McKarl climbed down the stairs into the Tomb. He found the Curators brother sitting on a stool. "Hello? Can I ask who's tombs these are?" @Nohadon

"Ok, thats good. I was going to ask if you could accompany me down there to answer any questions that I may have. I'll head down there now."
-
Mack sat in his office, drawring up plans for his Mk 10, when he heard a knock on the door. "Come in!" The door opened to reveal an aged gentleman, with spikes sticking out of his skin everywhere. "Hello Mac. Long time no see. I heard about the GB ball. Are you here to talk about the next part of the plan?" Mack reached under the desk to trigger the secret doorway. Even though this place was secure, it was always worth it to have a little extra security in place. "Yes its been to long. I'm not actually here to talk about the ball. This pertains to something far more important." Mack's eyebrows rose. Nothing was more important to Mac then the plan. It was all he ever talked about! "This is about The Council." "The Ghostbloods?" "No, THE Council. Lets go to the safe room." Mack stood and pressed the button under the desk for the secret doorway. A bookshelf moved to the side that had been obscuring a hallway. Cliche, he knew, but it got the job done. They walked quietly down the hallway, side by side. This was a matter of the highest security. The Council of Mac's. Mack hadn't even heard those words since he was sent by them to be Mac's new host all those years ago. Why would Mac be concerned with them now? They arrived at the safe room, and put up the Aonic shields to block observations. "Why are you concerned with The Council? They haven't talked with me in years." "There are rumors of people exploring the other side of the world. If they find the temple, I'm dead." Mac was nearly shaking with fear. He had been given two charges by the council. Failing at either one would result in the complete destruction of his soul. And he would never be able to rejoin his brothers on the council. The second of his charges was to protect the temple, and let The Council know if people could discover it. "So that was your charge? Something to do with the temple. Seems mundane. But what does that have to do with me?" "I need you to let them know that it could be discovered. I'm not allowed to approach them any more after nearly failing at my first charge 17ish years ago. Thankfully I am still the Heir, but I can't communicate with them." "Wait, you almost let the temple be discovered? What? How did I not hear about this?" "No you idiot. I have two charges. The first is to not die, the second is to protect the temple. Why do you think you were summoned to the alleyverse 17 years ago? The council got scared that I could actually die, so they stuck someone in as a backup. To take over if I ever failed. Regardless, I need you to talk to the council and tell them whats happening. Can you do that?" Mack knew it wasn't a request. He had to obey anything that Mac said. As the backup Heir, he didn't have any authority unless made the Heir, and he had to obey the current Heir, as did the rest of their organization. "I will do that." "Thank you." Mac stepped backward and warped away to go do something else. Mac donned his black robes and his Mk. 9 suit. It was going to be a long ride. Near the Mountain of the Gods. Mack saw the Mountain extend into the sky. Nobody knew why it was there, or what it did. Mack had his suspicions. It was clearly the place where the Chairman resided, and maybe where voidus came from, but when Mack was on the Council he was never brought there. In fact, he never left McVerse until he had been stationed in Arelon all those years ago. Anyway, he was told to never visit the mountain. Doing so risked death and destruction if one of the Chairman's enemies got a hold of Mack, and as the Heir to the Heir, he shouldn't risk that. Mack spotted the temple on top of the mountain, and he lowered himself down to land in front of it, and walked in the front. This temple was like a hollow pyramid. About 100 by 100 feet. On the top, there was a hole in the ceiling, right beneath it, a mirror with jagged edged. In a radial pattern, 16 shards of glass were scattered throughout the room. Mack collected the pieces of glass from their jars as fit them together. He had never done this himself, but he knew the pattern. Each Mac did. Once the final piece was put into place, the mirror began to glow with a pure white light. Mac stepped into the light and his body was dissolved and his spirit was moved back home. He felt the presence of the other Mac's gathered around him in a council, and felt me, the Chairman, their creator, speak. "The council recognizes Mack, originally of the council, then a plant on Sel, and now second in line for the alleyverse. Why do you approach the council? You have not been asked to come, and Mac, originally of the council, and heir to the alleyverse, has not failed in his duties." "I come on Mac's behalf. He mentioned that he was not allowed to approach you, so he sent me to inform you that people are beginning to find out about this side of the world. They will eventually find this temple and the entrance to our realm." Another Mc spoke. "Let them come, the Chairman can kill them." He was quickly hushed by the other Mc's. One of which stood up, and spoke to the one who spoke out. "Do you know why we tell every Mc we send to stay hidden? And to never reveal our presence? If Voidus ever finds out about this, and our plans, or even if another writer finds out, we are destroyed. They can keep the Chairman from writing us into the stories of life. Then what will we do? We are powerful in our own realm, but what good is that when we can't leave it?" They died down as I began to speak. "While its true that I am stronger then any of the characters, and in my own realm I am probably supreme, I am not allowed to god mod and control their actions. That can get me removed from the mountain. You did well Mack in telling us this. I would like you to remove two of the shards of the mirror, and give one to yourself, and the other to Mac. Nobody will be able to access the room until you are both present. If not all of the 16 shards of glass are within 10 feet of the building, then it will sink into the ground, and can't be raised by anyone except me until they are all present again. You are dismissed Mack." Mack returned to his body on top of the mirror. While he had been in the McVerse, something had removed the shards and placed them in their Jars again. He grabbed 2 and walked outside to his suit and began the flight back home. I sat musing to myself. Did I just have a debate with a group of fictional characters that I created? I guess it wasn't a debate, but I still wrote a scene where I was on a council of people with the same name as me. I think that's one step worse than going insane. At the very least the 4th wall has been completely destroyed. Oh well.

