Mid-Range Game 24: Baleful Eye
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It was the eerily quiet times, such as this, that drove Outblack into a state of spontaneous philosophy. It made him think of the Incident. Only at times such as this did the thought not bring rage to his heart nor a scowl to his face. Violent flashbacks did not come to mind. Instead, he reconsidered his word choice. Incident? Why "incident"? Why not Catastrophe, Cataclysm, Personal Apocalypse? What was it about the vague intensity of the word that caused the event to be referred to as such in his mind? After a few moments of brooding over this, he became frustrated that "incident" sounded awfully like "accident," and both words meant roughly the same thing. A casual observer could confuse the two! He could subconsciously realize when his strange mood would end when he would realize that the exact same thought process had played out last time. The revelation would bring a stark self-awareness and a sense of horror at himself for forgetting such a thing. He feared he was getting too old. Outblack shook his head of the thoughts. It was another of those strange swings that came on Thursday mornings. They usually happened then. He reached inside his coat and fiddled with the plastic bread bag. He needed to do something with his life and get out of the alleys. He plodded towards the street, towards direct sunlight. He could black out the entire block if he wanted... he considered this option. It was a good one, so he turned off the lights.- 779 replies

Clarification upon my rule as more rules are made: Percents are flipped in the alternate realm. Sart's Boring becomes Interesting, and the opposite process makes one Boring. I'm not sure why I felt I needed to clarify this.- 713 replies

Not all of them. But they don't like that, so they blotted me from the records, annihilated my cult, and banished me to the nether realms where the only light is the twisted parody that exists in the minds of the tormented. And no cell service.- 713 replies

I have no idea whether I want to join this game... But fine. I will. My name is Qwertyuiop, one of the Old Ones. Cthulhu is my homie. Rule: Each turn there is a chance for an inter-dimensional portal to appear and transport a random amount of players to an alternate realm. This alternate realm is almost exactly like the original, but every rule is reversed. Ex: Survivor-type roles become Serial Killer-roles, etc. The alternate realm is located in a different thread, much like LG37, and players in the alternate realm have a chance to return to the original.- 713 replies

Mid-Range Game 24: Baleful Eye
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The explosion shook the city. Since Outblack was only a few blocks from the Town Hall, there was no way he missed it. He scowled. There was always some fool causing trouble in this thrice-twisted city. It seemed like a brilliant time to step out and assume his position as the rightful ruler of the city, but he wasn't one for introductions, so he declined. He did, however, acquire some good whole wheat bread, like any true man would. Have to look out for the orphans, you know. @Shqueeves, how is Matt coming along with Outlet, or whatever the fool's name was?- 779 replies

Mid-Range Game 24: Baleful Eye
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Blackout heard the footsteps long before the voice. Well, not that long, but he wasn't about to tell you that. It was an orphan, from the sound of it. Outblack almost laughed at the mobile, but he didn't. He doesn't laugh. The darkness began to recede as he relaxed. He knew the feeling of it enough to know. He reached into his coat and fumbled around. He scowled. "Wait a moment," he told Matt. Matt waited. Outblack fumbled around the garbage behind him before feeling the smooth plastic bag. He raised it up and sniffed it. It smelled of garbage. "Um, Dark Uncle, that's sourdough," Matt said. Outblack regarded the loaf in his hands. Sourdough? He reached into the bag and pulled it out. It wasn't even pre-sliced. Think of the children! He growled and ripped off an end in his hands, the crust darkening and charring. Outblack sniffed it. Well toasted. He tossed the end of bread to Matt. He didn't hear the piece fall, so he assumed Matt had caught it. "Don't hurt your teeth on that. And about the mobile, try to find one of those electricity Epics around... Outlet, I think that one was. Stupid name, why did he even come up with... Anyways, he'll know what to do with it. Be sure to tell him Outblack sent you, so he doesn't fry your hide off." Outblack growled. He assumed Matt nodded, and he scampered off. He tensed again, and the light was sucked away again. He seared the sourdough, sourdough! in his hands, and took a bite. At least the blasted bread tasted better burnt.- 779 replies

Mid-Range Game 24: Baleful Eye
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
What? No, Outblack is not a cruel, hardhearted tyrant spawned of Calamity. He was like that beforehand, sort of. But in his dark, light-consuming heart, he has a soft spot for orphans. Calamity made heaps of them. For weeks afterwards, lonely children roamed the streets, having lost parents or siblings or both, with no skills and tools to save themselves. They hid under dumpsters, in alleys, inside cars. Many fell victim to Epics. Outblack hated to see this. The slaughter of young innocents. So, naturally, when the scrawny youth wandered into his alley, saw the all-consuming darkness, and turned to run, the darkness would fade, revealing a grim man in a trench coat offering a loaf of wheat bread. The pre-sliced kind you get from the grocer. The child's face would brighten at the sight of food, yet it would warily eye the giver. As always, the stomach wins the battle, and the bread is taken, leaving behind empty hands and a hidden smile. Don't ask him where he got the bread. That's his secret, and if you knew about that, you must know about other things... and Outblack doesn't like that information being handed about freely. So what is the purpose of telling you this? Well, first, Outblack is like an onion, he has many layers. Second, I want you to know how he knows everything around the city like he does. It's obvious: orphans. They call him Dark Uncle, which is an apt description. It seems like he doesn't like it, but I know that it brings him satisfaction to hear a young voice say it. So now you know. Don't tell anyone you heard it from me.- 779 replies

