  1. I think the clock is broken.
  2. Welcome to the Shard!!!! That is totally cool, and don't eat the cookies. Cheers!
  3. Discussion time! So some interesting things have happened. First, Arinian was an Edgedancer, and escaped. Seeing how most people feel about Arinian right now, the general feel about him is Honorable? Anyways, I'm not going to pursue his death, as it seems tedious. So in other ways... Alvron. You missed being imprisoned by one vote last cycle, and you haven't been giving of the most "innocent" vibes as of late. Of course, I might be wrong, especially after my self-confidence has wavered, seeing that many players from the AG (no spoilers from the spectator doc) I suspected turned out to be Villagers. Really, I'm not sure what to do concerning everything, since hard evidence we have is minimal, and if we go through with trying to lynch Arin again and he turns out to be good, then that flips a lot of things on their heads. But Alv, Alv is a suspicion I've had for a while. Frankly, I just want to pry apart all of his deep, cryptic thought processes and comfort myself in knowledge of the unknown. And seeing that Quiver, being inactive, is unlikely to have snatched up the Edgedancer Bond, we can just execute and leave the prison free for the next prisoner. Really, until people start filling up the prison, the only choice of execution is Quiver, and let's just use the action because we can?
  4. So I was busy most of today, so I haven't been able to check the forum lately. I'll post RP now and discussion tomorrow. Sareth ran his hands down the beaten length of his staff, his good, sturdy, trusty staff. It had served him well, but was in bad shape. He felt behind his back at the gaping hole in his cloak. Such a pity, that a historical garment such as the Truthseeker's Robe should be rent by his actions! He would have to get this mended immediately. He knew a bit about sewing from experience, but lacked the equipment necessary. He would have to find seamstress of some sort to do the work for him. He patted his pockets. Unfortunately, most of his sphere had been lost or gone dun because of previous events. He hoped that he could bargain a job out of her. He strolled down the halls of Urithiru, relaxing peacefully, enjoying the lack of danger in the air. Even if there were assassins lurking about, hidden among the ranks of the Initiates, would they jump out and stab him now? No, don't be ridiculous. He still had at least today in his life, and that was enough. He focused on his feet. One step at a time. He descended, finding himself among a crowd. He pushed about, weaving through the throng, and caught a bit of conversation. "Yeah, everyone's meeting down at Pub Seb. Great place to unwind." Sareth's eyebrows raised. A pub? Not normally the place that he would wander into, but he would be in the company of Radiants, so such a pub would be no ordinary one. If only he could find it... he walked off in one general direction, and hoped that it would lead him in towards his goal. A while later, an indeterminable amount of time has passed, no one was really paying attention... Pub Seb was a hive of activity. Initiates lounged at tables, gripping mugs or glasses of colorful wine. Behind the bar was that same chromatic assortment of wines from the gala. So this was the man that had supplied that night's festivities with its alcohol. Sareth shrugged. It didn't matter to him. After retrieving a glass of water from the bartender (at least it was free), he selected a table and sat down. He sighed. At last, a time when he could actually sit! Strange, the things we take for granted. He glanced around at the other tables. Initiates laughed and chatted. In the corner, Teresh sat down with Hithon. Their conversation did not seem as carefree as the others'. Sareth tapped his chin. There is more afoot among us than we know, he thought. However, this was not his place to take action among the pasts of the men. He had only to convert them.
  5. I would change the Mistborn Jack to Kelsier. He deserves it. And I like Hoid's continuity.
  6. Welcome to the Shard! Please share your thoughts with us, just make sure you put it in the theories section. Don't eat the cookies!
  7. No! Don't listen to Darkness!
  8. Welcome to the Shard! Listen to Shqueeves, and don't eat the cookies. It's awesome you are here!
  9. This connects the ending of my last RP to the present: Sareth looked around and struggled to his feet. Where was everyone? Then he saw them, all at the feet of a massive spire, just ten paces away. Somehow, the flood had carried them all the way. He raced to join them, supplementing his weakness with his staff. ... The Oathgate flashed, and they were all safely back in the Holy City. It had not changed in its magnificence a bit, but Sareth had. He had been in war. He had fought not only a chasmfiend, but also voidbringers, and lived! He sighed. So much trauma... he will go meditate now.
  10. I'll probably revive Sareth later sometime, maybe at the beginning of next cycle, but for now I'm going to continue with discussion-y topics. So much of the discussion is over what to do with Arinian. I did vote for his death, mainly because everything was moving in that direction (the groupthink is strong with this one), but right now it is hard to glean much hard info. I guess it is almost impossible to get any "hard info" in SE, but at least any definite suspicions and evidence. I suppose lynching Arinian is a start, gets us his alignment and such, but it won't do much if all we see is Honorable Initiate. It would be nifty if he had a Bond, and it would get us more information/affiliations on those who were leading his capture and lynch. Speaking of those key in his capture an lynch, that is pretty much all of the info we will get if he is Honorable. If he is Unjust, then wow. We are storming lucky this game. Maybe as lucky as Mat Cauthon.