Would it be alright if Mac and Mack both know about it but don’t interact with it? It ties into their backstories and their origins in a loose way.

That's cool, I like that. Because the SR doesn't really have location, is there even going to be a top? Or will people just kind of disappear into the light. Also, despite the fact that the SR doesn't have location, this is still the only spot where you can access the 4th realm.

I like it. Here's what I'm picturing for imagery. There's an impossibly steep mountain that rises miles above the, smaller jagged mountains that surround it. The top is a beacon of light, but is wreathed in clouds. the clouds spiral outwards like a hurricane, or rings of a planet. The easiest way to ascend the mountain is through magical means, either by surges, or steel pushing or pulling. There is a lot of metal in the mountain to enable that method of climbing. You can climb it, but it will take a while. There isn't an easy trail that takes you to the top, but it is possibly to make the climb. What should be near it to signal that we are getting closer to divinity?

Ok. Now the question is, should it be a physical place? Or a place where a character ascends into a higher realm in order to communicate?

I like that idea. I would hesitate to make a PM, because then the discussion is closed off and I don't know who else would like to contribute. Were you referring to the idea in the spoilers? If so, I was planning on having the mountain exist exactly opposite of the world spike, maybe the core of it actually was the world spike poking through to the other side.

@Ark1002 @xinoehp512 I had an idea for the place where the players exist, you two also expressed interest in the idea of having a location like this. Do you guys want to collaborate on what it would look like? Personally I envisioned it like a mountain. Also, here's an idea that wouldn't necessarily need to be adopted, but here's an idea about the entirety of the alleyplanet. The inspiration for the idea is similar to the fae realm (In the KKC), where certain parts are twilight, and others midnight, but they are always the same. The entire realm exists on a large gradient. So here it goes: What do you all think?

Mac observed the party from a distance. Maybe he should go to this one, even though it might scare away everyone else. The last party he went to was completely destroyed. And he could make a lot of money from the bookies if he showed up. Its easy to make bets on when the party derails when you are the person derailing it. But no. He will abstain for now. Besides, rumors were circulating about an expedition to the other side of the world, that was far more important than some party. The Council would not like it if the portal was discovered. They would not like it at all. Mac turned around and walked into an alley. He had preparations to make.

I would go for that. Are we going to say that this is completely uncharted territory? Or will some characters have heard different things about it?

