel, How did mraizes experiment go?"

Thank you. The citywide system is already, and the hub has been connected. @Fatebreaker Video capabilities are fully operational, as well as audio. I'm receiving word now that tech has installed a giant holographic projector that will project the image into the sky. Do you also want that in addition to hacking into everyone's personal electronics? -

Will do. The latest report is saying that they have landed in the resonance fields, but in the 6th dimension. Not the fourth or the fifth. We are currently moving in to grab them now. They will be back shortly. EDIT: @Fatebreaker The speakers have been retrieved and are being set up on the roof of the building next to alley 6178. -

@Fatebreaker The equipment is still functional, but there was a dimensional rift around the broadcasting hub, causing it to move 1 or 2 dimensions up. We are currently trying to find it. The Backup broadcasting hub is currently functional, but it doesn't have peanut butter cookies for snacks, so I've been avoiding it. -