Mid-Range Game 24: Baleful Eye
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Outblack is a man of few words. He doesn't like people, if that wasn't clear enough already. But the death of a High Epic brings the unfortunate from all around, and it breaks all social norms. Outblack hates when social norms are broken. Of course he didn't leave his alley, he had no need to. Rumor had it that Nighthound drowned in a lake of lava, in curious fashion, located in the city park. That's ridiculous. There could be no way that an Epic of such proportions as Nighthound to simply drown in a lake of lava. Outblack was smarter than that. It had to be a hoax of some sort... a deception. The real Nighthound, not the phony that everyone saw, must be out there somewhere... somewhere else.- 779 replies

Mid-Range Game 24: Baleful Eye
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Outblack liked the shadows. Well, he didn't really need them, but they helped. You can't see, but he absorbed light. All light. As black as pitch. He could even draw in light, sucking it right from its source. He always wondered if he could suck the light out of the sun. The sun was his true nemesis, one could say. Outblack didn't care for anyone, nobody. He stuck to his place, and usually, people stuck to theirs. Not always, though, so that was when he had to step in and put them in their place. Wasn't pretty. The problem with absorbing light was that it got hot, fast. It was pretty toasty most of the time, but he couldn't die from heat, luckily. It was just a little uncomfortable, that's all. It wasn't a good idea to touch him after he'd "eaten" some light, because it would sear your flesh off. It was this particular day that Outblack sat in the alley, absorbing ambient light. The nook had been dim before, but now it was the definition of darkness. Absence of light, right there. Outblack liked things like that, when no one can see. It levels the playing ground. Forces people to rely on their other senses, just like he had to after the Incident. Don't get ahead of me now, the Incident had nothing to do with Calamity. Calamity just gave the situation a bit of a dramatic effect and poetic justice. Long story short, Outblack is blind. Literally blind as a bat, exactly like a bat. He knows what sound shoes make on gravel, on pavement, on concrete, on dirt, sand, grass... what the shoe is, how heavy the person is, etc. He stores it up in that good brain of his, uses his time to memorize the information. He knows the ins and outs of this town, better than anyone with eyes could. And if he could blot out the sun, he would reign.- 779 replies

Long Game 37: Forest Thread
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Dalinar Kholin, you mean to say that this whole time, Eternum was an Elim? That the slip-up with role was a mistake, but one that proved to silence suspicions against him? Now, you have arranged a great deal of evidence against Eternum, and it does seem to fall into place. I did note that Eternum had been quite indecisive, but I forgot about his kills. That is quite suspicious. Eternum's explanation for choosing DA as his protector was a little strange. He said he was the only one he could trust, even though he voted on him before? This seems like he was trying to come up for an excuse to pick an Elim buddy. Now, his kills are strange, particularly Jondesu. He even said that Jond was on the villagery side, yet why did he kill him? Eternum says it was in a PM, yet we have only his word to take for it. This is very concerning. Kills aren't a very sure way of determining someone's alignment, yet this is ringing some bells. I will vote Eternum. @Eternum, I am willing to be swayed. What is your defense?- 338 replies

Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The Neutrals have their own individual win-cons, usually completely separate of either faction. I have a feeling that the roles will be like ToS, because of the Serial Killer in the write up (and because of what my role is). So I don't see much reason to worry about the Neutrals for now.- 779 replies

That's why you read, kids. That's also why you are probably on this fansite. But does that mean there are roles that allow you to pass items? Why would that person want to pass items? Are there detrimental items. like bombs? Or trackers? Or is there a role with an alignment that requires the player to give away all of his/her items (and there are like ten)? I'm just blindly speculating, because that's what you do in blackout games. Right?- 779 replies

Long Game 37: Forest Thread
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I am very sorry for my lack of activity, or at least, lessened activity. I have been caught up in schoolwork and extracurricular activities that drawn my time. I would like to ask for forgiveness of all of you. Regarding the medium decision, I have had a village read on Eternum for a while now. For a cycle or so after he role-claimed D1, I was suspicious of him, but I have come to the conclusion that he would not have done that if he were an Elim. DA, on the other had, is not so set in my mind. His posts, though funny, have not given me many village indications, and so I think Eternum is a safer and better pick for medium. The lynch is another large topic. Vote tally: Polking: Eternum Megasif: Araris, Jondesu Cloud: DA HH: Megasif Araris: DA, Eternum DA: Dalinar, Eternum As you can see, there is not a single person that Eternum has left his vote on. So far, Megasif has the most votes. If Eternum had left his vote on DA, then there would be a tie. Essentially, Eternum favors Megasif as a lynch candidate more than DA. Now, Megasif has placed a vote on me. I don't see the reason in that. You said I was asking lots of questions, and I was, but that was because there are many elements of the game that are unknown and could have drastic effects on the chances of the villagers winning, such as what happened in the Zeta realm and the Medium's win condition. I'm not sure that warrants such an aggressive response, Megasif. Now, I could place a vote on you, but I feel like your concern with my intent is innocent and what any villager would do. But Jond came right back around and accused you of the same thing you accused me. If I were to do that, then I would be an apparent "hypocrite", and that's not something I want on myself, now don't I.- 338 replies