  11. Okay, fine, you caught me. I have been posting solely RP (because I love it so much! This is why I joined this game), and so I am going to devote some time to discussion. First, with my vote. Quiver It seemed like there was a strong push for imprisoning (why is everyone calling it lynching? It is imprisonment) Quiver last cycle, but instead it was Arinian. Why? This seems a little suspicious, and there is not a reason not to if Quiver is inactive. Remember, in this game, activity is paramount! As for executions, I can't say that I want to execute anyone, but seeing how things are looking at this point, Arinian. I have a few suspicions right now, but first let's get Quiver imprisoned. That alright for you Doc?
  12. Sareth looked behind him and stopped in shock. A black wall of water, churning, raging water, was blasting towards them, crashing through everything that stood in its way. At first it was a ways off, then it had engulfed the furthest back, and then... Brace yourself ... FLOOM Sareth was swept away by the unyielding current, spinning and spinning in the darkness, the cold water pressing the air from his lungs and tugging at his clothes, his cloak, his staff. Chunks of stone sped past him, banging into his limbs with brutal force, making him cry out in pain, only to have cold dark water rush into his mouth. His eyes bulged, and the water stung them. This is evil water, intent on killing us... Gasp! His head broke the surface for an instant, filling his lungs with beautiful, precious air. In the second that he had, he saw the red lightning flash above, and then he was sucked under for more torture. He was thrown against the chasm wall, his back scrapped against it, his face bashed against the stone. And then he was somersaulting, up is down and down is up, through the abyss, swirling and swirling into the cold vortex of death. Was there no escape? How could it be, that after such a hard fought victory that fate must come back and slap us across the face for good measure? The Voidbringers were one thing, a foe that could be fought, but the mighty hand of nature? So magnificent and powerful, that not even the face of the land can stand before it. The wise plants hide themselves from the wrath of a highstorm. And we were fools, to come here and beat ourselves, calling it "training". Is it training if when you leave, you are so broken that the next day is your last? Is it training if you see your friend die? No! No, that is not training, that is torture! No sane man would do that to his soldiers. Captain Kaladin is not sane... and neither is nature. More glorious air! It rushed down Sareth's greedy throat, before the waters filled it in. He glimpsed the outer world, a solid ground. Why... he thought, and slipped into blackness. ... Sareth, do not doubt. But why? I told that nature is Truth, but how can I say that something such as that, which threatened our lives, is Truth? It is madness, I tell you. Truth is not madness! It is order, peace, not chaos and destruction! Oh why, why, why, must this happen to me? My faith could have been firm, safe in my body somewhere else, where nothing is trying to kill me. But no, I am here, probably dead, with an internal struggle of faith that is tearing me apart! If Truth is peace, then seek the peace. Be calm. Have faith. You will survive. How can you say that? How can you be sure? I thought I was sure, before I almost died. I thought that the book was pure and True, nothing amiss. How can I explain this in the Truth? You said it yourself, that the Truth is eternal, no matter what man does. The misconceptions of men will not change infinity. Your new knowledge will benefit many. If those Truthseekers of old did not face what you are, then glory to you! Share this, write it down, so that future generations may know all sides of the Truth. But... you are right. Thank you for bringing reason to my soul. It is what I do. Now return... ... Gasp! Sareth found himself lying on stone. Where was he? He looked around and saw only puddles and rubble on stone. Well, that was a long one. For the timeline's sake, consider the final line to occur sometime after the flash flood wipes through. Good luck surviving the flood!
  13. If that's okay, then let's have some fun. Initiates, brace yourselves for the flood!
  14. Ranatar and Kintas had run ahead, laying waste to Voidbringers where ever they turned. In a more peaceful position, Sareth might have wondered how a band of soldiers as inexperienced as them- some were not even soldiers- could have killed so many Voidbringers already, and not have been obliterated in the process. However, this was not a peaceful position, and Sareth was simply grateful that he had not been fried yet. The rain was beginning to pick up. This was a strange storm; there was no stormwall. Instead, the rain increased like a crescendo, gradually growing in strength until they came down with the force of stones. Water poured over the edge of the chasm and made wide puddles on the ground. Red lightning flashed, casting menacing shadows. They grew nearer and nearer to their goal, the Oathgate, but the Voidbringers became more ferocious. Their screams of fury echoed off the chasm walls, the rending sound filling everyone's ears. Sareth batted one away with his staff. It snarled and pounced, but he gave it a hard jab in the throat section. It made a choking noise and backed off, clutching its neck and eventually collapsing. He didn't see if it got up. As he turned back towards the others, his ears caught a new noise: a low rumble, a faint rushing, like a hidden river. His eyes widened. A river... oh Truth have mercy... He broke into a sprint and yelled to the other Initiates. "Run, for all you have! RUN!" @Amanuensis, is that okay? Am I allowed to include a flash flood, or is that too significant that it would derail the normal plot you have planned? I can change it if necessary.