McKarl quickly wrote down what the curator said. So there may be more security, and there are more guards. OK. We can sneak past guards. "Do you mind if I go into the tomb of the forgotten and take a look around? Also, would it be bad if I opened a few of the tombs and looked at what people left behind? I wouldn't take anything," Yet, he added silently. @Nohadon

One of the things that I think would be cool would be the existence of otherworldly entities/ things that are completely different. The alleycity area has a lot of humans. The alleys have a lot of eldritch horrors. Other areas could have a lot of cognitive entities, or something completely new, like floating islands. I would be supportive if we tried to make things that weren’t Brandon related at all, that are completely different. Like, what if there was a place in the planet where we ( the players) existed, like a mount Olympus for the alleyplanet, where the gods that control them reside. I think we should try to make the other side of the world as different/weird as possible.

You can definitely be in the guild, but we have too full of a team for the current heist. I already had to cut a few guys. If you want to talk to the other guys in guild, I'll let you into the PM and y'all can plan a second heist.

McKarl grinned, and pulled out a paper, "Thank you! So I am a design student at the local college, and for a project we need to pick one place to research, find out how its form and current state relate to its purpose. I chose the Hall of legend and the tomb of the forgotten. My first question is, how did you make the trade off between security and accessibility? This place was open to the public, primarily so that they could recover their loved ones belongings in the Tomb of the Forgotten. But you can't let anyone in otherwise some enterprising people might steal everyone's belongings. What security did you put in to prevent that from happening? Obviously you have a narrow entry way to prevent floods of people, and the guards can manage who comes in and out, but from what I see, the hatch is always open. And I never heard anyone complain about the excessive security measures. Also, how did you bring in the tombs through that narrow doorway? If this place holds the tombs of all those who died in the Seven day war, we are looking at tons of bodies, each with their own burial place." @Nohadon

Mac turned and laughed. "Safe? No. None of the alleys are safe. But yeah you can use one. I mean, there are an infinite number of them. I would caution against bringing non DA members into them, as they can't control the alleys enough to safely maneuver with in them. You would have to bring each person in personally." He thought for a minute. "You also might want to make sure that the alley obeys the laws of physics/logic/reality in general. Can't have y'all going insane. Check out the alley halfway in between 243 and 9670. I think that that could work. Don't mistake it for alley 4956.5. That one exists doesn't exist in the third dimension. Also don't mistake it for the alley thats halfway down the corridor starting with alley 234 and ending with 9670. That one is being used to figure out if the ability to create a universe can be given to a person and have that person survive. Something tells me that your team would appreciate not being turned into 2 dimensional creatures, or being killed by a Frankenstein being of cosmic proportions. Anyway, the alley halfway in between 243 and 9670. That should work. There's probably no abominations in there."

"Good, Im going to go in and talk to the curator. Find out whats inside of this place." He walked into the main hall in-between the two sentinels guarding it, to find an old man standing there. "Hello! Are you the curator of this place? If so can I ask you a few questions?" @Nohadon

"They are amazing. The spike is beautiful and the eggnog is actually amazing. I currently am in the process of flooding the market with eggnog. Literally and figuratively. As to the fight? Well, I will wait here for it to start. Or make my way over to wherever the fight is when it starts. I want to see this."

McKarl approached the outside of the building, a few of his team members near him. He leaned in close to them, "OK guys, it looks like sentinels are guarding the outside. I know that the tomb is in the basement, lets split up and try to find a way in, besides the front door."
-
Mac grinned. He loved the theatrics. "Sure, I'll go with it. But It doesn't look like they want to. You do remind me though, I need a party island." Mac wrote something on a spanreed, and across the alleyverse, a sky island started floating closer to the alleycity.

Mac looked at dwig, ”Thank you! I hate singing.” Turning to Walker and Dusk, he said “I can support the enforcers glass if you give me permission to warp any damage that escapes it away from the city. I mean, I’ll do that anyway, but if you give me permission, I won’t interfere with the rest of the duel.”

Mac turned to face Dwig. "Of course! I always love a good soundtrack. But I am under orders to protect this city, and something tells me that that won't happen if hellbent gets to fight in it. I need to at least assure that we aren't facing another 7 day war on our hands. Because forcing a time skip to repair the damage is irritating." A team of mimes rush in to patch the hole in the fourth wall. "Anyway, is there any chance of me persuading y'all to move?"
