Mid-Range Game 23: A Desperate Alliance

After reviewing the accused's posts, I will consider options Yitzi: Active in the thread, reviewing victory conditions and Alethi possibilities, charged with the possibility of SoH. Drake: Also active in the thread, equally analyzing victory conditions, first targeted to provide a sure Scholarform, but then was bandwagoned because he was Parshendi, and thus possibly a Voidbringer. Len: Much less active in the thread, in which he protests that Alethi have full control over the lynch (numbers+votemanip), and is accused of being a Voidbringer for his anti-Alethi posts. Sart: Proposed the Drake lynch under good reason to ensure a publicly known Scholarform, was accused for using that plot to weaken the Parshendi and thus possibly is SoH/Ghostblood. Yitzi and Sart are Alethi, Drake and Len are Parshendi. My Alethi bias comes into play here to protect Yitzi and Sart, thus crossing them from my list. Of Drake and Len, I'm leaning towards Len for two reasons. One, Drake is okay right now. If he follows through and goes Scholar for us, it's all good. The information from that ability must be made known in one way or another, though. Two, Len has been eerily quiet, despite the claims against him. This is a little concerning to me, and that is what is tipping Len towards the bad zone right now. Since every vote is quite important right now, I'll cast mine on Elenion. -

Now its Drake(2): Sart, Orlok. Sart(1): Jon This leaves me conflicted. Drake has already claimed that he is switching to Scholarform, skipping the need to force him into via the lynch. However, trust levels are wobbly, and he might not be doing as he says, so we need a Parshendi or a PM confidant to back up his claim and hold him to it. Yitzi, as Alethi, just based on race, is someone I'd like to keep alive, but the general consensus believes he is a SoH. That does not hurt me at all, but I'm sure it makes several Parshendi nervous. I would prefer that Alethi not die, as a general rule, but there is quite a bandwagon already. So let's compromise: Parshendi want Yitzi dead for fear of him being a SoH, which is their enemy. If Yitzi IS SoH, then the SoH are down one person and the Alethi are down one person, and the Ghostbloods/Voidbringers benefit because people are dying. If Yitzi IS NOT SoH, then the SoH are unaffected, the Alethi are down one person, the Parshendi don't trust themselves much anymore because of their poor judgement, and the Ghostbloods/Voidbringers benefit. I would prefer the Voidbringers die first, seeing as there are more Alethi than Parshendi, meaning either less Voidbringers to kill or a greater chance of hitting a Voidbringer. If there is cooperation from both the Alethi and the Parshendi, a purge of Voidbringers from the ranks would be quite easy. -

I would pass Elenion's confusion on rule interpretation, and now that Seonid has clarified considerably what the victory conditions are, there is not a need to go back and beat Len for his mistake. At this point it is not necessary. -

So far there are two votes on Yitzi, a full day left, and a majority decision to hunt down secret factions. Drake is going scholar. On one hand, we bandwagon Yitzi. On the other hand, we wait until a new bandwagon option appears. -

So, as it seems, it is in the majority's best interests to eliminate the Voidbringers or the Sons of Honor. Due to the Stormform kill self-reveal, it will be much easier to find Voidbringers than Sons of Honor. Additionally, I suggest Alethi make us of their PMs. Remember, this is a peace agreement underway, so don't be afraid to work with Parshendi, especially if they are unaligned. Don't mess with Ghostbloods or Voidbringers, okay kids? -

And aren't the Voidbringers exposed if they kill using their ability? Edit: In Stormform -

Raaman stood guard. That was his duty. He had trained with the sword, shield, and spear all his life and was prepared for any occurrence. Any occurrence, except this one, perhaps. These... beings? People? More than animals, but not human, the Parshendi. They set him off. Their swirled skin, twisting patterns of white, red, or black, taunted his eyes, and the sounds they made... some argued it was music, the strange harmonies and rhythms. Raaman doubted it was so innocent. Something strange was afoot. The delegation was slow, leaving him time to think on this. Peace is a good thing, yes. He had seen, felt, wept, with Death in the heat of battle, hear the bodies of his comrades fall, lifeless, to the ground. It was not a happy or pretty thing, war. Yet it had been his whole life. If there was peace, what would happen to him? His blades would be useless, with no flesh to slice. And what could he do? Vorinism was clear on men's role, but if there was no war, then that is void. He could become a farmer, but he was no darkeyes. And after such a life he had lived, becoming an ardent would be unbearable. He shook his head. Such thoughts will be the end of him. He set aside his weapon and began to exercise. After the endless sea of stone, day in, day out, the delegation reached its destination: a wide, level plateau that had been designated as the meeting spot. Raaman scanned the neighboring plateaus. To the east was a wide chasm, too wide for a bridge, and maybe even a Parshendi's leap (he had heard they have such strength to leap gorges). Smaller, slanted plateaus were scattered to the north and west, easy to reach, but not large enough for an army. Perhaps a sneak attack? The delegation entered from the south, soon filling their side of the plateau, and waited. It was dark, or nearly so, that the Parshendi arrived. They were shadows in the night, nearly silent except for the humming rhythm. He was on watch, straining for sign of their arrival, and nearly missed them had they not sounded their coming. That they had eluded even he set him on edge. He pushed aside the angry emotions and walked towards the pavilion that had been erected. This was a peace meeting, not a new declaration of war. -

Nothing can change the Truth, for the Truth is eternal. Men are of the Physical World, where there is Deceit and Wickedness. Only those who have transcended to the Spirit World by means of death or enlightenment have the full knowledge of the Truth. I, Sareth, am one of those transcendent beings. The few others I have met have phased on, for reasons I know not, despite my enlightened state. Something keeps me here... But never mind, this talk of lies and truth has summoned me! -

@Roadwalker, this knack thing could get terribly out of hand. How about, for every "good" knack (as determined by the GM), you must have one or two "bad" knacks (depending on how good the good knack is). And cut out the chosen roles, because that will get really hard to manage and balance. -

Raaman, reporting for duty, sworn to the sword, bound to protect the crown. May my sword and shield be yours. I have emerged from my cave into the light, risen from sleep with a sword to fight. Once I disappeared, but now I'm back, Get ready SE, 'cause HH is here! -

Notifications... First, an apology. I am very sorry I have not been active lately. This is just a big shame on me for not participating and everything. Unfortunately, I don't see myself doing much SE in the near future, and my activity in this game is waning. Very sorry to you all. Second, I can confirm that I was stolen from that cycle. I was a little annoyed about that, but nothing too much. That was before I really started drifting away from the game. Third, while I'm here, I'll cast my vote. Jondesu

Mid-Range Game 22: My Little Perfidy

Upvote! Great writeup, Hero! I feel only slightly saddened that Ironpies was not mentioned in the writeup or that the powers of Ruin were not used. But that does not matter. The game went very well, and if Ornstein hadn't been lynched, would have been a sure victory for the Village. BB, you must have been cackling over that, hadn't you. As for CR, there are a few. Flash requested everyone's votes, and I am considering it. Bracken as a character was pretty good. Another candidate of mine is Brightness, with all of her colors. There were some creative uses in there. I thought Moneybags was a hilarious character, but PK, your RP faded towards the end, as did everyone's, so I can't truly penalize you for that. Really, I'd be satisfied with any of these people winning.- 628 replies

Hey, this was the first game I was evil, and I loved it. There's something satisfying about plotting to destroy your peers... well, I'll be taking a break from SE for a while, unless I can get my brother to join a game (if you didn't see @Grumpy Dula). Thank you all for a great game, very well done El, *applause*.