  15. Gibbletish. Adonalasium has its history written. Gibbletish could be an epic spacefaring stick god thing. I don't know. Would you rather find yourself between Rock and a hard place or be stuck on a Stick?
  16. Aluminum, actually. Something about aluminum savants being able to cleanse more than just metals from their bodies, but who knows? Would you rather be a chasmfiend Mistborn or an army of shades with lightsabers?
  17. Obesity epidemic!
  18. Definitely the chull. Come on, let's get some sick air! Would you rather get withered or Deathtouched?
  19. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch... Stormlight had healed the gaping hole in his gut, but for some reason, he winced each time he touched his abdomen. Why? Sareth shook his head. He wasn't a doctor, this wasn't something he would know. It is best not to think of the wound. He thought back to just barely an hour ago. They had done it! The chasmfiend had been defeated, and no one was killed! Not even Balthazar, who went inside the beast. And he was rewarded for his recklessness, with a glittering gemheart. The Initiates gathered around, smiling and cheering over their victory. Gloryspren danced around. All was merry... until... Boom Thunder rumbled over the Shattered Plains. Everyone turned and looked to the sky, eyes widening with fear, and then someone said the dreaded word: "Voidbringers!" Utter chaos ensued. Initiates scrambled to their feet, weapons drawn. Captain Kaladin shouted orders to his Squires, pointing positions and getting very angry. In his hand a silvery spear manifested, and he shot into the sky to face the Voidbringers. The tall Squire, Rock, ran forward, and the Initiates raced after him. Fifth scooped up Rea into his arms and ran after them. Lightning shot down from the sky, crimson bolts of death, striking stone. The other Squires took positions behind the group. They yelled at Sareth, who had been slow to get up. "Get moving! We want everyone to get out alive!" Sareth grabbed his staff and sprinted after Fifth and Rea. The Voidbringers were screaming as they fought, a terrible piercing cacophony that shook fear into every man's heart. Sareth saw their red eyes. They were filled with rage and hate, a mask of power and energy hiding something beneath. What was it, their souls? He heard that the Voidbringers were parshmen once, harmless. Was the hate in those eyes for themselves? A bolt struck the ground near him, sending a shock wave that almost made him trip. Unfortunately, he wouldn't have any time to sit down with a Voidbringer and talk about their problems and convert them to the Truth. He smiled sarcastically at the thought. Converting Voidbringers? Quite the religious zeal you've got there, Sareth. They began to jump down among them, flinging themselves from the cliffs and landing, feet-first, on the ground, seemingly unharmed. They grinned maliciously and swung their swords. Some struck flesh, others missed. Kintas stabbed one through with his own blade. As one advanced on Fifth, Sareth swung his staff around and caught it in the back of its neck, enhancing the blow with stormlight. The Voidbringer lurched forward and crumpled, but struggled to its knees. Sareth beat it down with another swing to the head. The Voidbringer collapsed. There will be no touching Fifth and Rea, Sareth thought, and ran along with them. Must get to the Oathgate.
  20. Welcome to the Shard! Don't eat the cookies.
  21. Oh my gosh, Aman. That write up was remarkable! I was on the edge my seat the whole time. Yes, you were right when you said you could top last chapter. And ouch, a spine through the gut? At least I'm alive. Do I have to incorporate my battle wound into the RP(I will anyway)? So, who wants to fight some Voidbringers?
  22. The entire beast shook as one of its massive legs snapped under the tremendous weight of the chasmfiend. Sareth caught himself with his staff, but saw that Fifth, up ahead, had tumbled down, and was quickly sliding towards the edge! He had no time to waste. With a deep breath of stormlight, he charged forward, hurdling spines with ease. Fifth reached out, desperately trying to grab hold of the creature's shell... and wrapped his hand around the end of Sareth's staff. Sareth pulled him up, holding onto a spike higher up. Hand over had, and both were safely on top of the beast. Below them, the chasmfiend shuddered and bellowed. The breaking of its leg had caused it severe pain, and it flung itself into a rage. But that fury was hampered by its new immobility, and it flailed around its claws. Together, Sareth and Fifth ran to the head. Neat where the head met the body, two chitin plates overlapped. Sareth rushed over to it and slid the end of his staff into the narrow gap between the plates. He braced himself, and with stormlight, he pushed down on the staff. Acting as a lever, the staff began to pry the plate up, slowly. The beast trumpeted with each centimeter raised. It must hurt terribly. Sareth motioned to Fifth to join him. Together they can flip this plate. Good night to you all!
